We need to now if it’s possible to transfer old Arcee headsculpts onto this SS one without any hassle. This has potential to be the Arcee figure.
 
Seriously, why couldn't the people who worked on this Arcee also do the 86 one?

But no, instead we're gonna get another fucking ER repaint. :(

It’s probably the Selects release called “Guard” and the first single release of the ER Ironhide mold.
 
Looking forward to some of the Bumblebee designs. I'll have to get a few Arcees and Ratchets for some custom paint jobs, maybe kitbash too.

Looking forward to the Diaclone Ironhide (Protection Black Irionhide). Now I just need a yellow taxi or florescent yellow Ratchet (Emergency Green).

So Jackpot’s weird head is widespread, the two halves of his head are sculpted wrong/misaligned/both and mine’s coming this week. The “face” looks fine on all the samples I’ve seen so it seems to be a matter of shaving down some parts till it’s even then repainting.

I cancelled mine as soon as I saw this. Stupid as fuck. Guess Hasbro's QC department was asleep at the wheel when they were making this head sculpt.

If they fix it in a later run or something maybe I'll buy it. But for now I think the only Gold Disk thing I'll be getting is Terrorsaur and that's it.

Those Bumblebee SS figures have me so much more excited than “Legacy” which looks kinda like poopoo, not all of it, but the glaring majority. No partsforming, inappropriate translucent plastic and no ghetto engineering. Just pure kino.

I would imagine he’s being saved for last, alongside Waruder redecos of the Insecticons. But he’ll likely be called “Magna Convoy.”

I would image they handed a “nobody” like Jackpot to a diversity hire or something along those lines. They massacred my boy, but I’m gonna fix him.

Puffer and Road Ranger are shipping soon, though it looks like Tigatron and Terrorsaur are still shipping at their original dates.

I like how Legacy looks more than a lot of people seem to but I can't deny that so far next year's Studio Series stuff seems way more interesting to me.

But that could easily change if things like BW Inferno, Jhiaxus, TM2 Megs etc. turn out well.

Jhiaxus is the big one for me, I really hope that they get him right. Ideally he would’ve been a chunky Galvatron-esque Leader class but that’s a pipe dream. If the rumours are correct the robot mode is fire but the alt-mode is an afterthought.

SS is going in a fantastic direction, the designers are cleverly using characters who have no alt-modes. Meaning they get to innovate and create, giving us the closest thing to Transtech/FOC toylines that we’ll probably ever see. Can’t wait to see Shockwave at the Voyager scale.

That’s not even mentioning the Leader-class Fallen, which is something people have wanted for years.

Things are looking real good for SS, I think the last time I saw this level of hype for the line was when it debuted alongside POTP and made those figures look even worse than they were (a feat.)

New Mutant Tigertron doesn't look too bad. I feel like he needs a different mask though.

A lot of the super7 transformers ultimates figures look like utter dogshit, especially for the price. Compare them to the gi joe ultimates or TMNT ultimates it's like night and day in terms of character accuracy.
Compare the Super7 Megatron and Wreck Gar to shit like RED Megatron or Studio Series 86 Wreck Gar. It pisses me off how NEARLY there G2 megatron is to being good, but all 3 heads are different expressions locked to different helmets. the blue on the blue head is weird, the M on the chest button isn't even sculpted in and the orange part around it seems to just be paint detail rather than sculpt detail. These things are like 50-something dollars and the only one I can consider worth it is the fucking alligator lmao.

I’m with you on the helmet thing, that Sunbow head in G2 colours is a waste of plastic, should’ve been a neutral comic-styled head.

But I love the look of these things when they’re doing characters that fit the style, Bludgeon, Bombshell, Banzaitron, etc. I get why they can’t do all Action Masters/Pretenders and that’s why G2 Megatron is a good fit, Hasbro just relegated him to a cheap repaint and Super7 has kindly brought him from the muck and given the “be all end all” for a modern, CHUG G2 Megatron.

Most of the cost of any Ultimate figure comes from accessory count. Somehow smaller bits of plastic increases the cost by $20. The blue face is from the G2 comics, though you would also see the lavender face as well. I mostly remember the blue face from when Cobra gave him a new body.

The specific expression and two of the guns are from this (awesome) panel. But yes he did alternate blue and purple on occasion.

His thighs were also camouflaged in one panel as well. In the G2 comics he wasn't a bright green but closer to the small legends tank mode colour that was released like 15 plus years ago. He was only ever bright green in GI Joe comic and the toy.

This is why it was smart of Super7 to let you “build your own” G2 Megatron with the parts supplied, his design is so damn varied that everyone develops their “own” version of G2 Megatron.
Lavender face/grey face/blue face
Shoulder mounted tank gun/fusion cannon
Bright green/dark green
Stickers/no stickers

These are just the glaring variations, still wish he came with a hand holding a tiny Cobra Commander.

Still, in one year we’re getting Laser Prime, Jhiaxus and G2 Megatron. That’s all three dramatis personae for the G2 saga in one year.

His hands were also varied. Sometimes they were green, and that was before we learned he could manipulate electrons.

Not a bad size, Transforms nice and compact.

Not Transformers related, but has anyone checked out the ZBobtoys diorama sets? They're rather expensive but if you're into photography they would look good. They come in 1:6 and 1:12 scale. They're probably nicer than the FreshRetro 1:24 and 1:18 scale ones.
