Ages ago I already talked to a waifuist and they told me to please not assume that every one of them was like Clair.

And then I sometimes see waifuists like Luthier girl and others express their concern about Clair and telling her she goes too far or she is too aggressive.

I didn't think it was worth making an update post considering the Clair stuff is happening but I suppose I'll dump some recent DRL stuff since he's been brought up:

Some venting about pedophiles, and talk of his ex again? Reinstated again that yeah, he found that information out from KiwiFarms.

Then a comment on it a little later. I know I'm just stating what everyone already can gather but looking at these things it makes sense why someone would go and cling onto a fictional character, if they were raped as a kid, and then finds out indirectly, that their bf is a kiddy diddler. I might also be overthinking but it sounds like he was gifted alcohol. Knowing DRL has a small circle, I wonder who gifted him it. No answer really makes sense, considering everyone around him realistically should know about his drug abuse. If I had to take a guess, I'd guess his mother, since she's very complacent with her mentally ill son doing drugs all day.
It's worth mentioning that for drunk posting, he's a lot more coherent as of late than he used to be. His old inebriated posts were barely legible, while this one is way more coherent. the "more drinking" makes me think he might have been drunk during his first post too.

He gave his opinion on Clair, thinking she's a troll. Worth noting Clair talked to him in July, so Clair's been trying to make waifuism friends it seems.

A more positive note, he's hanging out with a friend, which is nice to see. He does have a few people who comment on his posts a lot so I'd guess it's one of them. I hope it's just not a situation like during the absence from him where he seemed to have a ween lure him into dating, I hope he's genuinely got a friend who just wants to explore dead rising maps with him for fun. Vr chat is a very social program, and it seems like a good way for him to interact with people while still being in a safe environment (Dead Rising).

There's also this, it's a bit lengthy so I skimmed it but I can't see how someone could look at DRL and say Schizohprenia sounds really fun. But it's the same sub that has members trying to develop it to talk to their waifus.

So I don't really view DRL like the other waifuists, because he's not making it a big deal to people. He isn't taking a body pillow outside or anything. Even if you told me he was going out wearing a fucking Frank West jacket every day ala preciousleaf I wouldn't really feel the same way, since that's more discreet and not as attention seeking. I don't know. Maybe Clair's just warped what "waifuist" means that much. I'm also inclined to feel bad for him for every other reason thats already been talked about here. He seems like someone who had a fucked up childhood, didn't have access to the right help/didn't have a family who taught him healthy coping mechanisms, clung onto a comfort (i don't know his age, but it sounds like he had an xbox 360 and presumably dead rising since he was young), and was sort of left to worsen his schizophrenia with drugs and no help.
But I could just be being a big softie. I think it's just hard to actively dislike him because he's not a harmful person, and outside of dating a fictional character, just someone who's struggling.

yes from what I gathered, the selfship community and waifuism aren't too fond of each other anyway so imo it's good to seperate these.

Selfshippers usually think waifuists take it too far and they are weird while waifuists think selfshippers are "too casual" and "don't really love their waifu"

So as far as I have noticed it's important to look at the label of the individual, sometimes waifuists and selfshippers mix up but usually they try to make it clear that they are not the same.

When you look at the Discord servers (the main place of the community) you may see this seperatism, a waifuist in a self ship server might be tolerated but they are a rare sight so everyone will remember "the waifuist" and usually people will be crept out by their intense devotion.

There are some places that accept both but I didn't see too many and at the end I am just an autist who is too curious so I may not have the full picture.

The only place where selfshippers and waifuists might truly merge is in the so-called fictosexual community. But generally spoken the fictosexual community is rather small in comparison to waifuism and especially selfship.

She could use another account and try to reclaim the subreddit on /r/redditrequest, but from what I've heard your account has to be pretty old or you have to already be an active mod on another sub for a request to be approved.

Edit: looks like posting isn't restricted anymore for now, but unmodded subs tend to get automatically locked after a while.

Yeah, I think the thing that really sets DRL apart is
1) he suffers from schizophrenia; legit, medically-detectable schizophrenia, which causes him to experience hallucinations and distorted thought patterns. Most hardcore waifuists are mentally ill, no doubt, but for them it's usually a combination of narcissism, wilful escape fantasies, and Generic Asshole Syndrome. If anyone can be forgiven for thinking imaginry characters exist, it's the guy who can literally hear imaginary characters talking to him.
2) he's got a mature, wise, dare I say even healthy attitude about his issues. DRL doesn't revel in his relationship with Frank; it's a cope. He knows its a cope, but he also feels its something he needs; like a second string of medication to back up his mental health management. I think, in many ways, that holds true for the majority of hardcore waifuists too - they're self-medicating loneliness with horse butt and gacha games. But DRL is almost unique in his insight and rationality; ironic, given the fact that he's the diagnosed schizo (or maybe NOT ironic, given the fact that, as a diagnosed schizo and child abuse survivor, he's had a lifetime of practice in understanding himself and becoming a better person)

Honestly, crazy as it might sound, but fucking Frank, being Mario's son, and now having fictive kids apparently (?) is probably the least-worst cope for him. It's certainly more productive than when he's on drugs or cutting himself. And while it'd be nice if he found a fellow crazy person to settle down with - maybe some other young guy from a Special Needs program who adores vidya - the truth is that not everyone can, or will, find a special someone to be with. I'd be sad if DRL spent the rest of his life with Frank... but it wouldn't be the worst thing.

And fuck Chonger girl; even DRL thinks she's a troll. SombraWaifu4Laifu.
