He used said brush on the horses. [A]

It's years since I've had anything to do with horses but don't you usually brush them with a flatter plastic thing with short and thick 'bristles' then use the normal brush to clean out that one. Mind, I can't recall anyone just brushing a horse for the sake of it. It's usually done after a ride to pull the sweat away from the body so they don't get a chill. Any horsey people around to correct?

The real question is did he have to pay extra for the trans coloration? If I was Penny, I'd use a horse brush from the people I'd be babysitting the horses for, or find one at a nearby store. I'm sure you could get one from a thrift shop and sanitize it for cheaper. Hell, ask your neighbors to borrow one if they have a horse (*if they like you).

Best is to brush before the ride, when the horse is dry. You use the rough rubber brush (l) to loosen the dirt and the soft one (r) to clean and groom.

After the ride, you may use a sponge or cloth to dry the beast but brushing doesn't work well on a sticky, wet horse.

<sperge> Grooming is a relaxing experience for most horses. It's essential to their health and socialization and ideally should be done every day. They're using a dandy brush there, what you are thinking of a is a curry comb. </sperge> I am mildly encouraged by seeing one of these jackasses doing something so productive and actually beneficial, but get the strong feeling this was a one-time thing.
