Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I’m not a huge gamer and if I do play something, more often than not it’s the NES Classic I keep in my garage.

That being said, I do typically play a game or two a year and typically buy the latest Sony console within a year of its release.

That being said, I’ve never seen a PS5 and I don’t know anyone who owns one (and I know some guys whom you would classify as ‘gamers’).

I was in college when my roommates stood in line to buy PS2’s on the launch date and while they were scarce that holiday season, they were plentiful the year afterwards. Same with the PS3 and the PS4. The PS5 launched last year and still there’s none to be found.

I think that’s indicative of the reason why the sales this year were lackluster. The stores don’t have the stock and blowing everything out now will lead to them not having the stock to sell at a higher price later on down the road.

Another example of this is in cars. My dad decided to sell the Dodge Ram he had just gotten at the beginning of COVID for a few grand more than he’d paid. The only problem was that he had to pay full MSRP on a Ford Truck that wasn’t even built yet. That new F150 was supposed to be built last week and he got a call saying that it wouldn’t be built this year. So instead he’s driving around in my Granddad’s old 83 F-150, listening to Led Zeppelin II on cassette and patiently waiting for this new truck to materialize and doesn’t know when he’s going to get it.

If you can’t get the stuff to sell, there’s no incentive to sell it at a lower cost.

Part of the issue with why PS5/New XBox sales have flopped is that the upgrade is pretty much minimum at best and the new systems pretty much the most unnecessary upgrade since the Nintendo Wii U.

There is no real change in gameplay to justify upgrading and more importantly, nothing groundbreaking tech-wise to justify putting out a new system PERIOD. Adding to this, is that there are only handful of games for both systems, in part because of the fact that a lot of gamers don't want to be forced to upgrade, so a lot of shit is coming for both last gen and new gen with zero reason to upgrade period.

Yeah my country has the largest Ethiopian population outside Ethiopia and the USA and they're overwhelmingly conservative and patriotic af
What happened with Somalis tho?
Unlike Ethiopia, Somalia is a desert wasteland with almost no arable land. The Agricultural Revolution and all the attendant civilizational advances passed them right by, and the introduction of Islam didn't exactly help. Basically Somalia is the AI opponent in Age of Empires that never advanced past the Stone Age.

If you see Biden or bigger dems starting to hammer SCOTUS in the next weeks, that means they know the initial, unofficial heads up vote between the justices went against abortion. This is what happened with Obamacare, it was defended poorly by the government attorneys, the initial vote by justices were 5-4 repeal Obamacare, and then this was leaked to Obama who started hammering and playing the shame and blame game on SCOTUS, and this is what made faggot Roberts flip because he wants to go to DC parties.

I think Barrett will cuck on this and it's going to look worse for her because Kavanaugh looks like he won't take a bullet for this ruling like others, it will be 5-4 for abortion.

Either way it's a win, abortion returns to a state by state issue or we see the cuckening and watch the entire republican judicial system be destroyed and all those societies be thrown in the dumpster, much like how Trump exposed all the Con Inc and RINO grifters.
People are already assuming that Roe V Wade will be over turned. If they had any faith in Roberts they wouldn't be screaming right now.

And Biden has been shitting in the Supreme Courts yard since he got into office. Roberts won't get any respect from either side if he makes the Supreme Court a rubber stamp.
What will the abortion outcome mean in terms of lawfully mandating vaccines?

If "my body, my choice" is outlawed, then what law do you have on your side to protect you from Biden or whoeverthefuck rules the laws, from saying "well, not your body, your choice any more. You're taking the vax!"?

FWIW, the head of the EU, Van der lemon or whatever her name is, is discussing making Vaccines mandatory across all EU member states. They must feel pretty confident about the response, because the EU was looking at collapsing after Brexit. Fance, Spance, Greece and Poland all discussed leaving the EU.

Come, Eurobros, join us English in glorious freedom, free from any german arseholes. We've helped you, help us, help the continent to stop Herman the German, twice in 100 years. Shall we play first to three?
Now that I think about it, not sure. Supposedly Roe V Wade held up medical privacy.

Then again, abortions are about choosing while mandates are about forcing you to do something.
There's no time limit, but I wouldn't expect a verdict earlier than in a few weeks.
That's what I thought. I was like "when the hell has the Supreme Court ever issued a ruling on the same day?"

Unless people think it's like a jury trial.

That's just it. They stopped teaching civics, so these people think that the judges will go back, talk for a few hours, then come back and issue a ruling that day.

Why does he sound like he has a mouth full of cotton?
The supply chain crisis isn't happening eh, Pedo Joe? Explain this, then:
Through most of November, out-of-stocks were up 261% versus 2019.

Having tried to educate myself more on the matter I think I understand with some confidence now how this thing with the government shutdown is going to work, and where the points for failure are. As I think I said before government shutdown is basically locked in at this point, the question is if it'll last more than a single weekend.

Midway through I realized I've put an ungodly amount of sperg into writing this, this is also far longer than I imagined it would be, but it's not much of my time (I'm a fast typer) and it's a very informative look into Senate proceedure. I hope someone appreciates it.
So as I write this, it's mid-Wednesday and the government shutdown happens at 11:59 PM on Friday. As we speak House members from both sides have not finished writing the stopgap spending bill, and are still negotiating over detalis. The current plan is this will be a stopgap until mid-January but again, this is still being negotiated. Assumption is that the Dems will have the bill finished tomorrow, they will vote on it tomorrow, and the Senate gets it late Thursday.

