Mass casualty incident reported after tornado hits Amazon distribution center in Illinois - Officials are confirming there are fatalities at the Amazon facility in Edwardsville following Friday night’s severe weather.

California being California is why they have such bad wildfires. They renamed the Forestry Department to Cal Fire in 1985. They decided 35 years ago they were going to manage fires and not forests. It shows.
But is that the people's fault? Especially the more conservative people of northern California who are politically out powered by liberal SoCal urbanites?

My point is more that both sides use disaster to politically soap box about people don't like.

People are mad at Menotaur but don't you guys have a similar attitude when, for example, wildfires hit California?
The shit California catches over that is because they have spent decades mismanaging their forests leading to massive amounts of fuel accumulating.

I suppose the libtard justification would be that Trump voters are equally liable due to their voting habits driving climate change. That's quite a stretch, not to mention even if you assume 1.5C of warming is accurate, it's unlikely to be to blame for a freak windstorm.

No.

Because people's who's towns and lives are destroyed by the fires aren't the ones who made the decisions at a governmental level to fuck shit up.

As a normal, empathic human capable of sympathizing with my fellow man, I am able to feel compassion for those who don't believe as I do.

LA Crime Spree: You get what you deserve.

Paradise Fire: Hang the fucking PG&E execs and the people who made the decisions that lead to the wildfires.

At least some of them. I'm pretty sure I've never made fun of the people effected by a fire. The state? Yep. Politicians looking for pity bucks or publicity? Definitely. Cal Fire? Every damn chance I get.

Cal Fire could not stop the Camp Fire (the one that burned down most of Paradise) from jumping across 2 miles of water. After that a USFS taskforce took over management of the fire.

when people, including myself, pointed out that the people who get the most fucked by the fires have the least responsibility, it was generally wellreceived, with informative ratings and interesting responses and discussion

Another example is the Vancouver flooding and mudslides. It's just the Internet, so whocareslol, but I just think the "God will remember this" stuff is kinda funny.

That's genuinely nice to hear.

I won't die in a ditch. But a bunch of Trumptards just did. maybe Trump can recommend they rake leaves or something to stop these tornados.

Hey maybe you can hit your buddy Trump up for a condition for these guys?

You're fat and have heart attacks. Get fucked, sped.

Yeah, the people who get hosed by the fires were actually the ones who demand PG&E and the state be held accountable for their shitty land management practices. They're ignored in Sacramento because they tend to be lower middle/working class natives.

Lets not forget that the biggest effort the state showed about the Paradise Fire was their effort to hide the death toll.

I mean, the constant beeping might make it easier to find you? Sure, you’d probably be homicidal from only having the Amazon Wagie Buzzer for company, but silver linings and all that?
A morbid reminder from 20 years ago:

Those loud screeching alarm noises in footage from the debris field on 9/11 immediately following the collapse(s)? Those are safety alarms from the firemen that were caught in the towers, and only the alarms that weren't essentially vaporized from the force of debris. Alarms don't always mean a survivor, that wagie might not be leaving the cagie alive.

Maybe it’s me thinking this, but I really don’t think it’s appropriate to inject something like “climate change” to an attack like this that already happened?

Especially when tornadoes have always existed throughout the years. Sure this one is the deadliest to hit, and no one’s discounting it, but why would they do this to a place like Kentucky?

Yet when it came to something like Hurricane Sandy in the East Coast, they went with the same thing, but almost downplay it since it was largely based in New Jersey and New York where they already believed in something like this to begin with.

Again, just probably nitpicking is all. It just seems a little to premature to start articles like this when something so drastic and unpredictable has happened.

Imagine being buried alive under tons of funkos, amazon basics trash and debris while trapped inside one of these things

And the last thing you hear before you die its the constant beeping alarm because you're not moving and therefore not working
If ir's built strong enough to stop the robots running over the workers then it might actually raise the chances of survival by a few percents, especially if the workers already decked it out in drinks and snacks.
Though it's amazon so it's probably made from pig iron and electrocutes the worker if he doesn't move every few minutes.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Any protection from wind and debris is better than nothing.

