General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I, for one, would rather Cover focused on building on the HolostarsJP boys and this new Gen rather than make an EN branch. At best, I can see at least one of the members speaking English.

I think it's also very :optimistic: to assume a StarsEN = more 'collab potential' for the girls. They're for the boys. Cover and the talents who speak on it are extremely clear on the two groups being considered internally as separate productions. Most of Hololive don't acknowledge their existence, or they'll make up dumb excuses like 'Haha the only penis-haver I talk to is my brother uwu'. It feels very wrong to me to only want a StarsEN branch so they can provide content for HoloEN.

Roberu and Astel have to work OUT THE ASS to network with companies like AniMare, Nijisanji, 774 etc just to maintain numbers comparable to NijiEN whilst the entire remainder of the branch... don't. If StarsEN end up in a similar predicament, then you'll be more likely to see them interact with Nina or Mousey than you are Gura or Kiara. I look forward to the collab potential.
I would worry that HolostarsEN would steal the few viewers HolostarsJP has seeing how JP has so many English comments in the chat. And seeing how poorly HololiveEN's Japanese can be, would they not mesh with HolostarJP well? They act more like 1 generation than 3.

Let's just hope we don't get any League players...

I don't even care if StarsEN never interact with Lives whatever. I want them in order to give the JPStars the attention they deserve.

I don't think it's StarsEN. I vaguely remember a time where either papa Aru or Astel basically said "thanks for your support kaigainiki but you do nothing for us domestically where it matters". So my rrat is that they will continue to focus on building their brand in JP first rather than split their resources managing overseas operations and at the same time risk cannibalizing fans from their existing talent.

and at the same time risk cannibalizing fans from their existing talent.
I dont think EN branches cannibalize audiences.
JP chuubas didnt see a dip after the EN branch debuted, if anything it boosted their numbers, specially the smaller ones like Mel or Aki, since the West tends to root for the underdog.

I do think that its a bad idea for a completely different reason.
And that is Nijisanji. Ichikara is far better at managing m*le talents, and Cover cannot hope to compete against them in that market.
Fujos belong to Niji.

I just want to see what kind of male talents Cover found this time, especially since this would be the first Stars after Holo started the Golden Age of VTubers. Also if StarsEN really debuted soon, wouldn't that be interesting to see who are the people Cover pick, considering they haven't had an open audition for StarsEN?

Why waste your time supporting someone with support?

And that is why Holostar EN would do as well as NijibENis, thank to the GPB tag they can do pretty much any shit they want as long as they dont touch the cashcows

As HoloEN become more and more of a main cashcow, one that is increasingly going to be as important as the main branch, StarsEN would be a nice new guinea pig branch to test some things out in the western side of the industry
Ahh. No. HoloEN is far from being the main cashcow of hololive. JP still gets the most sponsorship, SC and merch/collab merch.

I seriously don't see how StarsEN can give JPStars the attention they deserve. All i can see is EN fans that still watch JPstars will ditch them for the EN counterpart.

I figured Sakamata would overtake Rushia but I didn't expect 4/5 of JP6 to do so.

Re: attention between StarsEN and StarsJP, someone calculated % comments in a given language in different Holomem's streams some time ago. Did anyone determine if English comments in HoloJP chats decreased, increased, or stayed the same after Myth debuted?

(So far I've not been sold on any male Vtubers, but I don't know if it's necessarily because they're male. I still like reading updates.)

Remember, December is still the Honeymoon phase for HoloX. You need to wait for January's number to see how they actually fare compared to their senpai
