Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

It's just that they claim Biden (and Bernie!) is a center-right candidate holding back REAL left wing candidates in the US. And then vote for Biden anyway because they're owned little bitches.

The Uniparty knows this and thus ignores them.

It's so funny how the democrats have painted themselves into a corner on covid nonsense.

They can't take the obvious route and send out the signals that it's time to start opening up again because their opposition to Trump turned their most loyal voting bloc into neurotic branch covidians whose world would be violently shaken by an announcement that restrictions will be weakened.

They can't put down more restrictions and nonsense because it will play into economic anxieties, which will also result in depressed voter turnout and dems losing power, no matter how many of their fellow travelers in the media say that inflation and supply chain problems are actually good.

So they're left with what Biden did just today: equivocating and posturing while doing nothing of merit one way or the other. It must be a migraine for the DNC, but for us it's just funny.

Biden actually gave the anti-vaxxers some ammo today. He stated the risk to people with two jabs and a booster was that of a cold / regular respiratory illness.

Such, those that are neurotic about COVID can get the booster and be very safe. Those that don't can live their lives according to their own.

Nobody is really endangering each other.

Considering the last time he was publicly made a fool of he brought down the mandates, I'm mildly surprised this was all a nothing burger. Seems to me with them focusing on providing tests, either they got a lot of blow back from Psaki's comments on providing free tests or they realize the private business mandate is going to fuck the economy and they are trying to mitigate it without dropping the mandate entirely.

Also, where did this thing about not locking down the country come from? Not a single person was talking about it, to my knowledge, prior to late last week and they set up a whole conference to say they AREN'T doing it. Seems suspicious to me that they brought it up at all, given that it requires the states to play ball when the majority of them won't.

Probably late to say this (by over a month), but a friend of my Dad ended up getting Covid and dying, all because he was unvaccinated...

Only Covid, though, and clearly had nothing to do with him nearing his 60's and weighing nearly 350 pounds (which already means he had underlying health issues).

CLEARLY had nothing to do with that!

Surely, the progressives DO remember that only a short while ago they bent the knee on and allowed voting for the ingrastructure bill BEFORE voting for the BBB, because Biden himself had given assurances and promises to the progressive caucus that he would make the BBB pass.

Surely they must realize that while they always were suspecting Manchin would block the BBB, and that they insisted to vote on BBB BEFORE voting on the infrastructure bill was the only leverage they had to get the BBB to pass. And once again they dropped that leverage and bent the knee to Biden.
Just like force the vote, just like 15$ minimum vage, medicare4all, student debt relief, just like every single other piece of legislation that are important to them they bent the knee and once again got nothing for it.

Shouldn't they focus their anger at Biden instead? He was the one that got them to drop their leverage and bend the knee, promised them he would give them the BBB and then in the and failed to deliver. Had then not listened to Biden and bent the knee they could likely have had the BBB.


At some stage surely the progressives must realize there is a pattern here. And surely they must eventually realize that they can not trust or depend on anything Biden promises them because he can not deliver.

@Gehenna This surely must make things more difficult for the midterms? It is really not Manchin that fucked them over on BBB, it was Biden that fucked them.

You are already seeing it make things more difficult. The narrative from the foot-soldiers is largely "Fuck Manchin", but the articles are beginning to or outright have pivoted towards blaming Biden himself. Often bringing up the laundry list of other things "Biden" has failed to do.

Nope.

I've said it before, but you're better off letting your antibodies do what their supposed to do before you resort to putting anything foreign in your body that's supposed to be stronger. Not only that, but it's clear that whatever is in these jabs do not work, so they could be putting 7Up/Sprite in your veins for all anyone knows. if you really want to stay healthy from COVID, just eat garlic.

Eventually what happens is the body becomes dependant on said foreign susbtance and believes it can't function properly without it. See also smokers and nicotine.

If I were part of the progressives policies and plans going into the midterms, I would:
* realize we are too small a caucus to have any impact or have our policies heard
* even with democratic control in house/senate/presidency we are ignored
* we(democratic party) will likely lose both senate and house in the midterms and then we will have even less influence
but
* if we are still going to lose the house and senate anyway, why not make sure we grab a lot more progressive seats from the establishment democrats so that next time we are in power we will be so big they can not ignore us.

For the progressives, I think that would be the rational thing to do. If your party will lose the midterms anyway, change the definition of winning from DEM control of house/senate to instead be more progressive representation in house/senate.

I found out today that yet another of my friends from my social circle who was double vaxxed suffered a miscarriage, that's 3 in the last few months just from people I went to high school with. I know at least one woman who was otherwise healthy, exercised and dieted, yet dropped dead of heart issues not long after getting vaxxed. There have been some other vax recipients I know who have died but she's the only one I actually know died of heart failure and I knew her well enough to know she lived healthier than most people I know.

To date not a single person I have personally known to have died from covid was someone I would have said was "healthy" in any other scenario and one of them was already in the hospital for cancer.

And yet Biden, who would have us all believe that the WuFlu will kill us and our childrens childrens children to the 13th generation in our sleep if we don't take every booster he advocates, is "asymptomatic" and on stage without a mask.

Love to see it.
