Diseased Neo-Pagans / Witches on the Internet / Witchblr - SMT IRL, but with fatties

Clearly, Crowley was actually a real wizard.

This is making me imagine reboot Doom but instead of all the over the top scary screaming demon things.. just a bunch've big-headed 1960s sci-fi aliens in cheap polyester capes. The close ups of them getting punched would just be followed by a balloon deflating noise.

Even if you think demons are about as real as unicorns, you have to admit that the fact a guy who did everything he could to summon a demon and said it looked like a stereotypical picture of an alien is kind of creepy.
Unicorns are real, bro, just not in the magical sense. You can make them at home. All you need is an infant goat and questionable ethics.

It's accomplished by fucking with the horn buds.

People already do some odd things with goats but this one is in contention for some of the best just doing weird shit to animals mentions. Somebody thought to themselves 'Y'know what I bet I can make a fucked up unicorn' then accomplished it reason be damned.

In this case, that someone was Oberon Zell-Ravenheart.
He's got an Amazon author page!

What a time to be alive.
Man just unironically running around pretending to be Elminster but in real life. For a brief moment I find myself understanding the urge why some bullies just felt the need to tear into kids. An undeniable urge to slap the hat off his head.

Wait til you hear him talk:
Personally, I prefer the Aliens Are Fairies hypothesis.
Oh no, that one gets bundled into it too. They claim it's all the same phenomenon writ large.

His books look like 3e D&D game books. I'd ask if we sure he isn't a very dedicated troll, but I think he's just honestly unhinged enough to believe in The Gospel According To Gygax.

Do they believe in Hollow Earth, too? I hope so. I love it when I can get all my crazy in one package.

Like this docu:

Wait til you hear him talk:
Not going to TMI but his voice instantly rang so many bells reminding me of some very wishy-washy and self important people. Chuunibyou types but instead of all powerful world shattering power or importance its a sort've mythical understanding and wisdom. Wouldn't trust this man with a bag of M&Ms let alone spiritual life.

There it is again, that focus on "Being yourself" and "Finding yourself" as the highest virtue in their ideology.
Someone more autistic than me has probably made a diagram showing the origin, evolution and divergence of all this new-age crap, but all I can do is blame the hippies and Rousseau for its general ethos. Not even Herbert Marcuse encouraged that level of solipsism.

Libperel Shite aside, Rationalwiki has a great article regarding these wannabe witches
To be fair Wicca was pretty much 20th century new-age crap to begin with so no wonder it's overrun with fluff bunnies now.
It's kinda funny how these nutjobs are unwittingly attempting to prove the witch hunts right. I mean the issue with the Salem trials wasn't that they were witches but that they obviously weren't and were murdered by mass hysteria. If the women really were witches placing curses on people and deforming unborn fetuses and consorting with demons then there wouldn't have been a problem.
Reminds me of how most horror movies about witches or Salem always end up doing the same thing in their fiction--proving the witch hunts were in the right. It's like making a Jewish Holocaust movie where halfway through or in the last 1/3 it shows that, yes, the Jews really are a massive evil cabal and Hitler was right to murder them all.

Also "goblincore" has a lot of meme potential in light of Goblin Slayer...
Well there are lots of leftists who like to draw attention to the fact that the books the Nazis burned were mostly about trooning people out, so at least they're somewhat consistent. Also there was a made-for-TV Austrian feel-good film set in the early 50s where a Jew literally named Goldberg gets a niglet (fathered by an American GI of course) into a posh Viennese boys' choir, and immediately starts teaching them jazz routines. It's not straight-up saying that the Jews really were plotting to remake the world in their image and Hitler tried and failed to stop them, but it's pretty close.

Powerlevel alert! I've known OZ for many years. He's actually kind of a fascinating figure -- a dude so inspired by the early-Boomer Robert Heinlein novel Stranger in a Strange Land, and its naked sex cult The Church of All Worlds, seriously enough to found it as a real-life religion, and keep it going for almost six decades. In my mind he's more of an old-fashioned eccentric spiritual/cultural visionary than a true lolcow, and has pretty much lived exactly the way he's wanted to since the mid-Sixties -- something almost nobody else can boast.

