Nothing's going to happen until next year (if that). If anything should go down I'm placing my bets on it happening in March.
Yeah I don't think they will invade anytime soon, or at the very least, keeping it relatively low-profile until March. There's Winter Olympic until end of February, and I don't think the Emperor Xi would take it kindly if the Russian are taking the headline by invading Ukraine.

Small question for the more informed people in this thread:

What exactly is up with both the Donetsk an Luhansk secessionist states LARPing as a People's Republic to the point that they call their parliament a People's council and the Luhanskis having an emblem that is rather reminiscent of the soviets?

Are they actually left-wing or just trying to mirror that weird modern-day russian patriotism with its soviet nostalgia?
Ostalgie is a hell of a drug.

What would Xi do about it? Kidnap a few more Mongols?

With both Russia and China being increasingly isolated, both diplomatically and socially, they need each other as allies more than ever now. Them and other isolated countries like Venezuela and Syria. You know, circumventing sanctions and the like, kinda like Authoritarian Leaders Club

U.S raised the travel alert level to 4, Shit may really get real so we'll see what happens. War never changes..

Funny you say this because EuromaidenPR seem to think that the Ukrainians can use the Omicron to fight Russia by lumping it with the Spanish flu.

Even if this were true, they do realize a virus can't tell a person's nationality and will hit the Ukraineans just as hard, right? Right?..

I find Euromaidan posting desparation like this funny because they’re the shitters that led to this situation in the first place.

Spanish flu was like 2%

Le coof is like 1%...depending on if you believe everyone wasnt infected during a wave and only those who tested positive were, what historians largerly forget is most people on earth got spanish flu

Personally i think everyone got covid already likely more than once...it killed some and estimates are just retarded because most people dont get tested or seek care....definately not close

Ill say its like .0040% so slightly worse than the flu which is like .0020%...Which seems about right.

I also feel like the deaths and chaos being reported out of russia is some sort of wierd propaganda. On Russian Social media theres no such panic

Putin might be waiting for the west to lock down everything again due to the emergence of the "Omicron" variant. The US wouldn't be in the position to level heavy sanctions as their economy would be worse off than it is now.

Not even just that: the majority of coof deaths are for the elderly and obese, whereas the Spanish Flu for some odd reason targeted the young and healthy. American G.I.'s during the Great War got completely rekt, whereas in 2021 they [fit, active men between 18-35] are relatively safe.

Here is explanation why . Basically they didn't let relatives to come over into hospitals and basically change their bandages, diapers , linens , clothes .

Warning there are some 18+ photos displaying the carnage basically .

Since when are Russia and China allies?

The amount of retarded ‘experts’ in this thread who know nothing about Russia is appalling.

There's a couple of hypothesis about that. The most popular one is that this particular strain overworked the immune system of the younger people who caught it, ironically leaving more people with weaker immune systems fine. The other, less frequent but still popular theory is that the horrifically unsanitary conditions of the trenches in WWI left a lot of people sick and carrying secondary sicknesses (like bacterial infections) which ended up weakening people enough to get them killed. Either way it's something that can't really be repeated with corona.

The answer seems obvious to me, especially when you consider how much fewer people were killed in future H1N1 pandemics. What’s surprising is that the young people theory is more popular because it makes no fucking sense whatsoever.
