Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Nexpo's video is pretty alright. All of the cases he covers are fairly interesting and obscure. He still needs to tone it down on acting like everything is haunting and spooky, but overall this is a major step up from "Liminal spaces are terrifying and keep me awake at night".
A channel I usually enjoy a lot that does a similar type of vidya stuff that crosses over into creepy territory surprisingly often is OddHeader. The best examples that come to mind would be his video on Tetsuo and his segment on Ben & Ed, which is still one of my favorite game-related rabbit holes.

Oddheader is great, I really liked the rabbit hole he directed me to when I learnt about the Trials ARG/Riddle through him.

Glad to see Nexpo making a decent video. It didn't come off as annoying as other videos of his and at this point his narration just makes me laugh a bit.
On another note I really wish Cayleigh Elyse didn't delete her channel. Her true crime videos were the best and I like how she didn't insert alarmist claims ala Kendall Ray or other makeup tier true crime youtubers. It's good she left for her mental health and thankfully most of her videos are archived but when she left the true crime community really got consumed by glassy eyed bimbos on YT. Hope she's still doing well, I miss her silly spooky story videos too

I have to disagree on Nexpo's newest video being anything of value. We've entered the Nigger tier of horror by centering RPGMaker games, running fake "glitches" that are basic event commands and showing spoopy pictures of mummies and wannabe Hong Kong 97 corpse imagery.

I saw! I have it downloaded to my phone already. It'll make for a good listen while at the gym. Hoping it's another good explanation vid (and that the editing is tolerable)
Wendigoon used scream bye at tge end of vids and rerecord his natration at sime points and it was so much louder than the rest if the sound it made it hard to watch even tho I always enjoy the content.

Oddheader does a far better job at researching his topic than what Nexpo tried doing for his video. He picks from a variety of games and not just horror or the abstract, adding variety so every video feels fresh.
Nexpo, on the other hand, kind of missed the mark on this one. The Schnell mystery was kind of interesting, but it didn't really go anywhere other than another dead end. I believe the glitch in that obscure horror game was already covered by Goose Boose and the "corpse" in Museum of Anything Goes was actually a pig corpse, Vinny freaked out because if it were a human, he'd get banned.

Personally, I was only able to get through maybe 1/4th of the new Nexpo video before quitting. I found it rather boring and predictable, and I just got lost in the dull narrative. I really miss his earlier content where he'd find random obscure creepy shit around the net and talk about in list format: it was a lot more interesting and straightforward. Mind you, he was even called Nightmare Expo back then.
I couldn't remember her name, but I recognize her now. I thought her videos were okay and that she was also kind of cute, personally. She had kind of a Riley Reid or even Laci Green look to her, and definitely didn't follow suit of those cringy makeup/true crime clickbait channels.
Speaking of clickbait channels, MrBallen hasn't uploaded in a few weeks – in fact, his last upload was that one about the transgender Power Rangers murderer (wow, what a fucking weird description!). Sort comments by new and people also point out that he randomly disappeared; albeit as I'm currently looking through it now, people are claiming that he's still active on Facebook of all places. Maybe he took a break and set up scheduled posts for his fan page?

I watched the new video, and I never thought I'd hear Vinesauce be referenced on a Nexpo video. It wasn't bad, but you're right, he did sort of miss the mark.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, it is nearly impossible to cover anything original about horror, especially if it's about videogames. You would either have to get lucky and find something no other YouTuber has talked about or create something completely new. I dislike Oddheader, every video is just his discord users doing the legwork and research and him making a dull 8 minute long video reading their posts verbatim.

I think the only thing I really like about him is that he showcases all the weird shit, and that it's in one video so when I'm bullshitting around I don't have to look up and sift through a bunch of other videos. Laziness basically.
I remember him bringing up Kanye Quest and how it could potentially send your personal information to a bad actor during that one segment of the game (It's some crackhead ARG attempt). If you know the engine it's made in then you realize his claims fall entirely flat. Like mf clearly did not understand or look in depth of whoever told him about Kanye Quest.

He at least uncovered newer information about it. Others covered schnell before this and concluded that the youtuber who also developed the game posted those 4chan threads about it too, but didn't actually contact the guy like nexpo did. Never heard about the spaces game either and how it was tied to it. Does seem to me like the weird face character that is supposedly tied to the mystery yet cannot be contacted and every game he existed in is shut down seems like a tryhard version of that horse face guy from world.com.
