I saw a couple of great articles about people getting Omicron this week, and I wish I'd saved them. They were written by hardcore Branch Covidians and sounded like they were having a crisis of faith, with one of them comparing a positive Covid test to a cancer diagnosis.

There are now a bunch of countries allowing case positive or close contacts to work in hospitals due to extreme staff shortages. This is of course is much, much safer than allowing some dirty unjabbed plague rat on the wards many of whom have previously caught and recovered from the virus.

I've heard the CDC is condoning separate standards for healthcare professionals and outsiders in the US.

In my workplace, patients need to be PCR-tested (nevermind that PCR results are exceptionally faulty for Covid testing) regardless of vax/booster status if they want their procedure done. However, if a healthcare worker is sick with Covid, all they have to do is quarantine for a couple days. That's it. It's mind boggling.

Caught some stories on Twitter. There was a video of Cardi B (I think???) hyping up some cops behind a barricade to awkwardly dance with her and another story about a couple that got engaged as the ball dropped and kissed each other with their masks still on, which the news handle tried to pass as wholesome but the comment section said otherwise.

Since I'm apparently the New York City equivalent of a Dalit now, I missed literally nothing of value by staying home with my family. Times Square is an overhyped mass of garbage anyway. Going there at night gives me headaches.

It was an incredible interview. Rogan going full anti vaxx and pushing conspiracy truths has been quite the thing. Also not sure how he’s getting away with it

Times Square was super packed. No social distancing, no masks. Absolute stark contrast to the empty pavilion they had last year (which was open only to a few newscasters).

My son also got it with exactly the same symptoms. We were reflecting on the fact that if the year was say 2018 we would never analyze or worry about these symptoms. But two years of constant hysteria takes its toll even if you retain cool head and critical thinking.

Personally, I was worried that vaccine damaged my immune response. I will find out tomorrow if I tested positive. Meanwhile, I tried to get IVM refill, and the doc who previously prescribed it now mounts obstacles. He is asking about any negative side effects etc. Made me a little worried. Is it possible that holy IVM gives some nasty side effects? I wrote back that I had only positive.

You have to take doses well outside the limit of a prescription pill to overdose, and even then the symptoms are mild unless you eat a shitload of it. So far no person is known to have been to an ER for side effects of IVM even from unauthorized treatment.

The worst and most common normal side effect is diarrhea if you had a parasite that got expelled by the medication or your body doesn't tolerate meds well.

This has been the saddest part about this entire experience: they have absolutely convinced large sections of the general public that if they do everything Fauci tells them, they won't get sick. Also, if they get sick, it will be a death sentence or a life-changing event when it's simply not for most healthy adults.

Hell, even now, with half of the NFL catching COVID, they are still pushing "Kirk Cousins wouldn't have caught COVID if he was vaccinated" articles? Really? What about the other 200 or so players that got vaccinated and caught COVID? What about 1/2 of the NBA where everyone except Kyrie Irving got jabbed?

It still boggles my mind that we will literally watch populations that are 95% vaccinated and everyone still gets COVID, but also push the message that if you get vaccinated then you won't catch it.

If it's any consolation, that segment of the population was probably already over-socialized to such an extreme before the pandemic that any other form of crisis, manufactured or otherwise, was gonna be susceptible to the propaganda shat out by the state in an attempt to seize control over the situation. I never had faith in the redditor-types or the boomers who blare CNN every moment they're not at work to think about the virus with any semblance of rationale. No one should, really.
