General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

the number of faggelas who only post in this thread and no where else is pretty high. they're worse than HHH antis that got negrates removed from the paradise of A&H.

Imagine signing up on KF only to post in the vtuber thread. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I feel personally attacked...

But going by the rando trolls that come into here occasionally, it is just a bunch of edgelords who thing that being able to say and call people niggers and fags without getting called out and banned for it is the epitome of forum posting. So I doubt I'm missing much. Meh.

The only thing I've been surprised by is that real-life Rushia (if the pics are real) looks more like an anime girl than her avatar does.

Judging by the picture that was posted, she has some competition now in that department from Laplus.

I couldn't care less about her weight as long as she's healthy, tbh.

Being overweight is literally not healthy.

Probably late but I don't think it was ever mentioned here despite me having this info for a few weeks now.

Hana Flores, the opera-singing trilingual girl who graduated from KawaiiPro who was shortlisted as a potential NijiEN Wave 3 candidate, reincarnated as Twitch V-Tuber Morino Peari in September.

But that isn't everything. According to some fans I've spoken to, she allegedly said in passing that she would be interested in joining Nijisanji, and that it would be her preferred destination overall. I can't confirm this myself, but I did check her twitter following and found out the following: Peari follows the NijisanjiJP main account, but does not follow the Hololive main account, any Niji or Holo members of any branch, or the NijiEN page.

At first glance, this MAY suggest that she may be angling for a spot in the JP branch, but NijiJP does not publicly hold auditions anymore, and even though she's fluent at speaking Japanese, I don't think she's fluent at reading and writing it, which may not be ideal for appealing to JP viewers. The main page DOES however retweet the EN audition form, so it's possible she's just trying to avoid making her intentions obvious.

There isn't that much to unpack when it comes to vtubers. They're streamers except instead of choosing between facecam/no facecam they've got a moving cartoon. Some can be funny. Some can be relaxing to listen to. Many are talented. Some are just fucking weird. In the current state of the industry there isn't one singular appeal that draws people to it. A lot of people brought up anime and waifus and I'm indifferent to that aspect. I just like the personalities.

The ones that started the exponential growth in crossover appeal 2 years ago (mainly Korone, FBK and Pekora) caught on for a variety of reasons, a lot were already listed. The way they presented themselves and their dedication to their kayfabe felt fresh. There was the novelty factor. There was the great interplay. Later there was the bizarre eye catching stream concepts from Haachama and Coco. Most importantly there were videos of cute Japanese women trying to speak English.

Does anyone have this video? It's a really good 3D rendition of Gura and Ame. There in this bedroom with each other. Ame tells Gura she has to go away for a while and she does. Gura waits all the years in this same room for Ame to return. She even plans a party for when she gets back on the day Ame tells her she would return. She has a cake and everything. But she doesn't come back. It's kind of a depressing video. But I can't find it anywhere now.
Edit: oof, seems like 2 others already posted before me

What I find more surprising is:

Total subscribers:
Gawr Gura:
3,670,000
Mori Calliope: 1,840,000
Takanashi Kiara: 1,280,000

Average viewers:
Gawr Gura:
24,265
Mori Calliope: 13,825
Takanashi Kiara: 7,266

Total superchatted:
Mori Calliope:
$1,181,622
Takanashi Kiara: $998,741
Gawr Gura: $877,441

Despite having 2x the amount of the subscribers, almost 2x the amount of average viewers she has $120k-300k less income from superchats.
It's worth mentioning that both Kiara and Calli consistently stream much more than other non-JP members (besides Reine and Ollie).

...it teaches you whose food to avoid?

So I got a legitimate question. What's the appeal of VTubers? I'm not trying to start shit, I'm just a fucking lizard brain and I still cannot grasp what keeps you all attracted and keeps you coming back.
Did you check out the FAQ on the OP?
This and whatever the other alleged Greek (@Thomas Talus) said. It is the exact same thing that you see in streaming, with a separate face. Humans have been doing performance masked since the dawn of time, but it gets weird when the mask is anime. . . according to some on this site.

If your really into the sociological study aspect, it is a strange middle-ground discussed in Simulation and Simulacrum. The way most of these talents present is like a Simulacrum trying to be Real. The mental hangups of that are where the interest is.
YES, Armoured Core really was the shit,
Christ, I remember consistently renting/borrowing AC from Hollywood Video and enjoying every moment of me failing. Like, I would always try to get the Quad-Treads and get told by the game I was a fucking moron because I needed guns. My response: Bud the Quad-Treads are cool. I was made for Destiny, Style>Meta.
In everyday life women are rarely funny or friendly.
Really depends on where you are to a certain extent. However, most people you meet end up being extremely vapid or self-centered. VTubing, regardless of whether the face behind the mask is attractive or not, seems to have an allure to talents that are decidedly not relying on physical superficiality. Those are the real ones.

Calli said several months ago that her body was in great shape thanks to a fasting diet.

So I wonder how long it'll take to get that back from where she is now.

They're just like regular streamers but with avatars and some kayfabe. That's really it.
