Claiming there are massive business expenses would work a lot better if Phil didn't:
1) claim any new console, game, controller, etc. was gifted and he didn't pay for it.
2) have his bankruptcy filing made public where anyone who wants to know what he makes in his own words can easily find it
3) have his bank transactions exposed so we all know most of it went to mobile games, Door Dash, and alcohol

He never thinks about how his own version of the truth contradicts these ideas, but then I don't know if his gin-addled brain even knows the truth at this point.
If you didn't look into it, his claim of 5000 in business expenses in the bankruptcy wouldn't go against his claims. It's the fact that even before his leaks, you could estimate how much he could be spending on his business, and how extreme the claim was.

He would need to be buying games at a rate of over one game a stream at 60 bucks to even come near his stated expenses. Especially since he never buys mtx for games he plays on stream.

Considering how irresponsible they seem to be with money, one day their tugboat inheritance insurance payout allowance money will eventually not be enough and they’ll look back and wonder why they squandered it on a streamer who wasn’t even thankful they did.

At this point, if they still fall for the marketing scheme Phil’s grift and keep giving him money willingly, they shouldn’t have any sympathy when they realize how much they’ve wasted.
Remember back in the mid to late 2000's how there were suddenly stories on shows like Maury or 20/20 about people who spent all their money on WOW or cam girls? Don't think we're too far from seeing the same about Twitch streamers if it hasn't already happened. Hell there is that one guy that had two(?) bankruptcies and still donates to Phil. Now you can't say Phil was the reason but the fact they still donate says a lot. Now that's a Phil example but this isn't a Phil centric issue and when someone realizes they blew all of their money watching somebody playing video games they won't feel any better just because the person was grateful for the money.

he'll probably send his condolences to everyone who has had their income impacted and totally won't remind everyone that he left twitch cause he's smarter than every other streamer

What's more unbelievable is that they're spending all their money on a streamer and that streamer is spending all his money on WWE Champions.

He'll paint it as Karma for dropping him.

The whole "you don't understand how many business expenses they have" stuff doesn't work with Phil.

Business expenses IMPROVE the business or should that is, so where is the money going Phillip, if it's being dumped into your Burnell Enterprises account?

Also with any charity, and yes Phil is a charity, you should be able to know where the money is going.

If that charity refuses to be transparent about it then they are shady as fuck. I realize all this makes sense to normal people, and his whales are the black sheep of their communities.
Business expenses for tax purposes don't necessarily have to help improve the business expenses. But what Phil claims are business expenses probably shouldn't be business expenses. Also, while Phil is a charity case, he isn't a 501(c)3 and never will be so his wheelchairs can't itemize the massive amounts they donate to him lol
I love how he said "you dont know what it costs to operate their stream" and Mr 5k a month in business expenses (or should I say Mr. Purgery?) has his fans donate his games, his equipment, his chairs, etc and runs donation pools for his actual consoles.

He's not going to be able to write off any of those donated items as business expenses either. It is conceivable that when 2021 comes to a close he will owe more to the IRS than his annual take-home considering the existing amounts he already owed.
Those are actually considered income for him. Those donations are put as a debit for assets (I don't know what assets to classify them as and neither does Phil lol) and a credit for revenue. But that would be if Phil was actually honest about his tax returns (which he is not)

Just off the top at 125k this is roughly what he takes home:

I'm sure @PieceofPeace has something more accurate but this is a good rough estimate.
Is that factoring in Youtube's 30% cut of the Superchats or Paypal's 9% fees for cash xfer/withdrawals?

Youtube takes 1/3 of every Superchat shown on-screen and unless he spends directly from his Paypal account they take almost 10% of his tips. The IRS then takes 25% and WA state takes about 2% of what's left. Then there's a 1-1.5% property tax on his constantly-appreciating wahcondo so that's another few grand.

That hole gets deeper every day.

Phil isn't able to read body language because he is autistic.
He also isn't socialized properly. Body language is part of non-verbal language and non-verbal language is culturally specific. An example would be the thumbs up gesture, in most of the world it's a gesture of approval, but in Greece for example when giving someone thumbs up you're telling the other person to go sit on a dick, basically telling them to go fuck themselves. You can only learn the meaning of gestures, both surface-level ones like the thumbs up gesture and subtle ones like body language, through socialization. Phil has hermetically sealed himself from the outside world for more than half a decade that's why he can't read other people's body language. Moreover, you really can't read his body language through the lens of what body language in the Western world is like, it is completely idiosyncratic to him due to lack of socialization.

I used to make judgements on whether he's lying or not depending on his body language, but ever since he's done cam-on prestreams I realized how much of a fool's errand it is. Not to mention, there's an easier way to know whether he's lying or not, if his lips are moving lies are being spread. He even radiates nervous energy even when he talks about the only thing he's passionate about, D'VOURING food. Yesterday when he talked about Christmas food that he D'VOURS he still radiated the same nervous energy that he radiates when he's caught in a lie and he has to think of some bullshit narrative on the spot. His eyes were darting around and sometimes bugging out, he couldn't look straight at the camera for most of the time, he kept touching and rubbing his nose, he was fidgeting, swaying and rocking back and forth in his chair like crazy, he did that one weird mouth movement where it looks like the snake-headed alien inside of him wants to escape the human suit he's wearing.

I've been lurking for months here, and honestly you know what really gets me irritated? The audacity of Phil to feign being broke and working hard. Motherfucker I've spent the entire pandemic working mandated overtime at a hospital because I'm a nurse. We've got no breaks because we simply couldn't. This fuck works like 1 hour before a break. To top it all off, he makes significantly more money than I do.

Dumb people make dumb financial decisions, nothing new. Even if Dave were to get magically cured of his alcoholism and gacha addiction overnight he'd just find another money-pit, doordash being a perfect example of his absurd spending habits.

I could totally see him believing those items were donated to him personally and then "selling" them to his business. Voila, Business Expense.

See now that could almost work. I mean, the IRS is going to come down hard on him with proving out everything with receipts and stuff but theoretically it might work. You are allowed up to a $15,000 a year exemption for gifts that don't fall into gift taxes, and then he would have to sell it to his business as a related party transaction, which has funky rules. I am not particularly well versed in the sole proprietorship and related party transactions that would take place so I am not sure if there was a way to do that so I couldn't say its impossible. But I can say Phil has no fucking clue how it could be done and if there is a way, Phil wouldn't do it correctly

Phil's been like this for some time while talking about food, especially when it comes to what his family ate for dinner and such. Further credence for the Linda is living there belief. At the least, he's likely making up stories of Katherine cooking, which she's probably quit for a long time.

Better yet he could rent all that stuff to his "business" to make it a recurring monthly Business Expense.

I wonder if his "business" is "renting" that office too.

EDIT: being a sole proprietorship probably screws up my scheme though. Would've been a lot easier if he would've spent the $100 or whatever to incorporate an LLC.

Related party transactions are really funky rules that prevent you from doing stuff like this though. The IRS is a bunch of boring idiots, but they won't be fooled by someone like Phil

I still can't believe his, "This guy told me I don't have to pay taxes" plan didn't work.
