Interesting. "Stoklasa" sounds similar to a Polish surname ("Stokłasa" or more common "Stokłosa"), and there are more Polish-sounding surnames in this yearbook: Sterczek, Szczesniak.
They're from the Chicagoland area right? The American midwest is full of Eastern European transplants. Mike looks particularly greaseball slav in that photo.
Its one of the Witkowski's being mad Jupiter Ascending didn't do well and thinking that nothing new can be made since all their movies after the matrix bombed
Best comment on the video by the way

I would defend Jupiter Ascending before I would defend Matrix Resurrections, I think that speaks volumes.
I'm amazed some of their early videos are still up considering how puritan YouTube has become. They use "retarded" several times in early Half in the Bags and the Zaat one has the clip of the redneck sheriff saying "nigger". They must be "too big to cancel" like Dave Chapelle where only a small minority hates them but their larger fan base downs out the haters, or they are small enough that the moral crusaders don't comb through every video to find problematic content and only go for the obvious targets like Starship Troopers.
Trouble is, nearly every youtuber both big and small either credits RLM as an inspiration or gushes that they are a fan. So first off, the tide is too strong to turn easily despite all the evidence. Second, that means the people gushing about them that are also vocally woke on twitter would be leaving themselves exposed to criticism. They wouldn't be able to say they "didn't know" they were like this or they wouldn't have supported them. They've always been this way. Lastly, I think everyone gives them a pass because they're older then the majority of youtubers. Gen z is supposed to know better but no one expects the fat, drunk, 40+ from the Midwest to be an angel. They have made enough self aware changes (dropping tranny and retard from their vocab) and that is considered good enough to stave off cancellation.

Anyway, I also don't agree with Mike's take on the Matrix. Jay seemed indifferent if not just following Mike's lead with not outright slamming it. I don't think he really liked it he just didn't feel he could speak up. I think it'll turn out a lot like their Force Awakens review. They praise it at the time because they don't know what's coming. Then when they had the full picture they turned and realized it was garbage all along. The meta shit in the Matrix only looks refreshing. It won't be when it becomes the blueprint for every nostalgia cash grab. I thought it was too fucking much. One or two nods is fine. The entire movie though? My ribs hurt from being jabbed with a virtual elbow going "ya member?" the whole time. Lamp shading is not a valid means to escape criticism.

I think I spot at least one faggot who doesn't get that that's why we disagree. Different =/= good, Poindexter.

And you talk about not paying fucking attention.
That's not what I'm addressing you dumb faggot, I'm addressing people who don't understand how they could say the things they said and mostly praising the movie's aspect they liked for the first 50 minutes.

The reason why they spent most of their time praising it is because in their eyes it didn't go the lazy route and tried to do something different, even if it failed.

Now you could say that the very same applies to Last Jedi and blah blah blah there you'd have a point

The new Matrix movie had effort put into it and wasn't lazy?

That's news to me!

The cancel mob is going after RLM guest Patton Oswalt now.
Faggot Oswalt is already apologizing for taking a photo with Chapelle.

In my humble opinion, he should have apologized for killing his wife instead.

They're not going to fuck you, dude.

How long until they get Culkin? They got his butt buddy Landis already...

Mike is the one that leads a blindfolded Rich Evans, who is wearing his Dick The Birthday Boy shirt, into the gay orgy room. "Just a second Rich, we're almost at the Star Trek convention. You'll meet Patrick Stewart soon!"
There was that episode where Rich left a DVD in the men's room of a gay bar.
I thought Mike would wait until Rich was inside, and then drive off. How disappointing.

They were famously wrong on a lot of things, not the least of which was calling to have slasher flicks censored for being misogynistic
"Without the deputy chief and all that he represents, Die Hard would have been a more than passable thriller. With him, it's a mess, and that's a shame, because the film does contain superior special effects, impressive stunt work and good performances, especially by Rickman as the terrorist. Here's a suggestion for thrillermakers: You can't go wrong if all of the characters in your movie are at least as intelligent as most of the characters in your audience."

- From Ebert's review of Die Hard (two stars).

Okay I take it back, that is absolutely a negative iq take beyond what was possible, how do you get that detached?
(I am okay with not liking blade runner since the Harrison Bored narration really flavors the original cut)

In fairness to Ebert, fair-to-middling reviews of Die Hard weren't uncommon at the time. I wouldn't say it's a movie that's been vindicated by history, because I think it was a big hit at the time, but it did take a few years for critics to come around on how good it really is.

Reminder that Siskel & Ebert had bad takes sometimes. Here's one, for example:
The thing about Roger Ebert is that when he was right, he was right but holy shit when he got shit wrong he got them wrong just as magnificently.

The only one I can think who is like that nowadays is Kermode. When he gets shit right he's fucking incisive but sometimes I have to wonder what the fuck is wrong with him.

Siskel and Ebert had many bad takes, which is why anyone who holds them up as an example of "Great Film Critics" is a retard.

To me, the appeal of Siskel and Ebert was them arguing with each other.

Oddly enough, one of their bad reviews made me more excited for a movie lol. I forget which one said it, but one of them described Predator as "Rambo meets Alien" and said it derisively, and I was like "Umm, TICKET FUCKING SOLD!"
