Same, I'm at least willing to listen to someone who's willing to entertain Quillette, because it demonstrates they're willing to consider unpopular ideas.
I'm guessing this guy might be on the more libertarian end of the spectrum, but makes the juvenile mistake that anything touching money is good because yay capitalism, so he goes full dicksucker for corporations regarding copyright.
The problem is that copyright is not the same thing as genuine, tangible property. "Intellectual property" is a retarded concept, specifically invented for propaganda purposes.
Copyright is not a right and it's not property. It's an artificial privilege granted and backed up by state force. Like a royal grant. Maybe it has a net benefit to society? Certainly possible, it's worth discussing.
But it can't exist without lots of intrusive state force controlling things you do privately, in your own home, with your real property. Any libertarian minded person needs to keep this in mind. (again, maybe worth it in the end, but it's not something to accept uncritically because yay capitalism)
