Why do these spaceship designers always forget to put in the massive fuel tanks? Don't they realize these things have to be mostly fuel by both volume and weight?

scifi space ships usually have some kind of warp drive technology that basically serves as a magic black box allowing ships to go mega fast with minimum fuel consumption

These ships all have massive engines, though. You'd think at least some of them would have big fuel tanks, but none of them do. Most don't even have any fuel tanks.

The fuel tanks are external. Fuel is stored at known coordinates and the engine opens a wormhole.