First, that actually sounds amazing.
Second, just to be clear, I wasn't bringing him up as a potential cow, just as the kind of eccentric madman he clearly is; the kind of guy to sit back and say "Yeah, I could make a unicorn. Why not?"
Internet pagans would be a million times more fun if they did more shit like that and less shit like this:

It used to be fun, creative, and a healthy outlet for cultural and spiritual misfits. As with so many other scenes, its exploitation by mainstream pop culture, and the inevitable entry of wokies and militant troons into positions of influence, largely ruined it for everyone else.

I've been on TikTok tonight. Please enjoy my findings:

so how much lsd does he do per day

"Skipping church" because if you went to church you wouldn't be degenerate faggots who think both of you putting on a skirt makes it lesbianism.

So I don't know how many of you have seen this:
But there's a backstory and now I need to burden you all with the knowledge thereof.
See, first thing you need to know is that there's a theory that UFOs aren't physical, and that they're a psychic phenomenon that has accompanied humans throughout the ages that takes the form of whatever is in the popular conciousness. That's why we used to see demons and shit, and now it's aliens.
This is the "Interdimensional hypothesis" as opposed to the "extraterrestrial hypothesis" with which most people are already familiar.
@Flaming Insignias
So these people are basically arguing that the so-called aliens may actually be supernatural entities, and people are taking it seriously? Alex Jones deserves an apology for his talk about demons then!

That was quite literally an episode of Supernatural. In 2010.

so how much lsd does he do per day
Far as I can tell, he's mainly a pothead these days. The dude turns 80 next year, so I'm guessing his days of tripping the light fantastic are long behind him. (Although I can see OZ doing an Aldous Huxley and having someone dose him with LSD just before he "disincorporates.")

kind of creepy
This is probably the least creepy thing about Crowley. Look into his little cult, the people he was involved with or their connections to the NASA JPL. For some reason occultists find themselves connected to every organisation with even a little sway or relevance.
Personally, I prefer the Aliens Are Fairies hypothesis.
Counter theory: how about aliens and fairies are demons

I ran into a large amount of neopagans and and they fall into two camps weirdos who hate Christians and don't understand paganism
And probably left weirdos who hate Christian and don't understand paganism both are equally as insufferable
Because at the end of the day most neo-pagans are just atheist with extra steps
Most of these people legitimately don't believe the Odin can make his self manifest in the World and has power over reality

This is actually really fascinating subject, like what is belief? Can you will yourself to believe ridiculous nonsense you must intellectually be aware is just straight up not true? I'd say yes. I wouldn't say most pagans here are atheist, but definitely a chunk of them, not disputing that. Another chunk also believes in archetypes and perennial European paganism, which is like...not-atheism, sort of like Interpretatio graeca, believing different Gods are different names for the same thing. This group also overlaps with Esoteric Nazis who believe Hitler is literally a God. Savitri Devi indo-europeanism etc.

And then the last group is that managed to meme themselves into believing thunder is created by Gods fucking and world was born from the egg of a waterfowl. Yes, they exist. They just managed to bend their mind to the point they could believe anything. I guess you could call it de-rationalization. Some people who study cults say a lot of people join for the community, and pay lip service to the beliefs, and later buy fully into them. At first they're larping, but the larp becomes real.

I have seen this process happen. A Christian Identity-Atomwaffen adjacent guy, who went from a regular Christian, to racist Christian, and as he started seeing Jewish conspiracies everywhere, he decided evolution didn't exist either and finally stopped believing in globular earth. Like Christian Varg. If you give it time, and surround yourself "with the community" you can literally start believing anything. It's more like inevitability than possibility. You know how some western people kidnapped by muslim extremists convert themselves and join the community and marry? Same deal. I guess the saving grace in USA is that there's no cult-like pagan community with which to surround yourself 247 outside of forums. Or maybe there is, I dunno.
