This got further autistic when some random anon decided to pay for an ad on 4chan to use a random IRyS pic which links to the audio clip and as a result, There have been several mentions of the ad and the audio clip on several threads, and the anon who made it had to go in hiding for a short while before coming back to the thread.

Nux is cringe, but I'm leaning towards siding with him. A public effort to expose and discourage swatters makes more sense to me than a private effort to fully ruin the lives of dumb kids who found a way to get retard cops to attack people for their amusement.

Furthermore, I think VShojo was just trying to keep this under wraps to avoid embarrassment. Apparently they are too good to make a statement like "CAREFUL, RETARDS, THERE ARE FAKE EMAILS WITH OUR NAME ON THEM GOING AROUND AND YOU GONNA GET SHOT IF YOU REPLY."

Unless someone has more information, I also don't understand how "this year has been hell for" Nyanners because of this situation. It's literally just a basic phishing email that would never effect her.

It's worthy of note that it's actually not a KF rrat (mostly provided by me, hehe) that this interrupts legal proceedings. From VSHOJO's own Reddit statement, they make direct mention that the decision to remain silent was 'unanimoisly agreed' upon by both the law enforcement and Cybersecurity team.

Much like most things in life, you're going to trust that the professionals have everyone's best interests in mind. Keep in mind that the presence of law enforcement/cybersecurity is something that both VShojo and Nux agree existed, so there's no reason to doubt it.

Their insinuation here is that Nux Taku actually got jebaited into learning of the wrong personal details of the doxxer, and therefore didn't tangibly accomplish more than a testimony VSHOJO could utilise to build their case. This in and of itself creates a new can of worms as to why VSHOJO's official account thanked him in response to his video if that video was full of misinformation and inherently went against their wishes, though. I can only surmise the Admin didn't get the memo.



Speaking of misinformation, I'd like to expand upon where the statement conflicts with the content of Nux's video, as Nux seems to actually lay more blame at VShojo's doorstep than may actually be appropriate.

For example, Nux actually talks about the chronology of this story, whilst also mentioning that
• 12 V-Tubers were doxxed by this person.
• There were dozens - if not hundreds - of victims.

That may well be true, but the way Nux speaks, or at least fails to differentiate the doxxer's history and this particular VShojo-related scam, frames it as VShojo's management silencing a huge, potentially fatal scandal with many victims. Well, this is what they had to say:

The phishing scam that led to a fake replica of the official website hooked two victims, before being forcibly shut down less than a week later. With confirmation that both victims were safe and the scam had been halted, it does make sense to me that they'd elect to remain quiet and push for an arrest.

Of course, even if you take all this at face value, there are still questions that need to be asked:
• Who, if anyone, within the company allowed Nux to publish the video?
• Why did the official account respond to his video with a message of thanks, if him making the video and/or the content of the video wasn't endorsed by them?
• How is it physically possible for Nux's voice to be as eye-wateringly awful as it is?

Oh yeah 100%, but I'm on the side of people should be made aware of something like this if it has a shot of affecting them, I don't give a damn is someone ends up profiting from spreading awareness about something that could have gotten worse before it got better. We also are for sure not getting and will never get the full story cause I can imagine both Nux and Nyan are gonna wanna sweep this under the rug, until something else winds Nyan up.

Vshojo's talent was never in danger, despite how they're spazzing out now. It was indies who were approached by someone pretending to be Vshojo staff who got doxed. On the one hand, Vshojo doesn't really have an obligation to worry about people other than their employees, but it does seem they knew about it for a while without putting out a good-faith message that this was happening to other people, which would have cost them nothing and avoided the entire current cluster.

But yes, Nux's motives were not entirely altruistic and it seems that he didn't handle the situation with the seriousness it required.

Flamenco just did a stream and Sakii Nightshade showed up as an unexpected guest, and she openly said Vshojo told her they knew about the malicious phishing links since March. He also read the entire timeline of events put out by Vshojo as well as their Discord messages between Vshojo and Nux and it confirms Nux literally did nothing wrong, Vshojo supported his video, and then Nyanners having one of her weekly mental episodes decided to make everyone dogpile Nux on Twitter.

At exactly 39 minutes Sakii Nightshade comes in, and she is one of the victims of the phishing scam. Also Vshojo is still trying to lie and claim the only phishing victims for eight fuckin' months were Nux and Sakii.

Just to recap: she got popular posting on 4chan and making videos out of 4chan memes, she even went as far as hosting /v/'s Vidya Gaem Awards in 2011.

Then it came to her that maybe she could become a real voice actress, so she turned against her fanbase and went full SJW tumblrina to fit in with the industry.

A few years later, the vtuber boom happened and she knew she might have a chance to cash in on it, but SJWs weren't exactly popular over there. She decided to turn against her tumblrina fanbase and started playing loli games like Nekopara that she was rallyiing against just a few years earlier.
