A good sentiment but I think Gretchen's missing why it is making people upset.
- The protagonist sees the evil lesbian TERF bad guy and immediately starts fantasizing about having sex with her, and then immediately declares he is going to kill her (the manuscript ends at this point). I am actually in favor of this. Show the world what you are made of, transwomen. Get it all out there in the open.

I'll talk a little about the problems I see just from the summary here, or the mai big one I highlighted: when I, a woman, look at someone that would have plans to kill me or subjugate me in any way, my first thought is not about "hmm I'd like to have sex with them." The man or woman could be Ted Bundy or [female serial killer that looks good] handsome, but my first thoughts are "holy shit! This mad man needs to be locked away and forgotten forever!" This happens to a lot of minorities. The first thing most black people do when they see the most handsome KKK man is to either fight or flight, the first thing most jews do when they see a handsome NeoNazi march with their buddies down the street is not to think how they want to fuck the whole gang, and so on.
This is the perspective of a coomer. This character sounds like a coomer who sees people as sexual objects first and then personality second. Had the main character remarked on the beauty but not went straight down to fuck town, she would be more sympathetic. This just makes her look creepy, and it would still be creepy if the main character was the most genetically and culturally cis woman on the planet. You could swap all genders out, and it would seem just as bizarre and creepy. Gretchen, you seem to get nuance, I hope you can show the main character growing up from this as a character. I am guessing you won't though.

@AMHOLIO I can't reply but when I looked at Gretchen's work and some of his tweets, I did not end up with what I expected which was "haha let's laugh at the bad writer." Instead I got a sense of sadness that there is some creativity there that is being strangled by the fact he's in a cult. When you are in a cult, you can only make art for other people in that cult, because you are not in touch with wider reality. I like the idea of stuff like a testosterone zombie virus and magical girl body horror, but when it's done by creatives who can't escape their narrow view of the world (and whose editors are clearly too afraid to edit them properly) it ends up predictable and dull.
For the record, Caitlin Kiernan is a horror author I enjoy who is transsexual MtF. Note how her bios don't mention her genderspecialness because she transitioned back in the 90s and apparently she established her career at a time when publishers assumed their readers cared about fiction, not identity.

Came across this study about transgender breast implants that is unintentionally & hilariously transphobic.
Figure that shows the most common trans body type seeking breast augmentation vs the most common cis body.
Trans patients were:
-Older 40 vs 34
-Had higher body mass index 27.46 vs 22.88
-Higher prevalence of psychological comorbidities 50% vs 12%
- All most all of the trans surgeries were paid through Medicare vs the cis women were mostly through private insurance
Every point here is wrong on some level but I want to highlight the ones I feel are the most egregious: 2.) access to the trasbian dating pool.
AKA going gay with extra steps.
7.) being able to attract cis lesbians (if your attractive enough).
Not even in your wildest fetish dreams is that happening. That "if" is so big, it makes Jupiter look like Pluto.
8.) being able to attract high-quality males for sex.
In what universe are tranny chasers high-quality males? That's the type you're going to attract, because any decent looking dude with a functioning head on his shoulders is going to avoid you at all costs.
9.) softer skin and less/no acne.
Don't make me laugh; troons are amongst the least hygienic people on the planet.
13.) people will treat you better if they think you are female.
A blind person could tell you a trans women is %100 man. Also people treat you poorly because you're a disgusting, obnoxious pervert.
15.) access to female spaces (males are disgusting).
Males are at their most disgusting when they try to gain access to female spaces so they can wave their very feminine erections in women's faces. Also if males are disgusting, why did you list #8 as a positive point to transmaxxing?

Tbh the high fashion/MUA troons do pass relatively well. It's just that the second too much skin is shown or the photo angle isn't right they just look like skinny gay boys with a weave and contour. I mean that body in the last pic... lmao.