Once it gets to the Senate, the Senate has to get permission to put the bill on the floor so it can be discussed. All 100 Senators need to unanimously agree to this in order to proceed with the process, but this is the problem: a group of Republican senators is allegedly plotting to stop the spending bill at this step of the process. Their goal is to remove funds from the stopgap bill that would be used to implement Biden's federal vaccine mandates, and thus, kill them. We don't know how large the group is, but in a letter signed in mid-November, 15 Republican Senators said they would use every means at their disposal to stop the mandates. My personal guess is there's only 3-5 Senators in this group.

So let's say it gets to the Senate and then Ted Cruz and a couple of his buddies stop the bill from being debated. What then? Well, the Democrats do have recourse. They can "file cloiture" (it's a tool meant to prevent filibusters) and move onto debate without unanimous consent. HOWEVER, there must be a gap of 1 day between filing cloiture and the bill continuing on. So the Senate Dems wouldn't even be able to vote to begin debating it until Saturday, and the government shutdown will have been triggered. They will then begin a “Constructive Reconvening” on 1 AM Sat.

This is a procedural vote, not to vote on the bill, but just to begin debating it. 60 votes are needed to get past this step - given McConnell's bitch boy behavior he will probably demand everyone vote yes on this. Let's say it does pass. The bill will go on to starting debates, and opponents will have 30 hours (with a limit of 1 hour for each Senator) of floor time to filibuster. So the Senate could potentially only get on to the actual bill itself at 8 AM Sunday. And then they have to hold ANOTHER vote to get to the bill itself. That one only requires a majority (51) of votes though.

So now the Senate gets to actually discussing the bill. That group of Republican dissidents I mentioned above could cuck quickly, in which case they could fairly swiftly move on to properly voting on the bill itself. The stopgap bill itself only needs those 51 votes to be passed, and then the shutdown would be ended. But what if they don't cuck, and start filibustering? Then Schumer would have to file cloiture to break the filibuster, again, so he could get to the ending debate stage. He'd have to wait 1 day, Monday, then get back to discussing the bill at 1 AM next Tuesday.

At this point, if the dissident Republican senators have somehow managed to not all cuck by this point, they could filibuster for 30 more hours, allowing the Senate to finally vote on the bill on 8 AM next Thursday. The government would have been in a shutdown for 4 days, and the schedule of Congress Democrats for the rest of December would be badly delayed by this ungodly skirmishing action.

This is a worst case scenario. It probably won't happen as I described it. However, if any group of Republicans in the Senate thinks it's worth sacrificing a week's worth of sleep to prevent vaccine mandates from being rolled out, it might happen. By the way, this is why the Senate never does anything productive.
TL;DR Build Back Better ain't happening this month

The Face of Science (R) further showed what a weasel he is at a press conference today.

This past weekend I caught the remaining half of a Cary Grant
movie, which took place in early days of WWII. One of the characters, who is a Nazi collaborator, had this monologue that is frighteningly accurate in Western countries.
The masses don't want to think, they want it done for them. Why not let a few great minds do their thinking. It's coming to that very soon. Individual thinking can be very dangerous, especially for the individual. To go a step further, there's one thing more dangerous than individual thinking, and that's talking. Expressing your thoughts.

Well, it seems that the US courts are blocking federal mandates on the subject, I haven't seen them stopping the states from mandating themselves, so it will go to the states is the best bet.

How big of a L would it be if Roe v Wade was overturned under Biden's presidency?

Probably the biggest since Nixon at least.
Actually having RvW overturn would be the best thing that can happen to Biden's Presidency

If abortion is kicked back to the states to determine if it's legal or not? Then the Democrats will have the necessary event to revitalize/reenergy the base and local/state branches in 2022 to a degree, that the GOP advantages in 2022 will be erased ENTIRELY.

2022 will no longer be a slam dunk for the GOP, a referrendum on Biden and bringing necessary checks to his reign of terror. It will be 100% about "protecting abortion rights" and the DNC, flush with donations after RvW is overturned, will be able to launch a full 50 state onslaught to take control over ALL the states in the US purely on the basis that "to protect abortion rights, we must control the state level governments of every 50 states". Which in turn will feed into the Congressional races, allowing the Democrats not only to preserve their majority in Congress but also potentially gain a super-majority too and permanent control over the state governments off of the DNC arguing the fear mongering prospect that ANY vote that isn't for a Democrat, is a vote to make abortion a crime under the notion that if the Republicans ever take back a state government, then their first priority would be to make abortion illegal.

Then again, abortions are about choosing while mandates are about forcing you to do something.
This will probably be the cornerstone of legal arguments regarding vax mandates if RvW gets overturned. I can already here the half-assed gotchas from the left about 'hurrdurr what about my body my choice, chuds?", assuming they aren't all collectively shrieking and crying the moment the verdict doesn't go their way.

Dry postulating aside, I agree, there's a world of difference between the issues of abortion and vaccine mandates. One deals with determining what is a legally acceptable definition of bodily autonomy for pregnant women on a federal level and the other is regarding the the issue of being forced to take an experimental shot(s) in the arm under the threat of losing of one's ability to work, travel and engage in commerce.
