Can't they open up some kind of subsidiary in America and say all there talents are connected to that so they can be under jurisdiction of American copyright law?
 
I step away briefly from the thread and return to see that you guys have gone from not even being aware of the existence of Yumenographia to claiming that it was a potential link between Anycolor and prostitution/the yakuza? Well I guess as rrats go, that's a fairly original one lol.

Host and hostess clubs are common fare in Japan. They're basically just modern geisha, or "normie" maid cafes. One can find links between them and yakuza but you can say the same about a ton of business in Japan. They're common to the point where one of the most famous shoujo manga is literally about a host club.

Yumenographia is basically just a service where you pay to have a hostess do what irl hostesses do, but in vr. Serve drinks, talk to you, joke around, etc. Tons of people used this service. It wasn't exactly hidden. Is it possible that something more nefarious was going on? Maybe, but you guys are reaching pretty far without any real evidence. Whether it was profitable enough or not is another thing that literally no one here knows. Anycolor wouldn't be the first corporation to lie so I'm not going to say anyone believe them fully, but swinging hard in the opposite direction and stating that they lied as a fact is pretty dumb.

As for Sayo's 3D, using a streamer who is notorious for rarely ever streaming pushing back her 3D stream as an example of Niji being a black company is pretty much just admitting that you don't know what you are talking about.

All this talk about vtuber prostitution reminded me that it already basically exists. There are corpos dedicated to making coomerbux. They do it on sites like Ci-En or Fantia, not YouTube. I came across quite a few during my search for ASMR stuff.

I brought up a company I found a while back called Masquerade. They do your standard games and ASMR stuff on YouTube but then they have videos of their roommates doing softcore porn on Ci-En.

There is also H-Live which is just legitimate porn using their girls 3D models.

I don't remember the name but there was also a group of girls that stream with a vtuber while having a second camera pointed at themselves while they get fucked. It's a whole thing.

ASMR is not inherently lewd, I use it to help sleep...but it certainly can be and overlaps with the adult world easily. I personally get weirded out by ear licking and lewd ASMR that Canan does. Not a thirst post by the way, just informational.

ASMR can definitely be way more out there than what the typical host/hostess does. In any case, I know that people here generally hate the site, but the best way to track the JP community is generally just to use Twitter. It's not exactly scientific, but searching for tweets about Yumenographia in Japanese doesn't reveal much recent drama.

I obviously can't "disprove" any leaks, nor am I particularly interested in doing so, but I'm just gonna say that you guys should be wary of going from literally not knowing what Yumenographia even was to making sweeping conclusions about it in a couple of posts.

Before this thread is swamped in numberfagging from Calliope's costume reveal, do you have the image comparison? I just want to check how different the hues are between the light filter and the unfiltered.

I don't think anything truly explicit was going on. More than anything there was a board meeting where some concerns were expressed about public perception and branding. Probably someone pointed out that (and this seems to be in keeping with those supposed leaks) that the one-on-one interactions have an astronomically larger ability to create a stalker/anti than typical streamer-chat interactions. The potential incidents that could occur, ranging from slander to an actual case of stalking, wouldn't be worth pain in PR, and the oversight needed to ensure these events didn't occur would also have a high monetary cost. I'd scrap it too for the time being.

They would need to incorporate within the United States. . . and depending on which talents you wanted covered (I'm so fucking clever it hurts), would determine how you did so. Without going into the nitty-gritty, it would require the creation of a fully separate corporate entity incorporated in and beholden upon the U.S..

The 'quickest' way would be to relocate-reincorporate Hololive Productions into an American company with a separate corporate structure, that would then be owned by the Japanese company Cover Corporation. But then Hololive would no longer be a Japanese agency, but an American one. . . with predominately Japanese talent. . . it would take a very robust new managerial/legal core that Cover simply is not going to be able to create anytime soon.

Also, a quick google search sprung this up for me. It is dated (2001) but it does bring up a quick breakdown of the differences in U.S. and Japanese copyright law (specifically in one section on Fair Use).

Yeah, I remember long ago I stumped upon the Alice girl from Masquerade, and then was suprised on the sort of stuff the do on the side as well. But there is quite a variety of ASMR of stuff out there for sure. Which is quite funny as I used to fucking hate ASMR stuff as I thought it was just plain werid. But you slap a vtuber into the mix who I actually like and you got me hook line and sinker. Sleep quite soundly nowdays.

It was 15 minutes of "please stand by," 15 minutes of blessed scuff, 10 minutes of potential (the Pomu skit worked the best). The laugh track was set to go off with donations. And it was still better than modern SNL. If most of these weren't done live and as skits like Rosemi does her little meme skits it could be the NijiEN version of the Holo shorts. Rosemi said her computer shit the bed before they went live so it screwed up having 10 people try and move around. Selen also got made to do forced cringe acting.
