Why? Xenforo is opensource. Not a legal sense, but in a technical sense because its just php.
Null can read, edit and and modify it how he wants. Cut out parts and replace them with new RUST shit slowly as the site goes along until its all replaced. There is no need shut the site down to do a hard cut over to something else. And since there is no more official support it doesn't matter if he forks this software and modifies it to fit his needs. He can just never legally distribute it.

"Technical" in some sense but the PHP code is made completely incomprehensible before public distribution so people don't do exactly this. Not actually an excerpt from xF because I'm lazy but it looks something like so:

Honestly, don't knock Erlang. If you can express your problem in recursive functions, you can throw it on a Threadripper and it will chew through your tasks with incredible speed and concurrency. The model lends itself to parallelism. It was designed for network gear and it's damn good at tasks like that.

The problem is the code reads like fucking aliens made it.

No. It's actually a decently-designed language with some good ideas. From a purely technical standpoint.

However the project has huge influence from the language police that took over at Mozilla (and then was inherited by the Rust Foundation). The same kind of people that screamed about terminology like "slave node".

So things like keywords in Rust are trooned to fuck and back, but they haven't done damage to it from a structural standpoint.

EDIT: This did mean they would do stuff like try to exclude contributors who were "problematic", but I wonder if the current exodus of jannies from the project is a result of people being sick of their shit.

Because they're not needed when the previous stuff already works fine. There's a momentum to old tech -- you have to develop the fuck out of something new to have it actually gain enough support to be a viable replacement.

Rust is still relatively young so it does suffer a bit from specification changes, but there's nothing inherently wrong with it. The justice warriors don't try to do stuff like respect the gender identity of functions, etc. It's mostly just people whining about terminology, getting pissed off at off-color comments in the repo, or getting mad that a Republican dared to think that his branch should be merged.

EDIT: As far as the core team goes, they inherited Ashley Williams from the NodeJS debacle. That's a lolcow worthy story on its own. The thing is, actual devs are still trying to contribute good code. It's just overlayed with SJW bullshit workplace drama. Not ideal for a project, but they're not trying to create a programming language that somehow uses technical means to enforce social justice. The compiled code is apolitical.

Yes, if you look at it from that perspective, in the same sense that an Su-27 is a communist fighter jet. Tons of party bullshit in the development but in the end it's just a fighter jet.

To do anything remotely possible in a programming language, because I am so fucking stupid, I'm going to be doing stackoverflow searches and begging for help. I really don't want to have to cope with troons and shit. I'd rather beg for help from relatively normal autists.

Fair enough. Just because the development team is kinda pozzed doesn't mean that everyone who uses it is. I can see why people wouldn't want to be involved with it at all, but on the other hand that's like SJWs not wanting to use something because it came from an evil cis white male.

Like, going back to the communist example, there were tons of non-Tankie AK enthusiasts even before the Soviet Union fell.

But yeah if I had an actual question for the dev team themselves that could get really annoying. Though there are some based troons among them they just have to keep their heads down.
