I know a bit about masks. Minor p/l, I have extensive experience with the M25A1 Biological/Chemical Mask. It's an NBC protective mask designed specifically for armored vehicle crewmen. There's a very real, and practical reason the military insists on you being clean shaven. Any amount of stubble, let alone the beginnings of a beard, will interfere with, and compromise the seal of your mask.

The rubber material that goes against your skin has to have a totally smooth surface in order to achieve a 100% seal. Any small compromise in the seal will let in whatever nasty shit you're trying to protect yourself from, and the mask, and you, are defeated. You might as well not even carry the fucking thing. When you don your mask and exhale to clear it, you then put your hand over the intake port and breathe in. If the mask sucks down hard around your face and you cannot draw any air, you have a good seal.

I knew the entire covid mask thing was bullshit early on because nobody even mentioned this issue. You have to have the proper filtration elements, and you have to have a proper seal. Anything less, and you're just pissing into the wind, and hoping to stay dry.

Also, filtration elements in any mask become saturated, and have to be changed out on a regular schedule. The mask itself also requires regular cleaning and preventive maintenance. Never heard a single fucking word about these subjects either.

A smooth surface for a gasket to seal properly is such a basic principle. Anyone who has replaced intake manifolds or any other car part where rubber or gasket maker meets one metal to another knows this, but I guess all that logic went out the window with this corona fiasco.

From what I understand, there is a state database that gets added to whenever someone gets vaccinated in New York.

The trick is this:

1) The governor of New York State, a psycho named Hochul who has called the vax a gift from God, has already said they plan to amend the fully vaccinated definition to include the booster.

2) On December 27th, New York City forced a vaccination mandate on all workers who were not fully working from home (read: all blue collars).

3) What many employers did to comply with 2 was force their employees to send in screenshots of their vaccination cards.

With all 3 combined, you can see where this is going: they can verify by simply entering the person's name and birthdate into the state database.

It's worth noting that so far, the only people caught seem to be government or quasi-government workers. However, I see all reason to assume that private sector workers will also get caught once the state simply tells employers to hand over all their files.

Anyone in a blue state who is working should be sweating. This is absolutely the current trajectory Biden meant when he was rambling about state-level solutions.

One was having a divide by zero error in his head when he saw me at the counter with my neck gaiter worn half assed. The dumbass didn't even want to hand me his champagne which is retarded since I need to see the price to sell it to him. Also how is he expected to pay when I need his credit/debit card to complete the transaction? If he's so paranoid about covid and catching it we do doordash/uber eats for a ridiculous surcharge. There's also some real irony in a full grown man buying alcohol which bad for his health being worried about catching chink flu. The cherry on the sundae though was me having to remind him to not forget his booze.

God I want things to go back to normal.

ETA: Daily reminder as well for everyone to work out, eat right, sleep enough, and be healthy as much as they can. That's a far better protection against covid than any mask or half assed vaccine can provide.

I agree. Though I think they mucked it up a bit by classing it a felony, because you can demand a jury trial, and I don't see a jury of peers all agreeing to convict on this. Clog up the system with jury demands, resulting in acquittal or hung juries because the issue is so contentious.

The lengths people are going to keep their "liberal """friends""" " sure is getting ridiculous.
This very extreme case aside, I do keep seeing more rational-minded people talking about things their "liberal friends" do and say to them and it is baffling to me why they are still friends with them. I feel like a lot of people have this idea they shouldn't leave friends because of ideological differences but there's a certain point you need to protect your own dignity and safety, for Christ's sake.

Some days recently I coof a bit... is it coronachan? Is it just the cold air, or dry indoor air? Who knows? I feel fine otherwise and I historically cough a bit in winter. Gonna have to take a coof test before I am allowed into hang out day, so I guess we'll see then.

It's probably just seasonal cough, since it doesn't feel like the cough I get when I get colds, typically, but if it was covid, at least it would be over. I suspect everyone, even most of the vaxxed will get an Omicron visit in January, and covid might actually burn out by February, exactly as that Pfizer exec feared.

That actually was me for the few weeks as all of my friends mocked me. Now of course, they are full covidians, and I was the one who realized how retarded I was being after I actually looked at the death data.

I mean, to be fair it was so early and I was so aware that Sars1 and MERS had a 10-30% fatality rate, because hypochondriac. We didn't know what covid would be like, but when it turned out to be a joke that just mostly finishes off the elderly, it was easy to realize the bio hazard suit was an overkill.

I understand what you mean about being open to others of different values. I always bridged the gap, talking to Gay rights people and southern baptists, for example. I enjoyed lively discussions. I thought it was pretty ridiculous to completely dismiss someone unless they took it to the point of physical violence. Granted, that has potentially put me into a few questionable, controlling relationships.

I've got a slight cough too... assuming it's not Covid (again) but I might take a home test before the parties tomorrow and will be highly amused if it comes back positive. Out of the group I was originally planning to spent New Years Eve with, 3/6 are sick and two have tested positive for Covid. They're all complaining of severe brain fog. and average flu symptoms. This is getting traction again as cases surge. I want to repeat what I’ve said on Twitter: In the 4 months since I’ve posted this, none of my symptoms have improved. I’m nearing 2 years post-COVID with zero improvement, no answers, and little hope. Take this seriously.
There is no treatment or any hope for me at the moment. I’m 21 now. I was 19. I’ve lost everything and it really hurts.

Nice find, but good grief, I just read that "story", and that has to be a total fabrication. The level of literary exposition combined with the excessive amount of very specific details makes me want to call total bullshit on this author and whoever published this crap.

The second paragraph alone reads like a bad 9th grade creative writing project-
