I read a chunk of the Game out of interest, it's... odd. It's more of a story about some guys who got good at picking up girls, getting into trouble with some dude-bro "wisdom" thrown in. Fuck knows if it was true, I doubt it to be honest - if I remember rightly he claims to have out masculined an Eastern European mob boss in the 90s, as if they wouldn't just shoot you and throw you in a river.

You are right though, on one level teaching socially inept men how to be presentable and some tips on sparking a conversation is no bad thing, the problem comes when it over promises and places all the responsibility on the person who is desperate enough to buy it. Some of these "systems" are effectively tell people it doesn't matter how you look women are not into that, just follow the next 5 steps and you can fuck any girl you choose.

The reality which these hucksters must know is that its a confluence of looks and personality that win the day, and while you can tweak these things in the short term, it's not entirely under someone's control. You could smash the gym, you could eat right and still have a face like an angry bulldog. Likewise, yeah you can actively work on your personality but I highly doubt beyond clincal CBT that you can do much to change it in the short term.

The best advice for these guys is to do some light exercise, eat better, get a job if they don't already have one and join a few clubs. It's not guaranteed to work, but good looks generally improve with fitness, so does mental health, confidence and social skills are best worked on via practice not high pressure situations where someone you idolise is staring you down and making you say stupid shit to women who intimidate you.
