I believe it. Any "extra" money goes to Champions. He's never saved anything; extra money has always just burned a hole right in his pocket. He used to go to hotel staycations whenever he got a big windfall; now he just pulls for Hogan.

DSP is bankrupt because no matter how much money he makes, he will spend x+$1. If he made $250K this year, he would spend $250,001 and not put any of it towards actually paying anything off like his condo, his car, his credit cards, et cetera.
I agree with this wholeheartedly. The bankruptcy was the chance for him to have a clean slate and learn his lesson but he was right back to it. He didn't see it as a chance to learn...he saw it as having more to spend on his addiction. .

I remember him saying once that once the bankruptcy was granted it would free up so much money and he would be caught up and out of debt and out of this hole he was in. He then got the bankruptcy and called it as a win. The begging never stopped. The tips goal only went up since.

He is a fool.

The bankruptcy was the worst thing that could have happened to him; he learned all the wrong lessons.

What flavour of copium does Phil like?

Definitely salt flavor

Acting like anyone in a relationship can never engage with any media depicting relationships or sex is one of the biggest ways he shows how immature (while thinking he's mature) he really is.
This thing really is a fascinating little window into Phils tiny little mind.

He clearly have issues separating fiction from real life to some extent, him not even being able to entertain the idea that you can play a game and not do a self insert but try and experience the game world from another perspective than your own.

This is a part of him I would really like Steve of the Dead to do a deep dive video on at some point.

I'm sure some of it is just him LARPing as a mature adult as featured in the movies he watched growing up, like most of his world views but some of it really has to be tied to his mom waife and her insecurities

Or it's just him overcompensating and we can all quit playing Internet M.D.
Speculation is fun and all but Occam's Razor

Very true, but speculating is fun and him going on at length about not understanding roleplaying is something that goes way back to really old DSP.

But I'm quite sure that overcompensating plays a part with his behavior, I'm not quite sure on the timeline when he went to this mature KarenSydePhil but would it be fair to say it matches up with Khet arriving at the Snortfort?

If Phil was to learn a lesson from his idioticy, it would've been coming home from EVO with nothing to show for it but a fourth place loss, deep in debt and his peers hating him.

I've said it before; Phil is a real life Arnold Rimmer. Everyone is to blame but him.

Admittedly I was only listening to the Prestream Talk Therapy Session for about 5 minutes today before his annoying voice made me shut it off but he did address the fictional relationship stuff once again and he went with the classic Phil tactic of strawmanning. He talked about waifu culture and how he has a waif *points the thumb* so he doesn't understand why you'd need something like waifus if you already have a robust mature adult relationship. Of course, the fact that the thing people actually think is bizarre is that he reacts to something as innocent as two characters in a vidya game kissing each other on the cheek with an unhinged Puritan tirade where he shows off his ring finger and talks about how he doesn't need this he has a WAIF was ignored.

In this case I think it's a bit of column A and a bit of column B. He always had this weird idea that a main character in a video game should be a self-insert and should only be allowed to do what Phil would do in certain situations, even if the main character isn't a blank slate at all and has goals and a personality that's completely different from his. On the other hand, he's also clearly overcompensating.

That's the thing. I typically do all the dating missions in Yakuza games because they're more content and generally as funny as the other side shit. My wife plays otome games where you basically play as a woman with a male harem. DSP is rarely if ever seen sharing his hobby with his wife, keeps her hidden away and bans anyone that asks about her all while acting like all is perfect and that if he so much as looks at a virtual woman he's committed a grave sin and given Kat an excuse to leave. Somehow he thinks my wife and I are the immature ones.

And lets not forget, the vest streak! A smart man would've said "Okay, I got all of my debt cleared. Let me rebuild my savings and get back on my feet. Midfirst is going to want something, let me sock this away." To quote Phil about where it went, well, it went to "Bills, back taxes." and "It paid for a number of things." Of course, Phil being Phil, it was the gravy train, baby! Made an EXTRA $27,600 from his usual Twitch check, along with everything else. Rebuild his savings, get back on his feet financially? No! Only a mentally ill idiot does that. A mature adult blows an unexpected windfall of money on gin and gacha.

Just throwing in my two cents that Yakuza dating games are incredibly chaste. IIRC, there isn't even a fade to black/implied sex. I don't even think there are kisses. It usually goes generic dialogue, play a mini game like darts/pool/karaoke, then get confronted by a villain NPC. Rinse and repeat three or four times, with the last date resulting in a fight with villain NPC. There's also no story impact whatsoever, and once you finish the sidequest, that's generally the last you see of the NPC.

What I'd love to find out is if Khet does that content when she plays through the games. Given that they're apparently one of her favorite series, I imagine she'd want to do as much content as possible.

Thing is tho, Phil himself has admitted (not consciously) that he has issues seeing the difference between fiction and reality. Rambo had to tell him at what? Mid 20’s or late 20’s? That WWE wasn’t real.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it has been a common theme where Phil plays a fantasy videogame and bitches how things like fireball spells don’t act “realistically”.

That "we ran out of dinner stuff" is perplexing.
What the fuck is "dinner stuff"? Is this man eating nothing but frozen din dins for dinner everyday? does he just eats whatever he can cook in 10 minutes when his momwife isn't home to cook him custom made robust genuine italian dinners?
Am I overanalyzing whatever lies Phil spins up in his gin ridden brain and blurts out without thinking to not actually say they're ordering Doordash for dinner today?
I genuinely don't know.
