Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Republican lawmakers in New York are crying foul over a piece of legislation that would give state and county leaders the ability to detain contagious patients during a state of emergency.

The bill is Assembly Bill 416. While it's making the rounds on social media now, it was originally proposed in 2015 during the Ebola outbreak and has never once been heard by committee. It has been introduced in the 2015-2016, 2017-2018, 2019-2020 legislative sessions, and the current session.

The bill is described as:

“An act to amend the public health law, in relation to the removal of cases, contacts and carriers of communicable diseases who are potentially dangerous to the public health.”

The bill goes on to read:

Upon determining by clear and convincing evidence that the health of others is or may be endangered by a case, contact or carrier, or suspected case, contact or carrier of a contagious disease that, in the opinion of the governor, after consultation with the commissioner, may pose an imminent and significant threat to the public health resulting in severe morbidity or high mortality, the governor or his or her delegee, including, but not limited to the commissioner or the heads of local health departments, may order the removal and/or detention of such a person or of a group of such persons by issuing a single order, identifying such persons either by name or by a reasonably specific description of the individuals or group being detained. Such person or group of persons shall be detained in a medical facility or other appropriate facility or premises designated by the governor or his or her delegee.
-a416
The wording of this bill worries lawmakers like Assemblyman Steve Hawley, a Republican from Batavia.

“Protecting the health of our neighbors is a noble goal to be certain, but this bill forfeits our constitutional liberty in a way we can never allow,” said Hawley in a media release.

“In my opinion, just introducing these bills creates a negative impact that ultimately harms the effort to get our state past the pandemic, safely,” said Senator George Borello, a Republican who represents, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties.

The bill was introduced by Assemblyman Nick Perry from Brooklyn. The bill was written in 2015 after a woman refused to quarantine after working closely with patients who had Ebola.

Perry wrote this on his Facebook page on Sunday regarding a416:

“Somewhere in the future there may be the need for people to protect from a person or persons carrying a very deadly and transmittable virus, and this bill is designed to ensure that our government could lawfully act protect all the people.

I am open to amendments that would address real concerns raised by critics and will quite happily accept suggestions that will improve the bill in regard to concerns to constitutional rights.”
Assemblyman Nick Perry
You can read his full statement here:

The governor is specifically mentioned in the bill as having power to detain contagious patients.

According to an adviser of Governor Andrew Cuomo, the governor never knew this bill existed.

“It apparently is six years old, has no Senate sponsor and has never moved out of committee. We have real problems to focus on and I urge the crazy uncles who are fueling this cut rate Qanon – and the politicians pandering to them -- to knock it off, turn off Proud Boy Twitter and take a walk or something,” wrote Rich Azzopardi Senior Advisor to the Governor.

To get a sense of just how many bills are proposed and never make it out of committee, in the 2019-2020 session 7,982 assembly bills didn’t make it out of committee. In the New York State Senate, 6,098 didn’t make it out of committee. In that same time period, 753 bills were signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo.

I'm not saying there isn't a NYS STASI that dreams of this passing but no one has sponsored it, it hasn't come out of committee and I highly doubt it will be voted on next month. Cuomo is gone and has been replaced by a loony, troony looking nutcase but even she doesn't have to ovaries to go this far seeing as she wants to be elected next year.

White House lights up Manchin after he crushes Biden's megabill

Psaki said that the senator had brought Biden an outline of a bill similar in size and scope that "could lead to a compromise acceptable to all."

"If his comments on FOX and written statement indicate an end to that effort, they represent a sudden and inexplicable reversal in his position, and a breach of his commitments to the president and the senator’s colleagues in the House and Senate," Psaki said.
:story: Holy fuck Manchin was really leading Biden along. Apparently this week he gave Biden a draft for a compromise version of BBB he said he would vote for, which Biden approved of, and then Manchin did a 180 and went on Fox saying he actually won't be doing that. Manchin didn't tell the White House he was gonna go onto Fox and kill BBB until 30 minutes prior, which led to the White House panicking and sending him phone calls which he ignored. Not even Bret Baier, the guy he was on air with, knew Manchin was going to say what he said.

What a class act.
A White House official told POLITICO that they feel there are critical elements of the social spending bill that must get done. They plan to continue talking with Manchin and to urge him to honor his previous commitments.

The official added that now may be an opportunity to revisit a concept of the bill that included fewer programs but was paid for over more years — an option that moderate House Democrats and party leaders such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi had pushed for previously.
The desperation is tangible. Not only does the White House feel genuinely betrayed by Manchin lying to their faces, they're also well aware that they need to get something, ANYTHING done.

Lol. Godspeed, President Manchin.

