Oh of course! It all makes sense! Here I though it was a musical about a skelley skoo who suffers a midlife crisis and wants something more than his current situation offers and in the process remembers that he loves his job anyway but no! It was really about cultural appropriation all along!

Next headline: Bugs Life is a cautionary tale about what happens when you don't keep your slaves under control.

Jesus Christ... this makes me fucking sick to the stomach. Why do people honestly think it's ok to say stuff like this? What kind of a bitter, awful human-being do you have to be to sink that low?

This may come across as spergy or A-Loggy. I don't mean it to be, but it's something I wanted off my chest.
I have seen some real shit from Tumblr.

I've seen someone on Tumblr comparing people who ask for reliable sources to slave owners and rape deniers. I've seen someone on Tumblr use Leelah Alcorn's suicide as a platform to potshot at GamerGate. I've seen a group of adults on Tumblr dox and bully a 12-year-old for saying that comedy shouldn't be censored because that neuters it.

And this? This beats them all. How does someone in their (presumably) right mind think, "Yes. I, someone who is technically an adult, am fully comfortable with my decision to not only try to justify trying to get a minor to commit suicide, but also telling her she is the cause of all racial inequality, and oh yeah she apparently deserves to die because she didn't draw the lesbo space rocks right. "

All this over fucking Steven Universe fanart. Racist/sexist/whatever or not (I have zero opinion on Zamii herself or her art), this level of backlash is insane, hateful, and does not achieve anything positive.

Demanding suicide doesn't advance race relations. It doesn't provide artists with insight on how their art could be construed as offensive when they don't want it to be. It doesn't allow for real, intelligent discussion on issues of race or gender or appearance. It just leads to hatred and misery.
At "best," someone is cowed into submission because Tumblr deems their work to be wrongthink. At worst, the same someone dies an undeserved and untimely death because they didn't toe the line.

*sigh*

Matriarchalmuffin and their ilk could have chosen a better path. They could have responded in a mature and decent manner to Zamii. They could have accepted her apologies. They could have let her recover in peace.

But they didn't. The people who bullied Zamii chose to stroke their own egos in the name of causes they only support to look good, they chose to kick someone who was at their lowest, and because that I have no respect for them.

/end rant

Yeah, to tumblr personality=gender, gender=personality. Which means these are probably some of the most boring people on the planet in real life. To me at least gender is like the fifth or sixth thing that defines me, not the first and only.

That would probably explain why Shona and Stephie being trans are their only defining characteristics to them.

You see, I've read that argument before, but rubbed me the wrong way about it is like, the Halloween Town monsters are trying to go from being scary and alien to normal people to being friendly and jolly, like Christmas Town. The Christmas Town people aren't feared or misunderstood. If anything, you could make a stronger argument for the movie possibly being an interpretation for when a people of a culture that are marginalized or just regarded as alien and different try to emulate a more dominant culture, and wind up missing the point and coming across as bizarre or strange. Japanese culture doing this to Christmas including things like images of crucified Santa Claus comes to mind.

Or, my own interpretation as a kid was that the Halloween Town citizens represented societal outcasts who were just weird trying to appear "normal."

Anybody who watches A Nightmare Before Christmas and takes away that the Halloween Town citizens represent a dominant, white bread culture emulating a more exotic POC culture mystify me.

At the end of the day, it's a skellyman who wanted to be Santa because he was tired of the same old thing and wanted something new.

It's like those people who come up with theories like "all the Rugrats are actually dead and Angellica's hallucinations"or "Ash is actually a normal kid in a coma". They want to make these cartoons they used to watch "dark" and "edgy" so they feel less bad about watching cartoons as adults. Only in this case, it's theories about how they're SJW messages in disguise.

And even after he fucks everything up, he's like "yeah okay I messed up, but I had a blast doing so and I tried my best so idgaf." The whole fiasco rekindles his love for his job, and Santa gives Halloween Town a bit of Christmas at the end as a way of saying that he doesn't hold a grudge. (The whole making it snow thing.) I'm sorry but I really love this movie okay.

Jack mostly fucked up from rushing headfirst into things and not thinking things through. I don't see anything particularly SJW-y about learning to appreciate who you are and what you're good at. But, you know, SJW logic.

My gender is guy with headphones.

My gender is person with no feet.

If you haven't already, this would be fitting to post in the Zamii thread in Off-Topic.

EDIT: also I can't take someone's opinion seriously when their blog is called "yourshipsaregross". Try and have some class, honestly.

People who take shipping that seriously need to stop.

Slight Undertale spoilers within: https://archive.is/SjJim

Part of me is hoping this is a joke. Part of me is remembering how completely shitty and awful Tumblr is and that it could very well be serious.
Ah, so it's okay to draw skinny characters fat, no hypocrisy there!

Well, it's kind of a joke, considering the origins of the down with cis meme itself? But the art was likely done in earnest.

Anyway, came across this gem recently:

Facts pulled straight from a tumblr users ass. Until they provide evidence I'm calling horseshit on this one.
That last claim, at least, is completely ridiculous. Aside from the fact that the nose is going to be one of the most vulnerable parts, it's far more likely that a tourist would chip off the nose of a statue to take as a souvenir. Also, a lot of Egyptian statues do have noses, and they totally don't look black at all. In general, noble Ancient Egyptians tended to have kind of oversized noses.
