Gathering and crossposting stuff from the vtuber thread.

Someone superchatted Nick last night asking him to collab with a vtuber called Pipkin Pippa.

"The Alex Jones of vtubers" is a cringe description, but Pipkin Pippa is a a vtuber with the Phase Connect management agency who sometimes makes ironic jokes about lizard people and not trusting feds and such, so maybe that's where the comparison comes from. She's aware of Internet culture in general and there's strong evidence she reads 4chan's vtuber board and possibly our thread too. Her 17.4k subs puts her in maybe the top 5% of active English-language vtubers (as the market is currently flooded with wannabes) but it's still well below even the less popular streamers for larger agencies like Nijisanji and Hololive. Still, her shitposter character has made her something of a universal favorite in our thread (and on /vt/ though they tend to be a bit creepier about her).

Pippa was made aware of the callout, and Nick seems to be sincere about opening dialogue with her:

I really have no idea what Pippa could talk about that's law-related or what Nick would want to talk about that's vtuber-related, and I'm sure having a cartoon rabbit on for a full segment would filter a lot of the new subscribers that came along with the Rittenhouse coverage, so I wouldn't be surprised if this never ends up happening. But if it does, I think there's some good potential for humor. nb4 "get Drex on for this one."

Maybe they'll discuss the Vtuber doxing/swatting drama and Vshojo not wanting to warn creators for some reason? That's all I can think of, but I'm not plugged into that space. Nux would be a better guest for that topic but I don't think he's going to be discussing it any time soon given how he was apparently burned by the company in question (never apologize).

Can someone point me to a summary of that whole debacle? I barely know it even happened and if it comes up I'd like to understand the background.

Which debacle? The Vshojo/Nux one? Executive summary: Someone has, for several months, been contacting indie vtubers (that is, vtubers not associated with an agency) and pretending to be staff at Vshojo (a significant English-exclusive agency) looking to recruit new talent, thus getting the streamers (who are usually anonymous) to dox themselves to the fake recruiter, who then released the dox. The phisher used email addresses with domain names which hosted clones of the real Vshojo site so there was some degree of sophistication to this. Nux Taku, an indie vtuber himself, found out about this when the culprit tried to do the same to him, but he caught on to the scam, and after looking into it further and talking to other victims, created and released a video about the situation. Nux had collaborated with some Vshojo streamers and had an in there, and Vshojo staff initially helped out in creating the video to an extent, but after the video is released and many vtuber fans criticized Vshojo for knowing for months this was happening and never doing anything to make indie vtubers aware of it (such as releasing a tweet saying "beware of people pretending to be us and asking for your personal info"), Vshojo flipped the script and claimed Nux released the video without their consent and that its release was "interfering with investigations by their cybersecurity team" and other such nonsense. Nux, wanting to remain on good terms with Vshojo, initially pulled his video, but after they and their streamers continued to misrepresent the circumstances behind the video's creation, started releasing receipts and basically made Vshojo management (who I will separate from their talent for this case) look even more like complete amateur-hour assholes for their handling of the situation from the beginning.

Of all people, former Ralph associate Flamenco did a pretty good stream about the controversy a couple weeks ago, including an impromptu interview with one of the doxing victims. It's worth a listen at least up until Flam joins someone else's stream and starts talking about fucking race realism or whatever.

Nux already cucked up and apologized tho and now they're all buddies again. At least till Nux gets cancelled again by his "friends".

This cop is giving more Yes's than a porno.

Engh could ask him "Did you jack off before taking the stand" and he'd just automatically agree.
