The forum thread for that TWIA talked about the guy's tweet too.

How is it I only know about Twelve Kingdoms because of Caitlin? BTW, FinalVentCard is the Jean-Karlo on that TWIA column incase you didn't know.

Because it's an obscure show from the early 2000s that wasn't all that successful. Not a bad show, but I suspect it's mainly praised by the ANN crew because it's a series aimed at women, main protagonist is a woman, and it's very non-offensive in terms of content.

Caitlin in particular has her shtick be sucking off series aimed at straight women. Her love of shojo is something she's more open about than anything else, but I also remember when Kageki Shojo was airing last season there was a bit of a Twitter argument between her and Andrea Ritsu. Andrea called Kageki Shojo out for being problematic with its assault plot and all, which summoned the almighty Caitlin to try and rationalize the series. Sadly didn't turn into an epic fight because Andrea stopped responding.

Questioning whether or not the female commenters or forum posters actually like the anime recommended by ANN that is majority filled with women.

For what it's worth I actually liked Twelve Kingdoms. It had a nice fantasy story (isekai, at that) that didn't have the some of the wackier or annoying tropes most other anime have.

You could show it someone who's never seen anime before and they could enjoy it.

It's based on series of novels by Fuyumi Ono. She also wrote Shiki which was adapted into a manga/anime series.

Is ANN really majority women tho? I mean out of their current staff/writers:

Men: Macdonald, Nick, James, Eisenbeis, Steve, Jean-Karlo, Farris, MrAJCosplay, Canipa, Myles Gibbs, Todd Ciolek, Grant Jones

Women: Lynzee, Caitlin, Rebecca, Mercedez, Frog-kun, Heidi Kemps, Lauren Orsini

Soy-boys and cucks do not count as 'men'
