"angry" gamers/critics

Asexuality isn't real, and anyone who says otherwise is a massive twatwaffle.
I'm a twatwaffle then.

Anyways, back to critics:

So I generally like Spoony's counter monkeys; I like talking shop and would like to go gaming more often than I do. But his attitude is very wannabe greybeard; the type of oldfag shit where he bitches about games being made to be more acceptable while noting he can still play earlier editions if he felt like it.

He also has a patronizing tone at times, especially since he tends to actively tell people how to play while pretending to not do that, and it really gets emphasized with his decision to never allow comments on his videos again.

A lot of people hate Spoony's vlogs period, though I'd bet that's more frustration that they're taking up his time instead of reviews. But Counter Monkey is worth a watch for really anyone even tangentially into tabletop gaming. I think it's unscripted Spoony at his best (just given the subject matter; he has passion for it) and his oldfag angst only surfaces here and there. His D&D 5E review is nothing but that, but CM is mostly him recounting notable games.

The funniest part is that he couldn't play earlier editions "if he felt like it" because he's said so himself (re: some fan complaints) that there's nobody he can play with. Around 3 1/2 years ago he GMed a Pathfinder game online with some friends, but it never finished. I believe that's his last contact with tabletop RPGs. And this was before he moved across the country, where IIRC he not only has no friends (justifiably, he only plays w/ people he knows) but his internet friends don't have time or interest.

Not coincidentally, lots of people asked for a reward to play an RPG with him online when he was planning out his Patreon, but he settled on CAH instead, I believe because of time and practical issues (there's obviously no limit the amount of things that could go wrong with trying to make a D&D game out of obsessed fanboy strangers.)

I kind of like Drawn Together. It wasn't amazing but it had it's moments. Couldn't believe the movie killed off the Princess so early on.

And Animated Atrocities is (are?) garbage.

Rebeltaxi eclipses Animated Atrocities:

Yeah. I loved Rebeltaxi's review of the Jem movie.

Most of the people from Mr. Coat & Friends are pretty cool IMHO.

Alot of people seem split on this review,Me personally i don't mind the review but it i still love this movie.

The speds that watch the critic often find it hard to understand how you can have a different opinion compared to the critic they obsessively follow. They are not capable of fighting off their brand loyalty due to autistic rage at one thing they sperg about coming into conflict with another thing they sperg about.

Their are the few that disagree with his views on the movie,But i believe that other people didn't think it was funny or that it had clips form the movie.Again i thought it was good review with some good bits.

I got maybe 3-4 minutes in and I started to skip forwards to see an actual review but it never happened. I was thinking: "Oh, the entire video is the sketch... Oh and here's pointless cameo's from Channel Awesome reviewers... I'm done now."

The sketches are rarely funny and the Walkers must know that, right?

Don't know if they know their not funny or ignore that criticism.Much like people in CA they don't take constrictive criticism properly.

Is there any image that doesn't have him open mouthed?

That's the norm now. Blame Markiplier and his 'oh-so-funny' photoshopped thumbnails.

I will say something about NC reviews, the cartoons that Marobot used were actually pretty good.

If they do, then they're not telling that to their audience. If not, then I still can't feel any sympathy for them, because it's still pretty damn stupid.

Yeah, I miss those. But I think it's for the best he left.

I think part of the continued existence of the sketches is the Walkers trying to justify having a freaking studio. And once you have a studio like that, it's kinda hard to go back to filming in your basement. Sure, it would be cheaper but by letting go of the studio, Doug would have to admit he's not as much of a big shot success he wants to be. That and downsizing just looks bad on his part.

True, but if that were the case, it'd have been easier to not have bought the studio in the first place. Or even start Demo Reel.

If he were honest, he'd just stick to making more money as NC and never go back on that. Nowadays he's just "The Everything Critic". Doesn't that more or less negate the whole Nostalgia part of his name if he does that?
