DeSantis said he won't run if Trump does. Nobody else has the capital with the American people. At best we'll see something like the 2020 Republican primaries but with more money thrown at his opponents and possibly an establishment plant like Nimirita Haley to be ridiculed giving the Dems ammo to say Trump hates women/browns.
The envitability of a Trump 2024 victory(if the election is fair) has loomed over this administration since everyone outside DC stopped caring about Jan 6. It'll be a shitshow of epic proportions.

I hadn't seen where DeSantis had said that but that is interesting, if anyone on the Republican side could carry a similar populist aura it was probably DeSantis. Some of the other state govs like Abbott might consider it but DeSantis is known for being the proudest and loudest at rightfully telling Biden to pound sand. Abbott could build up some more image before election season though if he manages some success with his new border policy of "fuck sending them back, let em rot" but I don't see it being anywhere near strong enough to challenge Trump.
As I've said before I don't really care if it's Trump or not I just want every one of these fucks who are wrecking our country right now to be permanently shut out of power. If it's him though it will have such a richer flavor of entertainment because he has an axe to grind and will probably stay alive another 2 decades just to finish off his head collection.
