Excuse me if I'm wrong but don't you need more than one person rambling at a mic for something to be a podcast? Doesn't there need to be a discussion? Every podcast I've listened to either has 2 or more regular co-hosts talking to each other or if it's just one host he or she always brings in one or more guests each episode. Of course Dave would argue that he has a discussion with his viewers which would theoretically count as a podcast, provided of course that there's either money attached or you're one of the half a dozen dents like Derich or Guts who can mysteriously get their inane questions answered without ever attaching money. Not to mention, a 15 minute rant about a miniscule task which gets spun into one of the 12 Labors of Heracles after which you lean-in on nudniks who disagree with you or say "I agree with you!" when a denthead parrots whatever you just said doesn't count as a discussion either.

Nah. One of the first gaming podcasts (Gaming Steve) I can remember was a solo act.

So heard Dave's retcon of him refusing to make his videos longer than 15 minutes and just flat admitted that he kept em short to try and double dip on viewer numbers.

Also minor thing but listening to Dave talk ya pick up on phrases that he's using constantly and lately I've noticed that he's been saying "know what I'm saying" a lot.

Amateur psychologist time, does he have some deep seated self doubt breaking through or is he just acknowledging that his audience are retards who in fact don't know what he's saying?

It’s snippets like this one which immortalize DSP as a premium cow.

Within the span of less than a minute, he called a random viewer a “fucking idiot” and a “moron” simply because he used a term that accurately reflected his sentiments towards RTU but personally disagreed with.

Phil’s ego is so fragile, he feels personally attacked if anyone contradicts or challenges the innumerable bullshit that spews out of his mouth. Phil has been ranting about Rich for years now because the latter hasn’t been speaking “positively” about him or in a way that would gratify Phil. Unless you massage the pig’s ego and let him control the narrative to give him a platform to spread the lies he reinforces on a daily basis on his streams, Phil will never come to your stream to have a discussion. He just wants a propaganda platform for him to stand on otherwise he’ll want nothing to do with you.

There’s a famous bit of lore out of North Korea in which Kim Jung-Il kept telling everyone in his entourage that he once played a perfect game of golf over 18 courses where every shot was a hole-in-one. Of course, most people knew it was utter bullshit but out of fear from contradicting the Dear Leader, people accepted it as fact and over the years, the lie became fact.

I feel that this little anecdote defines Phil to a T; he has repeated the lies he continuously tells himself within an echo chamber for so long, he genuinely believes all the lies he tells his audience. That’s why I feel that Phil has stopped living in a system based on actual reality but instead in a bizarro type of world of his own perceived reality. The only difference between him and Kim Jung-Il is that nobody but the most mentally challenged of dentheads actually believe him because Phil is a powerless cuck with no actionable authority outside of his own little virtual hugbox.

Dude’s entire life is just retconning facts to mold his “I’m successful and the trolls are jealous of me” narrative. Utter fucking madness.

Gotta love when Phil acknowledges how "small-time" he is when it's useful to him. Most of the time he's an internet legend who's a positive influence on many people's lives and yadda yadda.

It reminds me of this one plot point from Warcraft 3 where the main characters Illidan and Arthas fight in a duel. Illidan is almost killed by Arthas and then withdraws to his fortress after his defeat.
When players encounter Illidan again, he apparently believes that he never lost to Arthas, claiming "Not even Arthas could defeat me, yet you dare to even harbor such thoughts?"
This quote got a lot of negative reception from the fans because Illidan was being depicted as a delusional psycho.
My point is, Phil's worldview is so warped that his brain is on par with a poorly written cartoon character. Remember that time Phil called Pewdiepie a hermit?
