It's both, these are usually young adult books allegedly written for teenagers but today mostly written by cat ladies for other cat ladies. Think of Harry Potter books 4-7 with their melodrama, teenage themes, chop their length in half, add random social justice themes and have the romance plot that dominates the book. That's like 75% of these books, the others they love are bad science fiction versions of this and occasionally contemporary fiction that's even more centered around preachy social justice themes. In short it’s very likely these books are either infantile or they’re not digesting the contents of the books properly.
'I always get rid of my cars before the first 4 year service because that's a lot of money' - Probably the most consoomer thing she's said in the whole video. Coincidentally this will have nothing to do with a 3 year PCP deal.
I would assume she's referring to the 50k mile maintenance regimen most manufacturers recommend for their cars. It tends to be more expensive than the usual "every 5k miles" stuff because of all the extra things that get checked, serviced and/or replaced. Since maintenance isn't covered by the warranty, it's coming out of your own pocket.I don't understand this mindset. Not having a car payment for several years is awesome!
I'm also unclear about what she means about the four year service being expensive. Is this a luxury brand thing? I thought they were maintained by miles, not years, but I buy basic brands like Saturn and Toyota.
I think the 3yr maintance exuse is just a cope. The real reason is she is leasing the cars.I would assume she's referring to the 50k mile maintenance regimen most manufacturers recommend for their cars. And if you drive your car at the standard 12k miles per year, you're going to end up flirting with 50k miles right around the 4-year-old mark.
She's still a dumb bitch though. Imagine thinking financing (or leasing) a new car and the $10k+ vig you'll be paying on it is somehow cheaper than routine maintenance that even a crooked mechanic won't charge you more than $500 for.
Agreed. I learned my lesson after a couple of leased cars back in the late 90's when it was first becoming popular. Even worse, I went into both leases with no cash set aside for a down payment and had to put it on a credit card. ("Zero Money Down" wasn't possible, I was young and had mediocre credit at the time.)I think the 3yr maintance exuse is just a cope. The real reason is she is leasing the cars.
Leasing is the dumbest thing ever to me. You pay all that money and then at the end have nothing to show for it.
It's the never ending withdrawal of ~$500 a month that gets me going. $500 a month is a lot of money for anyone not making a hundred grand or so a year. That's a month's worth of groceries for a small family! And it never ends. In three or four years you have to go through the half a day or so hassle of getting a new car. No choice about it. No thanks.I think the 3yr maintance exuse is just a cope. The real reason is she is leasing the cars.

so what went wrong with him?his 100 Funko Pops
Funkos are so souless and bland they don't really represent anything, its just an ugly blob. Even if i like something very much the funko version is never going to convey any of the essence from it, it instead feels like a corruption and debasement of the IP striping it of whatever meaning it may have had originally, i'd rather not own such a thing at all.So what's your thought on custom Funkopops then? Like this Tony Soprano Funkopop?

Or for those into more vintage TV, how about this absolutely horrifying Barney Fife Funkopop?

A part of me is impressed that for whatever licenses Funko couldn't grab to churn out another soulless abomination, the fans did for them.
If my mom got me a Funko Pop (which she has before) I'd still appreciate it even though Funko's not my thing.
Obviously, a mom's best intentions trascends the intrinsic blandness of the object. I assume most people end up with one or two of these things on their shelves because some acquaintance saw one in a store and thought of them. Individually they are pretty cheap too so they make perfect clueless grandma bait, they also make up for a lot of half assed secret santa gifts. If my mom got me a Funko Pop (which she has before) I'd still appreciate it even though Funko's not my thing.
It's the unconditional love that counts.

While a collection of Funko Pops is generally indicative that their owner is a failure as a human being, I'd appreciate a Funko Pop as a gift from my mom too. Most people don't know about their reputation as objects for soygolems to hoard, and I can easily see one of my not quite as terminally online family members coming across a Funko Pop in some department store and thinking "Oh, this is the thing that ___ likes."If my mom got me a Funko Pop (which she has before) I'd still appreciate it even though Funko's not my thing.

Yes exactly, and that was also the point of that scene in The Simpsons. Remember Bart's reaction? If my mom got me a Funko Pop (which she has before) I'd still appreciate it even though Funko's not my thing.

Biggest mistake is being the kind of person that someone seeing Funko Pops in a store will think you will like. While a collection of Funko Pops is generally indicative that their owner is a failure as a human being, I'd appreciate a Funko Pop as a gift from my mom too.
