Well I mean, wasn't it Meiro and her friend that broke the Kayfabe? I mean you said as much @Takodachi in a previous post. I've never watched these two, so I really don't care all of that much. . . but I can understand when a newcomer swoops in with your schtick in a saturated company like Nijisanji, where standing out among the sea of talents is essential, getting heated. We know how much 'the new face' gets a boost in subscriptions and views off the bat (look at HoloX) in comparison to older established generations. The new face having your voice would be straight cannibalization. It should have been handled better, no doubt. . . but the leak was greatest sin I've seen. Also fuck Narukami, he's a tool.
Edit:
I'm also still going off of this by the way:

But that is how it is already and we have seen that nobody but few holos gives a shit about collabing with Stars for whatever reasons.
And if Holostars EN become real branch i can see it turning the same way as JP counterpart. Mostly collabing with other vtubers than Holos.

Pretty much this. I'm not sure why people think a Gen 4 and StarsEN is suddenly going to throw open the collab gates and make HoloPro a more unified entity. Plenty of Holos haven't even collaborated with any WOMEN from other companies, with more of them having not done so anytime vaguely recently.

If we see Calli collab with Ike or Shu for a song I'd be more optimistic, but right now StarsEN is destined to become a closer affiliate of VShojo and NijiEN than its sister company, just based on what we can currently see.

Pretty sure most of us enjoy Subaru screaming; it's hilarious :story: It's all in good fun. As a not so much fun example, though, we have Lui trying to play Outlast, where you can hear she really can't take it (note the whimpering at the end... genuinely, fully terrified sounding)
Too much genuine terror...
She should probably make horror games collabs at least if she's that much of a baby. Marine and Subaru freak out at horror games but they feel tough enough to take it at least, that just feels bad. Kronii is about as bad but got through horror collabs better
While Lui endorsed the meme by making a short, I legit feel bad for her whenever people tell her to play Outlast again. She has mentioned wanting to collab with Calli, so there's that. Although imagine if instead of the logical choices of Calli or Botan (whom she also mentioned) she collabed with Subaru. The resulting feedback loop of bird screaming would shatter mountains.

so i have heard the word "backseating" used alot and had no idea what i meant so i looked it up. are streams really getting their paints in a twist that people try to tell them how to play? like nigga, you could just ignore them or just say no thank you. no need to make up a hole new word and term to shame people into being silent. maybe you should interact with your viewers more?

if only Spnooy cried backseating when he streamed fallout 2 and told people not to tell him how to play. im sure he would have not been mocked and ridiculed by those toxic gamers.

It's just annoying to watch a chat that all suddenly become experts on whatever is being streamed and wanting the streamer to experience the game in the exact same way they did.

I've never been in a position where I have thousands of people badgering me to do something, so I can't tell you exactly how annoying it is or how easy it is to ignore.

But I think if you're watching a stream, telling them exactly how to play the game so you can enjoy it without getting irritated just feels as autistic as it gets.

Kiara had this issue early on. I remember her spending a literal hour 'fixing' her farm to be as efficient as possible because her chat wouldn't let it go, and it made for really awful content. It also takes away from experiencing the game for the first time even if you're trying to ignore it, as you become aware that you aren't playing the game 'correctly' etc. It's just a fucking ballache to look at.

Backseating should be looked down on and discouraged, the only people who like it are people who do it. Who wants a fucking chat full of people getting angry at you and each other because you didn't go the right direction down a corridor or some shit.
beacuse its funny to watch the chat and streamer rage?

Kiara mistake was not ignoring them or simply say "i think about it". i think the problem is not much the viewer but how they decided to tardrangle them. it just comes off as, i dunno, mean spirited?

while we on the subject, what are chats suppose to talk about during say a lets play? with twitch, all they do is spam emotes so you dont get much out of them but how do you think chat should act like?

  • Autistic

Watching some of Vox's Civ5 stream, new rrrat is he's Internet Historian pretending to be british. If he brings up NordMan it's confirmed.
I will unironically simp for Vox if he is the Internet Historian
You guys are overhyping him. he's just autistic nothing special.

But for real though, he's alright. The streams I was able to catch were decent (even the FNAF streams). But when he joined in the Lucky Dragon Host Club stream with Elira, Nina, and several others from Niji EN, that shit was amazing.

it seems they making such a big deal over nothing.

This is the analogy I like to use. Think of it as the difference between a friend sitting on the couch and bullshitting with you while you play a game, and one that walks up goes "OH BRO, IF YOU DO THIS REALLY ESOTARIC THING ON THIS WALL YOU GET THIS +15 KATANA OF SMITING THAT MAKES THE REST OF THE GAME SO MUCH EASIER!" Except, every time something like that happens, some other gaggle of idiots is spamming something else.

"STREAMER, YOU SHOULD NOTICE THIS ONE TINY DETAIL THAT ADDS SUPER LITTLE AND YOU MIGHT ORGANICALLY EXPERIENCE IT, BUT LOOK AT IT NOW"
"STREAMER, THIS DIALOG CHOICE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST ONE TO USE FOR THE STORY"
"STREAMER, THAT LAYOUT OF COMPONENTS IS 13.2% LESS EFFICIENT THEN IF YOU DO THIS LAYOUT I'M GOING TO POORLY EXPLAIN, BUT YOU SHOULD JUST WATCH THIS LONG DRAWN OUT 45 MINUTE VIDEO TUTORIAL TO UNDERSTAND IT"

Some people this kind of behavior doesn't work on, like Ame. She actively does the opposite of what backseaters suggest just to piss them off. Her Outer Wilds stream was a good example of this.

However, streamers that either lack the spine or are just generally more apt to want to please the crowd (Kronii and Kiara being the two that come to mind right off the bat), they can be bullied/railroaded, and might kill their overall enjoyment of the game which just ends up hurting the stream overall.

The difference between helpful suggestions and backseating is going to be on a person by person level, but it shoudl absolutely be hammered down and stopped by the streamer to their comfort level ASAP, or the chat will just keep escalating and get autistically insufferable.

I'm morbidly curious about how the court of public opinion will treat her.

So far, very positive. JP public opinion swung in Roa's favor ages ago as more stuff came out. EN opinion is still mostly against her (as seen in this thread) because EN fans only paid attention to the initial stuff leaked by Narukami and never followed up on it. Most people here are wildly out of touch with the JP scene - Roa has already made back all the subs she lost and actually gained some despite not streaming.
