I saw on the news yesterday that Israel is now offering a fourth dose to their immunocompromised and elderly population in an attempt to beat the Omicron variant. The reasoning behind their logic is because the booster had allegedly curbed the Delta strain, despite the correlation being tenuous at best. Interestingly enough, Omicron seems to preferentially infect the vaccinated + boosted population, although I would encourage more research to be done.
The population that has received at least 1 dose is approximately 2:1 to the unvaccinated population in a good majority of countries, excluding outliers such as UAE (supposedly >90% vaccinated) or Yemen (~2.5% vaccinated), so there would be skew in the data. Additionally, the behavioral and medical availability aspects of countries should also be considered. That is, a small village in Africa would be more communalistic in that the group would be in very high contact with one another, but less likely to travel far and interact with other groups, whereas more developed nations such as the US have the opposite behavior. Additionally, we can consider the possibility that the data in smaller countries (particularly less developed ones) would be fudged in a similar manner to how cases and Covid deaths (ie: if vaccinated but death occurred less than 14 days after second dose, they are counted towards the unvaccinated Covid death count) are counted here in the US and should be more critical of it.

The people who would be at my table would be fine with embracing life, even with the risk of death. Sacrificing the quality of your life out of fear of the quantity is a terrible trade off.
Sadly, I do know a lot of people who even triple jabbed are still afraid of everything. I hope someday they get over it. It's obvious now that the 80/20 breakdown of sheep to moldbreakers is true, though. Most humans just want to be led because thinking independently is so much work and hurts social cohesion. I'm trying not to be disgusted by their weakness of character, since they probably can't help it. They will always feel they must be doing the right thing, since Daddy government said they could have a treat and some walkies if they complied.

honestly finding this circus so depressing and predictable at this point. Things get a little bit better, and then suddenly the shit show starts again. Feeling very maudlin during what’s supposed to be a fun Christmas week (especially with kids) it’s a huge fucking bummer and just don’t feel resilient enough for any more of this

Hospitalizations lag behind the infections by at least one or two weeks, so it's still too soon to draw conclusions about that in regards to Omicron, seeing as it just now has exploded.
I know in South Africa hospitalizations are still low after a month but the official reason seems to be that there's a high level of natural immunity or something, so you can't draw conclusions from there either.
