Went Xmas shopping today and got behind a car with a "FUCK JOE BIDEN" sticker and on the other side, which I couldn't quite read, was a sticker that said "[something] [something] pedophile." So that's the vibe out here.

If they'd done these lockdowns, no-fly lists, and keeping infected countries from flying to other countries way back when, you know, BADORANGEMAN(TM) wanted to do it, instead of screaming about how it was racist and fascist, we would have probably beaten Covid in 3-6 months.
Instead, the very people who decried lockdowns and no-flys are now the champions of them.

So I was doing Christmas shopping today. And I saw a magazine it was a picture of Biden and the big bold words were "The dementia crisis". Because I didn't take the magazine I don't know if it was acknowledging that something is clearly wrong with Biden or it was one of those articles that claims that its "all a right wing conspiracy"

I mean, yes and no. While restrictions of that sort could have potentially slowed the spread, it's become increasingly clear over the past year that the coof was already spreading globally weeks or even months before China first decided to let the rest of us know about it (I've heard as far back as September 2019 as a possibility). There are likely people who caught it and assumed it was just a cold or the flu and shrugged it off, passing it to others before they got better. With how much it had already spread and with poor ability to detect who actually had it at first, travel restrictions and lockdowns probably wouldn't have done a whole lot in the end.
That said, you're right that a lot of the coof response was solely Orange Man Bad NPC logic. When Trump first restricted travel, Nancy danced in Chinatown and called him racist. He was willing to go along with the two week lockdown as an initial measure, but when he wanted to open things back up and get the economy moving again, blue state governors screeched about how he didn't care about people's lives and locked down harder. When he talked about therapeutic treatments, Fauci and company demanded vaccines as the only solution. Anything he said or did, the media spun it in the worst way possible. The whole Democrat machine went knee-jerk in the opposite direction of whatever he proposed.
At this point, the coof is a glorified cold, with the super-scary Omicron Variant™ being even more of a nothingburger than before. Anyone still going batshit over it is either a power-mad politician or a Branch Covidian that's too far gone to save.

Dems agreeing to bigger lockdowns in late 2019/early 2020 wouldn't have ended COVID sooner. As much as I hate the phrase, it's a world-wide pandemic and the countries that locked down the hardest have, if anything, made the issue last longer than it otherwise needed to be. The goal should be to get this shit endemic as soon as possible, lockdowns interfere with that.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion from someone who lives there, but I suspect this was a bone thrown/allowed to pass to the few Dems here because everybody knows there are almost zero troons here. In months, I haven’t seen a single troon. Now, it is possible they are present in the schools, but I would not know because I am not a teacher or a pedo, so no reason to hang out there. But in public? None, not a one. This is the only state where it is illegal to have a controlled substance in your system if tested and the biggest city still has no mask mandates in schools, and unless they are much better at passing, troons are almost non-existent here, so idk that is why I think it is some kind of odd compromise. I do not agree with this appeasement tactic though because troons should be shamed and erased.
