Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Someone from The Hill just tore Biden a new one for using his bully pulpit to whip up the social justice crowd.
Even before winning the White House, Biden refused to wait for the actual facts before reaching a popular conclusion. For example, after the protests in Lafayette Park in 2020, Biden repeated the now debunked claim that the park was cleared with tear gas to enable a photo op for President Trump. From the outset, there was ample evidence undermining that claim, but neither Biden nor many in the media waited for the investigation to establish the facts. (Later, the Justice Department’s inspector general disproved the claim).

Once in office, President Biden continued that “sentence first, verdict afterwards” habit by making comments that conveyed what he wanted to see happen on legal decisions to be made from agencies. Despite being told that it would be clearly unconstitutional, Biden called for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to renew a nationwide moratorium on the eviction of renters.

Within days of the shootings in Kenosha, Wis., then-presidential candidate Joe Biden had strongly implied that Kyle Rittenhouse was a “white supremacist” despite no evidence supporting that claim. Even after many claims about Rittenhouse were debunked and the jury acquitted Rittenhouse of all charges, Biden stated publicly that the verdict left “many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included.”

However, Biden's Red Queen justice approach was most alarming with regards to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents who were falsely accused of “whipping” undocumented immigrants on the southern border. Before any investigation was actually started, Biden expressed anger at the agents and publicly pledged punishment: “It was horrible what — to see, as you saw — to see people treated like they did: horses nearly running them over and people being strapped. It’s outrageous. I promise you, those people will pay.”

"Those people" are federal employees who have a right to due process and a presumption of innocence, including from the man who heads their branch of government. However, the President of the United States declared them to be guilty as the matter was sent for investigation. That creates an obvious pressure on lower-ranked executive branch officials to reach the same conclusion — to not contradict the President.
Indeed, while the administration promised a quick investigation, it went into complete radio silence. The agents are reportedly still on administrative duties, while there are reports that the CBP Office of Professional Responsibility has completed its investigation.

Much of the coverage was reminiscent of the false reporting of the incident involving former Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann and his encounter with a Native American activist in front of the Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 18, 2019; Sandmann later settled with the Washington Post, NBC, and CNN in defamation actions. There was widely available video of the incident showing that Sandmann did nothing wrong. He just stood there as the activist confronted him.

I picked that up around the Kyle trail "80s Biden" gave a basic "we respect the jury's decision" whereas the handlers went full retard.

Holy shit a man suffer dementia has more political savy than people who I assume are in the prime of their lives.

We are fucked once the zoomer take full control of the government if this is any indication of things to come.

It's not a matter of savvy, it is a matter of ideology. Biden comes from and his mind is rotted in a period a good decade before things really started getting heated. Where every politician put on the mask of pretending to be all chummy. So when something contentious comes up, he defaults to the state of saying a nice platitude and then going behind closed doors to talk about how best to pivot.

Modern politics is less... pleasant. You need to incite, to declare how truly evil the other side is and must do so on the spot. It's much messier. In addition to this, the platitudes game also tends to be cross to the intent of his handlers.

It feels like this is a threat they will keep bringing up every so often. This is, what, at least the fifth time it has come up without any action being taken? I would love to see the reaction of airline CEOs, who are clearly over this insanity, if Biden tried this.

It's a lot of that, but as someone upthread said, Omicron has hit the elites and money makers. The NFL has been decimated to the point of third stringers who have never taken a pro snap are playing in games to determine who is in the playoffs. The NBA has been hit hard, too. Now that it's affecting rich people's pocketbooks all of a sudden it's "Covid isn't so bad, lol".

There's a difference between maintaining an international military presence to secure economic and foreign policy interests and wasteful nation building and military adventurism. there needs to be a happy medium between full isolationism and neocon and neolib state-building

There’s a lot of folks who actually believe that the “Red Wave” that’s going wash the Dems away is going to usher in something better, but it won’t. Crenshaw, and others like him, are the future of the GOP and they’re a lot like the RINOs of the past except they’re a lot younger and learned a lot from Trump’s term about how to market themselves to the “Patriot” crowd on the “Right”.

Americans have short memories so they can’t remember back when the GOP last held the House and Senate, but the next time they do, (and that could very well be next year), it’ll be just like last time. They’ll shit themselves and do nothing, same as the Dems are right now.

He did. That turned out great for his defense dept contractor donors who made billions.

Crenshaw is immune from being primaried, but his district isn’t as safe as one might think. I doubt a Dem of any flavor could oust him next year, but with the anti-Trump vote out in full force in ‘24, I think a Dem could unseat Crenshaw, and if I lived there I’d actually prefer it.

Yeah, but there are a lot of retards out there. Hell, I’d say the majority of the population of the US are retarded. The majority of voters in Crenshaw’s district sure are. They not only elected him, they re-elected him, even though Crenshaw hasn’t been shy in expressing himself so they all know what a warmongering DoD dicksucker Crenshaw is. Anything to “own the Dems”, I guess, even though Crenshaw gets along with them.
