True on that, but people will still want to show their work and get a pat in the back or a "that's nice" from time to time since artists would either be unable to properly assess their works or think the opinions of X people would be more valuable. I won't deny that even i tried to chase clout, but the problem is to just make art for the sake of clout.art is FAAAAAARRRRR more rewarding than Twitter bullshit
There are a lot of people that just follow on trends and just do whatever it's popular for clout and attention, and they are really pityful since they are completely at the whims of their followers and they know that if they don't feed the clout beast, they will fade into obscurity. And i would dare to say that most people that are on twitter these days fall into this category of clout chasers.
