US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

What depresses me is that the pushback in a lot of these places is minimal compared to the pushback in America (do correct me if I'm wrong, Euro Kiwis. I could use a good whitepill today). At least here we have a blatantly inept administration to undermine the legitimacy of increasingly desperate and draconian vaccination measures.

Not a Eurokiwi, but have some whitepills anyway -- Worldwide Protests against COVID-19 Mandates Megathread. There's a lot of pushback happening all over Europe and beyond. The Netherlands in particular have been extra spicy, and with Austria, Germany, and now Greece threatening mandatory vaccination, I would expect things to intensify drastically soon.

Nationwide huh? Didn't actually expect this to get blocked so soon, but damn if this aint satisfying to read. I'm still a little cautious though. Knowing Biden, he'll try again and again and again and...

Anyway, uhhhh... is Hochul gonna apologize to all those NYS healthcare workers she forced out of the job for threatening to replace them with immigrants?
He will continue to do it just to pressure businesses to create mandates on their own and in at least one medical facility where I am, it is working as they are keeping the mandate in place no matter what the court says. Then they are saying if you want to do the testing instead of the vaccine, they are charging 200 dollars a test, 400 dollars a week to keep your job if you do not want the vaccine.

Which is, I believe, illegal as hell. Charging people a fee to keep their job, that is.

So, as far as I read somewhere, black friday and cyber monday spending were down 1-2% compared to last year. And that does not even take into account that inflation is near 7% compared to black friday a year ago (and last year were also more locked down/restricted).
To me that translates to pretty significant reduction (8-9%?) of the spending power of the average american this shopping holiday.

This is surely shit that the average american will notice happening to their spending power.

So, you have high inflation and at the same time shrinking commerce/economy ...
I think there is a word for that.

EDIT: Spoiler, it is called STAGFLATION Thankyou Biden.
What's the point of Black Friday/Cyber Monday when A) inflation is occuring, B) one could "legally" steal from a store?

Did some looking around at various websites yesterday and this year probably had some of the worst, most barebones sales I've seen. Especially in the technology department, if you were looking for "deals" on graphics cards the best you were going to get was spending a little under a thousand dollars for a five year old card.

Dr. Oz announced his bid for the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate seat as a Republican today.

What the hell is going on this year? 2022 is going to be a clown show. Thankfully, we live in a Clown World.
To think, I dismissed this man as a snake-oil salesman who promoted anti-vaxx nonsense.

How strange that, vaguely, we're in greater agreement than we're with the tyranny of Science™️...

^Your job right now, on a micro-cosmic level. On a macro-cosmic level, the Biden admin.

Fredo is out of CNN indefinitely. The statement from CNN attached.
Trump curse confirmed for reals.
Under Bootyjudge, Middle America may as well just revert to agrarian feudalism if he's so dead-set on making car ownership as prohibitively expensive as possible.
San Francisco has the only other public transportation system that comes close to matching NYC but MUNI/BART is no MTA either in terms of service and cost of fares. Also California has rolling blackouts so powering up that electric car will not only be more expensive than gasoline, it will be far less reliable. But hey, who cares when you cruise Castro St on foot, right Mayor Bootygrab?
Trump, always cleaning up the mistakes of his peers.

Bitch is haram and would merit a stoning in her home country.
Biden really IS managing to unite everyone in America! Who else could get Trump bros, PETA, and a bunch of Ethiopians to agree on something? I mean, the 'something' is that Biden is a fuck-up, but still.
PETA?

its big but worth a listen. The democrat establishment is making all kinds of enemies...naomi wolf is a hardcore lefty

Naomi Wolf is a personal lolcow of mine, but she's come out strong against the mandates, so good for her.

Rumor mill has it that Omar and House Dems are working on drafting a resolution to condemn Islamophobia - as a baseline, they'll likely try to escalate even further. This is a political beef I think could become interesting, because the two people involved have personalities that sort of just lend themselves to political drama.

Omar very clearly goes off the deep end when people make jokes about her religion, plus she's in The Squad so she's got that entitlement factor. Greene on the other hand has amassed over $48,000 in fines for refusing to wear a mask and she still doesn't wear one. Meant to talk about Boebert, but that's still worth knowing. She [Boebert] is nothing if not absolutely spiteful. I could see at least one potential timeline where Greene Boebert gets caught calling Omar a nigger or something behind closed doors. Or Greene, actually, both of them have that potential.
Last time the House tried to pass a resolution condemning antisemitism because of Omar's comments, it somehow got redrafted into "we condemn all bad things," including Islamophobia, because they couldn't bear to acknowledge Jews. So this would be redundant and hypocritical.

I’m willing to bet this is hot air. Like the vaccine mandates, the Biden Admin expects compliance through decree alone. Once corporate interests start hemming and hawing, the admin will quietly push back these mandates “to a reasonable future date.” (Read: never)

They’re hoping people will scare themselves into performing self-authoritarianism.

