If Phil started to do just podcasts, he'd have nothing left to blame for his piss poor viewership. At least the games give him something to blame. Also they may attract him a new paypig once in a while.

Also a podcast would require Phil to talk for the entire time and his game commentary shows that he can't do even that.

I don't know. If Phil is talking about himself or about something that got sand in his crack, he can go on for fucking ever. He doesn't talk during games because he hates playing video them, hates his audience and, both those things notwithstanding, he isn't the least bit clever on the fly, just watch any video of his interactions with trolls that basically all can be summed up as him repeating back what they said in a stupid voice.

Unrelated, but it's hilarious listening to him right now bitching about 'greed' and chastising game companies because, 'They don't want to make anything artistic or good, they just want to do the same thing and get more money! That rind is just down to nothing and they just wanna keep SQUEEZING it for money and they don't realize you have to do something new every once in a while!' as if that doesn't perfectly describe his ramped up begging the last few months. 'New' like expecting more money for doing literally nothing to change your prestream except to give it a shitty name? That kind of 'new'? Jesus, what an idiot.

Regarding Phil's alleged alcoholism:

Phil has admitted that he drank a lot back in the day. Take his "Friend Request Ridicule" videos for example. You can tell he's wasted. Now consider that this was the same time he was working for the helicopter plant and living in his parent's house.

He did eventually move into the Connecticut condo, but his drinking didn't slow down.

He admits that he would come home from work and get drunk and play video games all night. He admits that he called in to work so he could play the day one release of some Spider-Man game or some shit.

He also claims he was the hardest worker at his job and the vice president of Sikorsky personally told him how great he was. The vice president of a $9 billion company personally congratulating a customer service rep. Doubtful on that one, Phil.

Phil's dad had worked for the company for more than 20 years. He went from a low level machine worker to middle management, and there is no doubt in my mind that he got Phil the job. I really don't know anything about Dave, but I suspect he didn't get his promotions by getting drunk every night and calling out of work to play video games.

Phil has stated in past vlogs that he hates shaving. His job had a strict policy that their employees had to look professional and not like a hungover slob. Somehow, Phil claims, he was able to lie to the management and tell them he had a medical condition and he couldn't shave everyday. If you watch videos from this era, you will also notice Phil's buzz cut hair style. It's my personal hypothesis that Phil had his hair cut almost bald so he didn't need to shower everyday, since we know he hates to shower also.

So what was the real reason Phil was "let go" from his job? Was it corporate incompetence, like Phil says, or was it possibly that Phil was an alcoholic who refused to shave or take a shower and would call in to work to play video games all day?

I remember in first friend request ridicule he said "a bunch of drunks outside my house. It's because a welfare house across the street. Sounding like an african nation".

He CAN, but if he really WANTED to, he would be doing it already. That's the thing about Phil and his various behaviors, he goes as far with them as he feels the need to and/or can get away with before it gets him in trouble. There obviously isn't anything sufficiently threatening him into cutting back on his pre-streams, so the longest ones are what his natural limits are there. Meaning, they're exactly as far as Phil wants to go.

That's both his lack of imagination and cowardice. You'll notice that when there's no longer a conversation possible, and Phil suddenly has the courage to get acerbic, he doesn't also suddenly have more clever things to say. He goes right for childish insults, every time, and I don't know what's more pathetic, the fact that that's all he has, or the fact that he can't even say THAT to a person unless they're unable to respond.

But I do know this: whether Phil is being a pussy, or giving the camera the finger and acting all tough, he's being the real Phil Burnell, both times. Make no mistake, if he had courage, he would absolutely be giving shitty attitude to every damn person he comes across who has the audacity to not give him exactly what he wants, when he wants it.
