Here's how six different news organizations are covering it on their websites.

Holy shit, this storm has to be weakening out by now. There's a reason why storms and squall lines at night are feared in the South. And this is a perfect example why.
But this in December, at night, and with Christmas a few weeks away? What the fuck?

Storm says "lol, NO." The one tornado that was headed for Bowling Green, KY, now appears to be two.

EDIT -- Ninja'ed by @marjoram ! Have a cool radar pic as a prize.

A couple livestreams:

Storm chaser in the Memphis area.

ForceThirteen livestreaming with a focus on the Bowling Green KY storm front.

Jeff Piotrowski, longterm storm chaser, is livestreaming via Twitter from KY. Can't embed that one.

Tornado has reached Bowling Green, KY. Possible EF4.

EDIT -- And is doing some damage.

Someone flew a drone over the Amazon warehouse in IL. Skip to the 1:30 minute mark to where it starts coming into view better. It's bad. Still no word on deaths/injuries.

Clip from ongoing rescue operations in Mayfield, KY.

More views of the damage in Mayfield. It looks like the future war scenes in Terminator 2.

That drone footage of the Amazon building is surreal. I guess I was expecting more... stuff... in it. It looks like the whole center was vacuumed out

Doesn't bode well for the poor wagies who were in there. The higher the strength tornado, the less debris is left on site. A strong EF5 vs an ordinary suburban home can leave nothing but a clean, bare foundation under the right circumstances.

Corvette museum on fire.

Photo of your fire in the distance. In Bowling Green.

Traffic cam caught the Bowling Green funnel downtown. Powerlines and transformers going off like Dresden.

Two short clips of one of the KY funnels from earlier, outside Bremen, KY.

Anyone got a good scanner feed for BG?

There also may be a cluster of up to four funnels forming south of BG to continue the shitstorm.

The candle factory I posted earlier, including the rescue crew clips working, has people trapped inside. Call for volunteers to help search. Twitter rumors say up to 50 but no reputable confirmation yet.

MAYFIELD, KY — The Mayfield Consumer Products candle factory has reportedly collapsed amid Friday night's tornado and severe storms, and crews are working to find people who may be trapped under the rubble.

Callie Lemle, the wife of Graves County Economic Development President Jason Lemle, says her husband is at Mayfield Consumer Products right now. She says people are digging through the rubble trying to get people out.

She says they're not sure how many people are trapped, but they can hear people who are underneath the rubble.

She said her husband told her they need more volunteers, and anyone with gloves, headlamps, equipment for digging, etc. is welcome to help.

The factory stood at 112 Industrial Drive in Mayfield.

Some action in TN now, including near where I have friends. :-( Looks like I will be glued to my computer the rest of the night.

Obion county, TN, near Reelfoot Lake (famous for having bald eagles).

Agenda-Free TV on youtube has BG scanner running. As well as radar, and twitter posts (and an interesting chat)

Ok, so I'm a complete weather geek. Meaning, I watched Twister several times a DAY when I was a kid, Apparently this tornado registered 283 kts GTG shear on a radar scan, making it the STRONGEST radar scanned tornado in American history.l I'm in awe having witnessed this live, and dread the destruction that morning will make clear.

Thank you!

You are witnessing weather history on multiple counts. Highest wind speed and 220 mile+ track for a single cell both appear to have new records tonight.

Bowling Green is going to be a horror show when the sun rises if half of what's coming through Twitter is true. And they have a second round of storms incoming.

System is just flat-out spamming KY/TN right now, I haven't seen anything like this since the spring of 2011. It's basically <name a place> tornado. Most noteworthy is one with a two mile wide debris trail near Bradfordsville KY -- that is a wide load of a funnel.

1639211999097.png

Some actually nice news -- a couple of kids were found alive and ok after being carried away in a bathtub by a mile-wide tornado that also flipped trains and generally shredded the county.

n the midst of the tornado destruction and horrors throughout the country, comes this news of a miracle out of Hopkins County, Kentucky. Two children were carried away in a bathtub by the tornado, but they’re not injured.

Matt Sanderson, sheriff for Hopkins County, Kentucky, told KYWX that the two children were missing and were found in a bathtub “not where the house was originally standing.” They were OK and they “do not appear to be hurt at all. They have been returned back to their mother.” He said authorities were still searching rubble.

Lexington, KY has a probable tornado approaching, confirmation should be had within 10 min. This storm system is practically going down the list of larger cities in KY.

UPDATE -- Lexington metro funnel did drop, but it's missing Lexington. KY finally catches a break.

Nashville Severe Weather Service just began livestreaming as the storm front is moving more firmly into middle TN and the Nashville Metro area.

A nasty-looking cell has appeared near Nashville proper that's getting watched in particular. If it does spawn a tornado, it may drop it right by the city in a repeat of a storm from 2020. UPDATE before I could even post -- there is a high enough probability that NashWS has issued a tornado warning covering downtown Nashville.
