I remember Left 4 Dead 2 (should've called it Left 5 dead) got some flack for portraying black zombies. There defense was that there are black people in New Orleans = there are black zombies in New Orleans. Make sense to normal people, but those were much more innocent times. I think some games would just got immideately attacked by twitter. Like for example GTA San-Andreas

I love when Jim gets so butthurt at people criticizing him and in the same breathe says he is the happiest he has ever been and that people hate him for his happiness. No you are not happy Jim. I know this because happy people don't get hanged up over criticism or are opiate addicts. I have never meet a drug addict who is happy. meh the trap question was pretty overblown, it was a knee jerk reaction hardly indicative of anything, TB being hated by those people after the GG situation as well wouldn't really help.
Dude had a good support structure, a good family, a solid career that actually evolved as time went by and he actually seemed to enjoy playing video games for a change, and wanted them to do better instead of just whining non-stop and being jaded about his job like a lot of the people in that "area" that trooned out were. He also didn't seem to resent his audience.
At the end of the day nobody can say for sure if he would've went down this road or not, but I find it highly unlikely.

I think TotalBiscuit would "denounce" the "transphobes" Jim keeps complaining about, but I don't think he'd go much further than that.

By the end of his life TB wasn't very close to Jim (not that they were all that close to begin with), and although I have no doubt he'd parrot the woke talking points as a matter of course (plus his wife was already quite woke at the time), TB had something that clashed with Jim's current situation: a sense of dignity. Sure, he was definitely capable of making fun of himself, but he fancied himself a professional and there were definitely jokes he saw as beneath him. And if he kept to his usual work schedule, he wouldn't have enough time to be terminally online on twitter. That seems to be the key factor on most gaming lolcows these days, tranny or not.

This tweet sums modern Jim up perfectly. Kneejerk, hyperbolic reaction to something he has surface-level knowledge of (at best), with zero effort to elaborate or put forward an argument beyond 'I don't like/understand it, so it's bad'.

I still don't understand crypto that well, but I know enough to know this reaction makes no sense. I guess now the lootbox teat has been milked to the point of producing only dust crypto/NFTs are Jim's new dead horse.

In ideological terms: low-information lefties don't like crypto because it's been hammered into their heads that it's bad for the environment due to how much electricity those calculations require. And you gotta save the world, y'all!

In practical terms: low-information voters (in general) are pawns to moneyed interests and both strong centralized governments and banks hate crypto since it gives the peasantry a way to operate outside of their control.
