Sensitivity Reader is some Orwellian shit. It's like communist party censorship. Except now it's some left wing aparatchik making sure there's enough girl dick and degeneracy.
I was coming in here to say something similar. It also seems opposed to the concept of, you know, ART.

Like if I wrote a whole damn book about a fat, illiterate, black teen who was pregnant by her own father, I wouldn't hire a fucking sensitivity reader to make sure that this appalling and dysfunctional family dynamic was appropriately sensitive to the concerns of black fathers who enjoy recreationally raping their own daughters.

Mark Twain should have had a sensitivity reader on the fucking raft with Huck and Nigger Jim. That would have made the whole book a whole lot better.

Fuck that noise.

After what, 7 years of this bullshit, this is really the best he can do at drawing Ciel?!?! Come on! Thousands of dollars in wasted tablet donations, years of pity bucks, and his fan base is left with this cartoon abortion. The Simpsons didn't even stick with this style past the Tracy Ulman show. Tsk Tsk.

I bet it’s traced too, I tried to find a similar image on Google and the closest I could find was a My Little Pony image with a similar u shaped mouth but that’s probably reaching:

The trace makes sense. I didn't spend more than like 30 seconds looking, but the way ceil's lips go is weird and feels like he flipped the horse mouth sideways and tried to trace that. Either that or I'm reaching too. But seriously, look at the lip shape, trace your mouse over the horse mouth and it feels like it could be edited from that which also explains why the pencil in the mouth looks so weird too.

Holy hell you broke the code!
I was wondering about this change in how the expressions were drawn, ESPECIALLY this "blinking with a lower eyelid" thing Labelle has been doing A LOT lately:

reversed_eyelids.png

And I know what you're thinking "But Space Ace! Humans (and most animals) HAVE a lower eyelid" and yes, you are correct, but I will get to why all this caught my attention lower in the post.

And we know from past "style changes" (tracings) that Labelle doesn't really make things up wholesale; all this weird shit always stems from a complete misunderstanding of how bodies work and just following along with the source image.

Remember this guy? For those that don't, he's the combination of tracing a big cat and a house cat-wearing-a-hat, but Labelle wanted to show the tail which was not visible in the source image's lion so the following logic was used:
Cat have tail = yes
Tail goes on back of cat = yes
I stick tail on back of my cat = yes!

traced_cat.png

Whhhich resulted in a tail being stuck on what we, as humans with eyes, can see is in fact the leftmost edge of the cat's left back leg instead of anywhere near the spine.

If you look at ANY of Labelle's images you can see how everything is just pieces and nothing works together. Cat have tail, tail go on back of cat = a cat with a tail that just attaches anywhere.

Human have fingers, fingers go on hand, hand go on wrist, wrist attach to elbow =

the_fuck.png

Doesn't matter how many extra bends you have to add or how fingers actually curl or how it would all actually attach together. The pieces are there, therefore it's good enough to Labelle.

SO with all that in mind, looking at pic you found, PI, explains this new lower eyelid thing perfectly!
I won't get into the anatomy of it (unless someone really wants me too but go try this:
Stand in front of a mirror and try to copy Stephie's expression in the first example there. Open your mouth wide, raise your eyebrows and now lift your lower lids up.
You probably looked really funny but hopefully you noticed two things. How holy shit uncomfortable and unnatural that was, and how when you had your mouth open wide and your brows lifted high how little control you really had over your lower lids. At its most simplistic this is because said lower lids are mostly at the mercy of the muscles around them (your cheeks and brow).

(Anatomy / medical nerds, I'm doing my best to keep this super simple so feel free to rate me dumb but lets not argue about the nuances of muscle groups, this is just about what we can see naturally on the surface)

So why am I being so autistic about this? Well combine Labelle's logic with the pony pic:

And imagine you're Labelle who sees everything in the body as disconnected pieces. You're not see this as the curve of the mouth pushing up the cheek muscle and overlapping the eye. All you're seeing is a round eye with a line chopping through the bottom and covering the bottom with flesh colour. And because all you're seeing is the eye, than that bottom flesh must be part of the eye.

Hopefully you guys are seeing what I'm getting at here and why those new lower-eye-lid-based expression Labelle's been playing with have been making the back of my brain itch.
And yeah, I know, in art all rules can be broken to add to a style or effect, but that's why you have to master the basics before you start breaking all the rules, otherwise everything is just disjointed, busted and uncanny.
Like, you know, Everything Labelle draws.

I don't think you're reaching at all, this makes perfect sense for Labelle's inability to use reference as reference and instead has to trace and then guess the rest. It also explains the weird point on the pencil.

Sincerely great job, you guys! I never would have guessed Labelle would be stealing from the popular plastic ponies but it makes actually perfect sense given Labelle's obsession with furries and little girls.
eugh.
Gross.
