Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

Mom takes advantage of her disabled baby’s popular Instagram page to shill pyramid scheme hair products.

This is pretty infuriating.

I assume the redditors defending her are either unfamiliar with her or unfamiliar with pyramid schemes and why they're bad. I get that she was probably duped and desperate, but hasn't she been using her kid to shill pyramid schemes for quite some time now?
That is just what PrayersforPaisley does every day. Pyramid scheme plans seem to be big in IGs that have disabled kids to scam with.
I feel like doing what the Buells did and just straight up grifting, especially from prolifers, would still be more lucrative than MLMs though

I mean, it worked for the Buells. Isnt that how they bought a McMansion?

I get the impression prolifers tend to be pretty open with their wallets if you know what to say, especially if you have a potato.
Not to be mad at the internet but Everytime I see a potato baby GFM, it's some family living in a half million dollar home living a very upper class lifestyle. Sell one of your cars or that boat and stop begging.

I found out recently that a HS classmate died; we were never close friends but she was always nice to me. Two of her grandchildren are twins, a boy and a girl, and in the photo album in her obituary, it was really obvious that the girl is severely disabled. I found her daughter's Facebook page, and all I could find out about it was that she posted a picture of her daughter with a banner that said, "I have a rare disease" with a link to https://rarediseases.org/ . It was really obvious to me that this is a child who is being raised with an enormous amount of love.

Not to go against the grain here but I've always viewed the "miracle baby" thing as meaning "It's a miracle that this severely fucked up child is still alive" as opposed to the "this severely fucked up child is a gift from god". I'm sure some crazed people do indeed mean the latter, though.

There are, yes. I've met a few. They seem to think that God is testing their faith or their capacity for unconditional love by handing them a kid with a malformed brain or missing chromosomes that they'll have to nursemaid every hour of its short and painful life. The best of these parents that I've seen just get on with loving and taking care of their kids rather than loudly trying to justify why this is happening to them, which has always struck me as a case of "I'm mad and depressed about my messed-up kid, but I have to pretend otherwise because the people at church will get pissy and sanctimonious if I show any kind of resentment toward God."

What's wrong with that poor kiddo?
Rett Syndrome and some insane facial differences that I'm not sure were ever explained before she died.

So um...this girl is not full potatoe. This is hitting Hartley level creepy terrority:

what the fuck is this? am i seeing this wrong or are they really picking her up and waggling her around like a puppet?
put your terminally ill child back down in its crib and let it suffer in peace instead of making its pain worse. jesus fucking christ

Yeah aren't some kids with that condition pretty severely 'tarded, but still sentient and aware and whatnot? To me potatoes are like Luna or Mathew or Jaxon where they lack the parts of the brain neccessary for conciousness altogether and everything they do is just brain stem firings or seizure-related.

I get that Paisley is immobile and delayed, but I don't think she's a full-on potato either which yeah, makes her being treated as a prop even more gross :(

Yep, kids with the condition are very developmentally delayed, but they seem to possess enough cognitive ability to react to external stimuli and they're mostly non verbal, but may be able to speak a few very simple words and can use sounds and gestures to communicate their wants and needs, so you can't really call them full fledged potatoes.
There are only a few of them that have ever survived past infancy, or even birth, so we're talking about only a few individuals. The first word in the condition's name, thanatophoric dwarfism(or thanatophoric dysplasia) means deathbringing, because it used to always be fatal and a prenatal diagnosis was considered "not compatible with life." Now advancements in medical care have allowed a few of them to survive, but there still aren't that many around. It's rare to begin with and while I dont know how many pregnant women who learn that their kids have it choose to abort, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the majority. One of the longest living kids with the condition, Samuel Mann, was mentioned in this thread a few years ago when that guy Chris, who patronizes disabled kids, did a video with him and his parents. Samuel was 11 at the time, as far as I know he's still alive. I know a lot of folks saw the video, but for those who didn't or who did, but want to check it out again Here's a link.
