General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Trying to decipher who did it best (for any singer for that matter), hits a wall eventually. This is because who ‘did it best,’ or even ‘who is best’ degrades into a matter of opinion. You can usually generalize who is a top-notch musician or voice, and you can zero in on who, objectively has more range, versatility, or control, but best is entirely on what the listener feels was most impactful. Personally, I think Suisei is better than Azki (who I still think is the better singer), but only because she sings with certain tones, presence, and timbre that appeal to me. But I’m not about to say that she is more technically skilled or talented. Actually, I think Suisei comes across as the Diva while Azki seems more of the idol, but that is just my opinion.

In the same vein, everyone sucks the Beatles’ dick, but I think they’re massively overrated (I still appreciate the band’s impact but eh, not so much for me). In terms of vocals, no one really can compare to what Freddy Mercury could bring to the table, but I don’t think he would do so well trying to sing, I don’t know, AC/DC. Certainly, it would sound different to the point of being a separate song. People will probably slap-fight a bit, but eventually it would fizzle.

Still had the notification to screenshot.

I think it's as simple as different people offering different things, and that can be said about all things. Machita Chima is probably the most gifted singer in the V-Tuber industry, but I prefer grainier rocker voices, so I'd rather listen to a Tokoyami Towa/Melissa Kinrenka cover of the same song. I genuinely think Shannon's (now Enna Alouette) remix of 'Excuse my rudeness, but could you please RIP?' is better than the original.

Singers who specialise in certain genres of music may attempt to branch out and/or put their own spin on a song but how that's received by people is so subjective it barely warrants talking about. Slap fights usually boil down to numberfagging because Maths is usually the first thing people turn to to try and quantify a spiritual feeling like emotional responses to music, or preference in comedy, entertainers etc.

So I have a question for people here, out of curiosity.

What do we think of the Dead Beats EP, now that we're a over a year past Calliope's debut, and she's released so much music since then? How would you guys say it holds up?
I still like it but off with their heads and the entirety of your mori is much better

Vox currently has >8.1K people watching him read posts on twitter that wouldn't be permitted here. I kneel.
It's still probably the honeymoon phase and the meme number's probably gonna stabilize within a week or two as usual. With that said, I wonder if the EU timezone appeal works out for him and Mysta; being in the UK and working with that timezone, pretty much no other NijiEN appears to stream within EU hours as "normal" as they do, which could work pretty well for them.

This actually makes Kiara became much worse considering she stream at the same timezone as them. But then again, as you say, it's still the honeymoon phase for the boys
(And also because its Kiara)

Mysta took to Twitter earlier to say that most of his live viewers are women. Even the likes of Kanae and Kuzuha have a predominantly male viewerbase, so Luxiem have 100% brought in a (relatively) big new audience that doesn't seem to be overlapping with the existing members. They are an untapped market who currently have the space to themselves.

I have no doubt that the numbers will go down over time because that's how it typically works in companies: you frontload as much attention as possible and then it declines and stabilises. That said, I do believe Mysta and Vox will remain the two top performers for a while.

The EU timezone is definitely working out for them, though, but I wouldn't say it's the clincher. After all, Ike is also European, but he isn't pulling Vox and Mysta numbers. Lots of Mysta's tweets have recently gone insanely viral, and people like Lost Pause have come out and spoke in support of Luxiem as the beginning of EN Male V-Tubers gaining recognition. Most of their debuts have been NijiEN's most popular, as was the show on the main channel hosted by Elira and Oliver.

There's a lot of momentum for them right now.

Overall i think only really good song from that EP is Live again. Her non-kayfabe songs are much better like Red, Bully and EoaL.
Completely agree with this. Live Agan is an amazing song and the more slow/grounded songs like End of a Life are her forte.

The whole Honeymooon thing is true but even so Vox and Mysta seem to have a huge female audience, and a timeslot that is not too contested by the other talents. Another plus point is the British thing, pretty sure they are the first corpo Brits. For Vox and Mysta I wouldn't expect their viewership to drop too much (currently 8k-6k) and as long as they can keep over 1k viewers per stream I would consider this a huge success.

As for content, these two are very entertaining. Mysta has the Gura-vibes of being small brain, bad phrasing, shit luck and ADD aspect plus high chat interaction that will keep his streams entertaining with the viewers. This means that he will also appeal to a younger audience. Vox has the voice and high chat interaction so perfect for fujobait.

Decided to watch Pippa's younger brother (managed to randomly wake up in time). He has god awful timeslot about 9-10pm Japan. His game choice are not one that appeals to me and its kinda sad to see him trying to stream to an audience of 1-4 viewers where you can't really interact with anyone. He has a great model with good rigging but I feel like he didn't really do much marketing research. He does seem young so it might just be hobby.

At first that's kind of hard to believe, considering that on the JP side Harusaki Air is the only one who's gone past 50% on the female viewer percentage (and he was pretty high, like 80%). I've been taking particular notice to Mysta's and Vox's chats today though, and honestly based on that I could totally believe most of them being women.