The same people that are mad at Joe Manchin were the same ones trying to justify why it’s okay to stalk a female senator in a bathroom stall and airplane for not giving free gibs to illegal aliens wanting to live in America.

That is until CNN and their head establishment owners told them that it was not OK.

I can guarantee it.

There is also the theory that companies aren't actually hiring despite the need for help.
Tin-foil hat time: firms are not offering more competitive wages/benefits/what have you to attract new hires and alleviate the labor shortage because:
1. Those that are still working can just be asked to work longer hours and do more, so they don't have to take on new hires and be responsible for new wages and benefits and
2. Longer this goes on, the easier it will be to lobby for the mass importation of third-world special visa labor that can be paid pennies on the dollar

It's impossible to know how much of this is kayfabe and how much isn't. That last sentence is absolutely spot-on, though. You can't be "the most popular and most successful President EVUR" if you can't get your masterpiece passed into Law. The Dems are scrambling to frame the VRA as the big thing now that they know BBB is dead, (and I believe that they knew it as early as last week which is why we started seeing a hard pivot towards VRA and stories about BBB being "delayed"), but VRA will be harder to pass than BBB and since BBB has failed that means it'll be impossible. Manchin would NEVER vote for VRA now because he knows that every little dirty trick contained within that bill would be used against him should he choose to run for any public office ever again. After next year the Dems won't have both the House and Senate anymore so if Biden doesn't have SOMETHING BIG passed by Jan '23 then he won't have anything by Election '24 and then what do the Dems run on? "We did nothing the last 4 years but vote for us so we can spend 4 more years doing jack shit"? That's a hard sell even for the Propagandists.

In short, the Biden Admin is fucked. Well and truly fucked. I predict hard times ahead as they pull out all the stops to distract from exactly how fucked they are.

I love how all of these critters are lambasting Manchin on some "Oh, how could he do this to poor people of West Virginia!" despite being the same people who laugh at those "pillbillies" and disregard them; same people who idiotically push to primary Manchin in such a state just for power's sake.

He's an inconstant ally at best, but he's better than nothing.

Im surprised how the GOP allows the Democrats to get away with insane horseshit over voting rights such as comparing Voter ID to something out of Jim Crow or racist against niggers and mud people. Even the world must know that America is no longer the "arsenal of democracy" with horseshit like that.

There are many African countries that use Voter ID though its a different story on the legitimacy of the results but those changes proposed by the Democrats are too insane by even 3rd world shithole standards.
Democrats bank on the fact that getting government ID of any kind is a hellish nightmare of epic proportions:

1. Have to pay for them (a standard non-drivers license ID alone is around $20)
2. Only certain types of government office buildings produce them/sell them to the public, many of which are located one per three-four towns and operate only during hours most people are stuck in their 9-5 work schedule hours.
3. If you don't have a still valid ID card from them, they require a slew of paperwork to prove your ID to get a new one and that again, can be maddening to obtain and might cost you additional money on top of how much you get charged for your ID.

And that's just for legal citizens!

They use this to make ANY sort of push for state ID illegal, under the ground that getting a generic ID is a Kafka esque nightmare experience and that it's better to just do the honor system than to fix shit so getting an ID card is easy

I'm kind of mad I had to pay $20 for an eye test but since I avoided a trip to midtown I guess it's okay. But I renewed my DL online and the eye test was also submitted online so it was fine. It's stupid easy to get your ID online, at least in NYS.

Based Manchin. Just wow that is impressive how he was able to fuck with the white house that hard.

Joe Madison should start praying Biden tries to ram his entire agenda through via executive order soon, otherwise he's gonna starve to death.

Many Democrat voters, usually the young ones, that have bought into the workers rights meme pushed by the liberals, hate the kind of folks that live in West Virginia and the more browner or blacker or yellow they are, the more racist they become against them.

How do the Democrats still have the political capital to make this deal anyway? All analysis puts them deep in debt.

Most likely it's going on top of existing debt, combined with the fact that if the Democrats don't fucking win and win big, hell will be coming through to kill all of the sinners (IE the Democrats and their ilk) even if the GOP only manage to take back the House.

Because right now, the Democrats are six ways fucked if they lose big in 2022 to such a degree that their corrupt allies would probably feel the need to let the Democrats slide on debts outstanding/let them add to their debts to be paid later, purely to avoid the reckoning that will happen if the Democrats lose control over the House and Senate.

lol he is going to starve to death.
These boomers really do not know that the protest methods of old doesn't really work in a world where their very actions have created a society based on apathy and "why should I do it I'm not the one at fault here."

There is no waking up, people are awake, they don't give a shit unless it effects them.
All he's gonna do is have some RIP in piss in twitter until the next retard offs himself.