Still, the mere mention of lockdowns will do wonders for his poll ratings. Clearly.
Yup, this is their entire modus operandi. And they have admitted that only about ~25% of people would probably comply to being tested before a flight.

I love and hate that they say the quiet parts out loud. It makes it easier to shut it down legally speaking, but they're only this brazen because no one seems to care and just goes along with it.

I really struggled with where to put this. It seemed too 'Biden-y' for the Ethiopia thread, so you guys get it.
Why are Ethiopians so based? They were hugely conservative during the Virginia election too and I had no idea why!

BART is about the only mass transit system that's worth the price of using it in the entire state, even though it increases the longer you travel and crime. The problem, and I speak with about a year's worth of experience, is that the bus lines to get to BART suck ass. The bus could take an hour for pick up and it was not cheap either. My fare at the time was ($2.10+$1.75 for BART*)*2 per day. Not only that, I also took a lot of opportunity cost by being on such a strict schedule. Could never go out and do miscellaneous chores, rarely benefited from transfers because I was at school for at least 3 to 8 hours, and couldn't even taken early morning or night classes because the bus line would either shut down or be so early that I physically couldn't wake up in time. I'm sure the fares have only gotten worse since then.

*I was close enough to the school to warrant a short BART trip, but the bus lines themselves didn't connect to the school.

I could walk to a BART station from my home to get to uni so I avoided the zoned fare but when I worked in the East Bay it was cheaper to drive, defeating the purpose of BART entirely. And I was not alone.

The NYC subway and bus system have no zoned fares. The most expensive option are the express buses, which is what I use now since they're jogger free but those too are one fare regardless of your destination. NYC has a program where you sign up and have the cost of your bus/subway fare deducted from your paycheck, they send you a discounted Metro card and it isn't taxed. Mass transit in the NYC area as whole is far cheaper than owning and maintaining a car, which works only here and not anywhere else in the US.

If I wanted to walk to my BART station, it was a 3 mile walk and thus, I'd spend an hour anyways. An intolerable one if I'm carrying groceries that day.

The BART stations were at transportation hubs in SF (Powell St, Civic Center, 16th St, 24th St, Glen Park, Balboa) so they were easy to walk to, if you had to take a short bus ride you had to depend on MUNI. BART's computer systems were already obsolete when it first went in service and didn't get upgraded for years. It wasn't reliable at all and that's why you still had people in cars everywhere in SF. I once demanded a BART station clerk give me a late note I could give my professor and he actually did it, either because the train was perpetually late/fucked up or I was girl, idk.

The NYC subway runs on early 20th century tech and it just werks. It's been slowly upgraded but they still track the subway trains on these boards with Xmas lights that light up when a train trips a circuit on the actual subway track. It's fascinating and hilarious at the same time.

Various groups who arrive legally and then find work/found businesses will almost always be overwhelmingly conservative leaning within a generation or two because they have shit to defend, or more ladders they want to climb.

These guys are the epitome of Family, Faith and Entrepreneurial spirit and have always struggled to break in and lock down their own "faction" in the Republican/Conservative party because of either indifference from the party, legitimate past racism and other cultural differences or Reps and Tories have simply not bothered taking the local community with them in planning decisions and electoral messaging.

The problem is its still going to take a few more election cycles before these guys can legitimately rise through the ranks. You could copy the Dems/Labour and simply promote people with different skin colours, but then you wind up with utter dross like Dianne Abbot and Maxine Waters, neither of whom I'd trust to run a donut shop opposite a police station.

Ideally any right leaning/conservative party need people more like Winsom Sears, Kimi Badenoch and James Cleverly. People who happily started out lower on the rung to build bases and inspiration before finding themselves charging up the ranks to hold significant positions.

Exactly, remember Tamyra Mensah-Stock? She was the first female African-American to win wrestling gold in the Olympics, but she only got coverage on Fox News because she goes against the narrative. She doesn't even come from wealth, her father's an immigrant from Ghana. In a normal world, someone so patriotic and wholesome would be lauded and get tons of coverage, and deservedly so.

That video's so wholesome and inspiring, but most of the media instead preferred to focus on dumb athlete protests like this dyke's. What for?

If it ain't on the news, it didn't happen.

Every person you can get reading alternate news sources that actually cover such events is one more crack in the managed narrative and one more person who will go on in turn to get another person they know reading such sources. When faith in the mainstream media collapses, it will collapse hard much like a run on a bank or a currency collapse. And for the same reasons - it runs on trust and once that is questioned it leads to more questioning. Everyone who distrusts the media should make it their mission to nudge one person into reading alternate sources before the year is out. Pick your battles but do it - if you can convince even one person of one truth they've been lied to about, the rest starts to follow.
