US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

For all the talk about Manchin sticking it to the dems, he caves like he always does, even something as simple as blocking funding for vaccine mandates. Sinema too.

edit: for some good feels, Trump was interviewed by Farage, the full interview

Two Republicans missed the vote? Looks like the uniparty is back in action. There was no reason to not force Kamala in as a tie breaker here. WTF are the Republicans doing?

Oh, right, 'losing with dignity'.

I'm just waiting for Gehenna to explain away this one, because I'm not seeing how we can square this with the idea of Manchin working with the GOP. I can't imagine vaccine mandates are popular in his state.
There... isn't a readily available explanation. He had mentioned support for it earlier and rescinded said support without comment.

Something behind the scenes changing?
A knife in the dark?
A different deal being made?

Why isn't "it's all kayfabe" an option exactly?
The main reason, this will actually hurt him in his state. It's a bad call, and actually quite confusing. Will need to keep an eye on Manchin to see if another pattern emerges.

Though it could be just that, a bad call on something 'easy' to give in to, to maintain his Democrat credentials.

its never going to stop until some butt fuck in new ganyi get his vaccine.:punished:
Even if everyone magically got the vaccine and every anti-vaxer disappeared, they're not gonna stop the authoritarian shit. They'll just move the goalpost. Add another booster shot and "effective immediately" everyone who doesn't have it is unvaxed.

Well I mean, why were two Rs not there?

As it is his vote would have forced a Kamala tiebreak. I see why people believe in the Uniparty, this is just ridiculously convenient for everyone involved.
Hagerty (R-TN) and Thune (R-SD).

Both RINOs, Hagerty had a large part in Trump's transition team.... and more than a little part in picking the Establishment rot that entered it. And Thune is... well, Thune.

I doubt he runs for re-election. He's 74 years old and is next up in 2024. I like Joe Manchin, but despite being a socially moderate left of center guy; he's alone in the Democratic Party at this point. Given he nearly lost in '18, he'll likely hang things up unless something happens between now and then.

Hagerty? I can't argue Thune. He's a symptom of the moderate GOP minority that has skillfully dominated the midwest.

Bussy also made the mistake of believing his rough trade boys were going to stay loyal to him and not flip on the cops to save their own asses.

What a fucking moron.
Hagerty has made a lot of bluster on things like election fraud, but his words have never been backed by truthful action. Additionally, he was the main guy behind presidential appointments to various seats in the executive office,

And we saw how compromised those were.

I bet this is just cover for when the database gets passed. 'Looked we voted against the mandates so ignore we are creating government databases on people!' I wouldn't be surprised if the GOP worked to get Manchin and Sinema to vote for this.
Maybe they already have the database and this is just window dressing. Many of the old dinosaurs in charge are from an era when centralization was the norm. If Snowden did anything right, it was proving the NSA was going above and beyond in spying.

Maybe Ted Cruz and Styx are right that Manchin is a snake and a Democrat just trying to act not woke while voting like 90 percent with the party.

Manchin's behavior feels odd. I'll concur that when a little more time passes, and Manchin votes on or says more things, the justification for why he's acting the way he's acting will become more obvious.

In some more light-hearted news: Lin Wood released some emails claiming that Tucker Carlson went to Hunter in 2014 and begged that he write a letter of recommendation to Georgetown University for Tucker's son. Tucker's son didn't go to Georgetown but it begs a bunch of questions, one of them being how Lin has the emails in the first place.

e: Apparently Lin Wood got this screenshot from David Clements, who himself got it from a source named 'G', who got it from Terpsichore Maras-Lindeman. The fuck's going on?

Imagine asking a degenerate like Hunter Biden for a letter of recommendation though to be fair, he was the VP's son at the time and hey, even if Hunter is a degenerate, his political standing is enough for anyone to get into America's elite Ivory Towers of nepotism and smug horseshit.

One of the key roles of Manchin in the Senate is to prevent Republicans from ever having to deliver. He's not the Democratic equivalent of Susan Collins, who is legitimately a pretty liberal Republican from a state whose Republicans are legitimately pretty liberal. As annoying as it is when she votes with the Dems, she's usually doing so when that's what actual Maine voters want.

Manchin, by contrast, only votes with the Republicans when it really doesn't matter that much, but shows up for his part when something important is on the line. That gives him cover with WV voters, who will continue to see him as a "conservative, labor-friendly Democrat" and not elect a Republican. See, if a Republican took that seat, there's a serious risk that he might be the sort who will do what West Virginians want and embarrass the rest of the Republican Party.

Manchin is the last major Democrat politician in West Virginia

I saw that /r/conspiracy last night. But it looks like a screenshot of a video or live stream. Unless it can be proven, I'm calling bullshit. Not because I'm staning for Tucker, but the chain of command is long.

The GOP pulled out all the stops to throw that election. Manchin was extremely vulnerable, so they ran the biggest shill for Big Pharma alive in a state ravaged by opioids.

TN was R+23 in 2020. SD was R+26. These are not moderately Republican states. The reason the GOP has these guys in the Senate is to neutralize the voters.

Of course, this very likely could be - no, probably is - a forgery. The chain of custody is quite long on the screenshot and most of the people in that chain of custody are grifters and/or mentally ill people. Terpsichore for example claims to be a time traveller, a M.D., a PhD, says she was "military intelligence" and convinced people to donate money to what they thought was a homeless charity so she could spend it at Target and hair salons. These aren't reliable sources. But I thought it was funny.