If there's a tornado watch, you should put your shoes on. In case a tornado hits, you won't have to walk over rubble barefoot.

A few things not to do in a tornado:
  • Don't open windows to "relieve pressure". It won't help.
  • Don't take cover in the southwest corner of your basement. Stay as far away from windows, doors, and outer walls as possible
  • If on the road, do NOT take cover under an overpass. You are literally putting yourself in a wind tunnel.
  • Tornadoes can, and do, go up and down hills and hit big cities.

Isn't some of that the rubble from the 1906 quake?
Honestly, in the South Tornado Watches are so common that you rarely take any concrete steps such as putting your shoes on. What you do is you turn on the tv or pull up local weather radar. If you are real preparred you have a weather radio and have it programeed not just for your county but the surrounding counties. If you see an upwind county switch from Tornado Watch to Tornado Warning, that's when you put the shoes on. Get the pets together. And go hang out near but not yet in the downstairs bathroom.

That town will be much like the poorer parts of LA where they promised to rebuild, but never really did, and it will be forever a town that looks like it was torn to shreds. People will walk away with the money, unable to build with increased costs or to specs demanded.
What happened in LA? the fires? or the riots?
That's exactly what happened here. It took 5 years for them to just to rebuild the courthouse, a small & square municipal building. But still nothing exists where downtown & the entire neighborhood before it stood, about 3-4 blocks long.

Want to know something fucked up? As soon as FEMA arrived here, they tried to stop local churches collecting private donations, even the ones which had been completely or partially destroyed. I stopped at one of the water & ration distribution points to donate bottled water, and tried to lay a hundo on the deacon before I left.

He hurriedly stopped me, asked me over to his truck, and told me to write my details down. As I did, he pointed out the FEMA supervisor standing nearby and told me they weren't allowing private donations, because FEMA was supposed to be helping. When I finished writing, I had to slide the bill under the paper and pass it to him, which both unsettled & pissed me off. It felt like a dystopian drug-deal, which it shouldn't have.

Later on I got a handwritten thank-you note from the pastor, which made me feel a little better about it. But what still infuriates a lot of us is that FEMA never followed through on their end, and a lot of people without insurance never got shit from them. Hell, there's people still living in FEMA trailers, which is a whole different fucked-up thing too.

And just when I had hope you weren't a total loss. Good job, fucking cockgobbler; God remembers shit like that.
That donation shit its like something out of a third world banana republic. I remember this venezuelan who told me that only chavez party's goons were allowed to give donations so people would then vote for them in the elections. They would even steal donations from other charities and take the credit.

Its only loud enough to piss off the wagie inside, god forbid his supervisor has to hear it.

You put politics before helping your own countrymen in a disaster. Holey fuck.
I have absolutely 0 respect for you subhuman, I hope nobody sheds a tear if you die in a ditch.

Ah yes but I'm alive and these trumptards have telephone poles wrapped round their heads. I'll take my health anyway over being flattened by concrete.

I have no idea why an act of nature makes you fuckheads suddenly get a heart. You're fucking scorpions the lot of you; and you don't get any free rides on my back. "Fellow countrymen", it wasn't last week you guys were discussing the justified nature of killing Libs.

What? Cause a tornado ripped the roof off some guys house and took his wife and sent a sofa through her head, suddenly they are worthy of help? I remember the comments against every disaster that has happened in a blue state and the irony is not lost on me.

So I'll say it again: These Trumptards are unworthy of help; but I know you'll dish out your dollars to them and I'm sure it will go towards quality drugs and buying MAGA straws and hats.

You'll get the Fed dollars so shut the fuck up about being these officially homeless cunts not having money.

Because guess what? Mother nature don't care if you are left, right, or center. It will kill you, your wife, your kids, even pets without a care in the world because its nature. Its a unfeeling monster with what targets it picks and who its screws.

I wonder what upbringing you had that made you this way, I weep for your parents knowing you have become such a monster.
