Any possibility of having a SVG containing all the lines and modifying the line attributes in whatever is rendering it? Lines should have color settings and adjustable opacity.
Can you (general you) do that? How can I access the svg line attributes? I have a giant gaping void where "graphics" knowledge goes. Like somewhere in the svg file there are a bunch of coordinates and properties, but I don't know how to see/change them.

I don't know what "render" means. But the image file gets picked up in MATLAB. And I made the file in Visio. Both of these may be terminal problems...

Rendering is making a visual representation of the XML data stored inside an SVG file, in this instance. I've never worked with Visio, but it should still be legible XML. The idea behind my suggestion is that a file is just storage. It cannot know which permutation of lines and colors you need from it at any given time. You would need to do extra processing after opening it in your environment. For Matlab, there's one and two. The first example is simpler and demonstrates loading and plotting functions (no curves though, second does more of that). Load the file once as XML, process it with a function based on an example loader, plot. If the lines are super simple and straight, you could probably rig something up with a CSV file for the processor function.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

What's a good option for watching 2, 4, 6, 9, etc. different video streams from various sources at once? Kind of like the riot multi-streamers do.

Is it better to just manually resize and snap different windows together, or is there some web app or software (Linux or Windows) that can manage it well? Some streams could be loaded by applications like VLC, but others probably require a web browser.

Just mpv it and snap each instance to a corner with whatever the hell the windows key is called...meta? super? + arrow keys.

If the default win+arrow keys starts to give you trouble, and they will, you should look into this.

Fancy Zones extends and lets you configure the normal windows snapping ares. It's free.

edit: FUCK! I thought the edit went through after posting, but it's earlier where he shows how to snap the windows to the spaces you make. Hold shift, drag a window and it will size itself to the zone where it is dropped. Here's how it looks, this is what I wanted to show https://youtu.be/rTtGzZYAXgY?t=83

I think I broke my secondary monitor.

It had a smudge on it, so I wiped it off with a wet rag. I think I got some water on the capacitive buttons because the screen turned on while I was cleaning it. Nothing seemed wrong, though, and I used it for 8 hours after that.
When I got up to leave the computer, I tried pressing the capacitive power button. The monitor wouldn't turn off. I put the computer to sleep, and the monitor did not display the "no signal" message but rather stayed on displaying a black screen.

The monitor has no physical on/off switch so I disconnected the power cord. Now the monitor won't turn on. Windows recognizes it's plugged in, and connecting/disconnecting the Display Port cord briefly flashes another monitor proving something is being detected by the PC. Nothing is displayed on the screen, though, and the backlight isn't on. I'm still able to move windows onto the monitor or take screenshots of it just like it's there and everything's normal.

tl;dr bolded

Is there anything I can do? What should I try? It's a Dell U2415.

That's probably corrosion. Is it under warranty?

I doubt it, it's 6 years old.
The odd thing is it worked just fine all day after the possible exposure to moisture.
I'm convinced it's just the button that's messed up. I wonder how to work around that. It's a good monitor it'd be a shame to trash it just for a button.
All I know about board repair is from watching Louis Rossmann, so don't take this as an expert opinion.
The touch control IC might be slightly corroded. I don't know if the repair would be economically viable or even possible.

I had the exact same issue with my U2410 not that long ago(it is also using some kind of capacative buttons), power button not reacting or lighting up, no backlight.

It happened over night and when waking up to the login screen Windows won't start the any other screen so I initially thought the computer had locked up but after a power cycle the problem remained. Like you I tried different things and assumed it had died.

What fixed it for me was that after unplugging both screen and computer I then went and did other things for a while. Then put the power cable in another power socket like it was a USB issue . It worked, I'm still using the same screen. My assumption afterwards was that the screen had just crashed and letting it sit without power for an hour somehow did something about it.

I have worked in IT and understand these things and know how to professionally bill people when the problem resolves itself.

Setting up Cygwin competently is harder than actually installing Linux if you don't know what you're doing. Reminds me of the old days where you had to manually tick each package.
Hi, was hoping you could add more information to this since the command line window is currently glaring at me in an intimidating manner. I am trying to run an obscure set of programs and their instructions stopped after "download cygwin." I left all the packages included.

It's embarrassing how long this is taking me.

I have determined that there are FORBIDDEN CARRIAGE RETURNS in the script files. I think my computer is going to be running the conversion for the rest of the night.

But I found it...

I am not ready to agree that installing Linux would be easier. But I am close.

I'm sorry friend, this is a rites of passage.

RTFM

Me again...can one of you fill me in on SIM-Card hacking, to recieve text messages intended for some other phone number? I heard this was a way to break 2-factor authentication if the code is sent in text message, is this something which is possible?
