I always wonder how people that say stuff like "ban guns" in the context of America think it's going to actually be carried out (before I remember that they're SJWs and thinking things through to their logic conclusion is anathema to them, of course). I know that Australia banned several types after the Port Arthur mass shooting and did it by buying them back from their owners, but guns were never as widely proliferated there as they are in the States, and - by my impression at least, 'strayan Kiwis feel free to correct me - Australia never really had the "gun culture" America does.
To do something even vaguely similar, on a federal or even state level, in America would be
fucking impossible. Even for people not from America, I can't understand how you could be
this naive.
If they attempted to buy them all back Aussie-style, the expense would be preponderous even assuming owners would co-operate (which they absolutely wouldn't). Then there's the shitfit the massive NRA gun lobby would throw, not to mention that of gun owners themselves, who are ten a penny. No elected official would touch a universal or even broad ban, because it would be obvious electoral suicide. And if you decide to confiscate them rather than incur the expense of reimbursing the owners?

good luck with that, but I doubt there's enough hazard pay in all the foreign reserves of China to convince the state police, the fucking ATF, or the military to go in on that one. Although if any of these SJWs feel like going door-to-door in Texas or somewhere trying to round up a bunch of cattle driver's weapons as a preliminary experiment, they can be my guest and see how that goes.
