Ready or Not is a tactical first person shooter developed by Void Interactive , it is the spiritual successor of the SWAT series of games , it was announced in May 2017 and since then has had its beta delayed multiple times , gone radio silent for months on end , been picked up by a publisher , possibly dropped by the publisher ( context ) , and had its beta moved from sometime in 2022 to the end of December 2021.

Promotional blurb from the steam page:
"Ready or Not is an intense, tactical, first-person shooter that depicts a modern-day world in which SWAT police units are called to defuse hostile and confronting situations."

The Alpha was under NDA since launch until early this month , so all gameplay is of the most recent build.

Currently you can't get into the alpha since the devs have ran out of keys
You can find cracks however

THE GAME IS OUT!
Now you can pay 40 bucks for the alpha/beta and get in while people who preordered still haven't gotten their keys , did void fuck up and accidentally release the beta too early , did they do this on purpose?, we may never know.

I was expecting some hot garbage but damn, that trailer looks sweet, some atmosphere for once instead of the quippy one liner cartoony shit we get otherwise. and of course the anal staircase

READY OR NOT HERE I CUM TO PLAY THIS GAME
No schizoposting aside it actually looks good

It's apparently entering early access later this month. I'll probably drop a few bucks for it. Been waiting to play this since its announcement back in 2017. https://twitter.com/VOIDInteractive/status/1470856486070935562

I'm glad there are some devs who are sticking to a more grounded atmosphere. I fucking hate the cartoony "quirky band of rebels" shit every AAA dev is going for nowadays.

Don't be too hopeful, the indies aren't exactly a safe space.

I've had the Supporter edition since 2019. The game is ok, it's still very basic but it does have that classic SWAT feeling. Once this is done (if ever), it really is gonna highlight how bad Ubisoft fucked up by killing off Rainbow Six after Vegas.

Not worth another thread, but check out Ground Branch as well.
Ground Branch has been in development since at least 2008 and still feels like a beta. The main developer was one of the map designers on the original Rainbow Six. Ground Branch is ok for what it is right now, but basically all it has is terrorist hunt.

looks fun. I hope the seemingly chronic development issues don't end up killing it before its complete.

Beta just released on early access.

The supporter edition is still 80 fucking bucks ontop of the 40 dollar base game , why void
Because they still need the money, and have been up front from the start that the supporter edition is only if you actually want to support the studio with more than simple game purchase.

Not defending it, just explaining the rationale. Plenty of Supporters have been unhappy with how long things have taken and the partnership with Team 17.

EDIT: I should point out the original Supporter price was $140, not $80.

currently i think supporter is 120 , on team its 40 for the base game and 80 for the supporter dlc , so its still 120 , and is has very little for the price.

All they give you is the HRT pack and future DLC. They said from the beginning its only if you want to monetarily support them. It's like an extended season pass I guess you can say. People have been bitching about it since they announced it years ago but it's a completely optional purchase.

Partnership with Team 17 is over apparently. I don't see it's company symbol on the title screen like I used too. Good Riddance to those publishers. It's a good game and way better than Rainbow 6 Sneeige, just needs a solid year of new maps to be a good successor to SWAT 4

i remember seeing something about this game a while back because i too play swat4, but then i've also saw one of the many shill threads of this game on /v/.
i'll see the pirated version, so far it tires to go for that swat 4 look but doesn't do it's own thing unlike Zero Hour, which is not really a good sign.
