Proving once again why socialism only works in Scandinavia, the socialist government in Norway has declared that covid passports make no sense when the vaccinated are just as likely to get sick, and it's more important to keep schools open than to make vaccination of teachers mandatory

Well, got back from another delightful outing with my friend, who is well aware of my vax resistance. He was salivating over the possibility that I could and should be banned from domestic air travel forever. I mean, I already don't have a real id and since my passport has expired, no way of getting one. Jokes on him I am already about to be banned from air travel.

It still surprises me a bit how people who pride themselves on being the most accepting latched onto the first opportunity to discriminate they got that would be accepted/ in fact admired by their faction. In the end, they have the same dark stain on their souls they criticized others about for so long. Pity they couldn't recognize it as the same flaw and reign in their behavior as they so often demanded of others.

I've had the same experience among my so-called "liberal" friends, the same people who whine in sanctimonious faux-pity about how our evil fascist government is supressing the rights of refugees/trannies/whoever will take great delight in your rights being supressed because you won't take their sacred vaccine. You can't reason with these people, the best course of action is to cut them out of your life and find new friends who won't rejoice in your death.

They want the pandemic over, especially now that there are rumors of all-online schooling coming back. The hatred is thrust onto anti-vax for not complying and making the numbers 100 so that we can return to normal. Many of these people are blue, so thrusting blame on Lightfoot or Biden would be sacrilege, even though they control when normalcy happens.

They are also scared of number hikes, but still trust “The Science” TM. No way the vaccines are just, not effective.

The totally not fucked with numbers for the flu cases are just adding justification as “see, that vax is working!!”

You have to remember that a lot of people still watch broadcasts like CNN regularly, so mass hysteria is abound. The news overblows most diseases as it is a ratings trap that keeps viewers hooked through panic. The reason it works so much better now is the general build up of Trump panic that came beforehand. People have become super attached to the media as a source of sense after Trump that it can just pollute for years to come. Add in the anger over being locked up and shit builds.

Pardon the TMI, but a lot of other people in my life would agree with that reading. It's definitely a risky play; considering he threatened to stab me over politics before (I believe it was the high value I put on freedom of speech) I still wouldn't be surprised if he's the reason my body's found in a ditch someday. Is that a frenemy?

Honestly, I lived there for two years and it boggles my mind how my Chilean leftist friends who were burning down their country two years ago to protest against the "fachos" and the "pacos" (cops) have now all become compliant little drones and are boasting about reporting their unvaxxed/unmasked neighbours to the same "pacos" they were lobbing petrol bombs at two years before.

Anyway, most of what's called the "left" in current year (i.e. extremely online urban soyfags) loves virtue signaling, The Science, eschatological fanfic, and being ruled by "experts". Chinkflu and its consequences have supplied all of these things in yuge quantities (much more so than the hottest pre-2020 secular cult of climate change).

A lot of them seem cockblocked by how mild Omicron is, so I wonder how many Covidians will end up like those stranded Japanese army guys who refused to accept the war was over many years after it actually stopped.

Now we have the warm fuzzy gift of hindsight, it was entertaining watching the headlines over December. We were all going to die if we didn't lock down at the start of the month. Then we were all going to die if we didn't lock down the week after. Then we had to cancel Christmas, or else we were all going to die. Then it had to be a lockdown after Christmas. The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine said the last possible date to lockdown was the 28th. And as of midnight it's the 29th, and no plans to lockdown before NYE.

I'm looking forward to New Year's. Here in London literally everyone I know has either had omicron and is now out of isolation, or was only isolating to avoid missing Christmas, and therefore literally nobody is concerned about catching it, not even my most nervous friends - partially helped because everyone confirmed to have it only experienced a bit of a cold. Last week 1 in 10 Londoners tested positive.

Possibly including me. I'm boosted but I stopped testing a while ago. I won't be getting a fourth jab. I did have a cold at the start of December...

The lengths people are going to keep their "liberal """friends""" " sure is getting ridiculous.
This very extreme case aside, I do keep seeing more rational-minded people talking about things their "liberal friends" do and say to them and it is baffling to me why they are still friends with them. I feel like a lot of people have this idea they shouldn't leave friends because of ideological differences but there's a certain point you need to protect your own dignity and safety, for Christ's sake.
Centrists/conservatives/non-liberals really need to start growing balls about anything or they're going to end up in camps saying "but can you imagine if the roles were reversed!"
