I watched the last episode today, and even though I realistically knew what to expect, Jeannette's behavior towards Jazz still shocked me. She's such a monster. She sounds and acts like she really hates Jazz now and is sending the message (not too subtly, I might add) that Jazz is victimizing her through his mere presence and that her life would just be sooo much simpler if he weren't in it.

It's heartbreaking to watch. This behavior from a parent could mess up an otherwise mentally healthy, typically developing young adult. Jazz isn't typically developing, though. He's a cognitively and emotionally stunted perma-child. He's just aware enough to know where he should be and what he should be able to do, and the realization must terrify and depress him beyond imagination.

I think a lot of the motivation behind the angry manosphere bubbles online is to groom men into bizarre sexual preferences and identities. The individuals who go on those subs might not think this is the whole idea, but those who fund and support these sites and platforms on a higher level might have their own agenda.
Sometimes I also wonder if porn sites themselves are also trying to nudge men in this direction. Porn is so addictive in itself, it wouldn't shock me if it were also an excellent way to push subtle propaganda onto people. It's obviously used to data-mine people already.

I know a shit ton of women who gained tons of weight off birth control and/or spironolactone (for acne). Same for prescribed steroids for inflammation issues or autoimmune disorders. No one can persuade me that putting men on similar hormones won't make them obese.

Did you notice that during the lamp scene when Jeannette sarcastically says that "Ari's got it" (and directly follows that by saying "Jazz doesn't got it" as if that wasn't already implied) she also says something peculiar, namely "I'm gonna miss Ari, she's my girl" with emphasis on the word girl. Freudian slip by Jeannette? Did she accidentally reveal that she doesn't see Jazz as female at all?

OMG I feel so sorry for Jazz. I had to pause this episode multiple time because it was SICKENING. (Not to mention Jeanette's sexy photoshoot... what the hell was that about? Not needed TLC, the freak show already has enough exhibits.)

There's no way anyone will turn against TLC, they would be immediately labelled a transphobe. Between this thread, Exulansic's "Jazz's Waking Nightmare" series, and the robust community that has blossomed on /tv/, it's clear this is getting lots of people's attention in a negative way, but they're afraid to speak up. That will continue, and likely only get worse, as Jazz's condition deteriorates.

I do think there's a chance that the show will have to be cancelled due to Jazz needing to be committed to long-term residential inpatient treatment for the eating disorder, depression, and trauma. That's what should happen, at least. Truthfully, Jazz should have been committed to an institution like this about 50 pounds ago. He has serious mental health disorders that will not be solved with a scripted chat on the couch with his siblings in front of reality TV cameras... he needs legitimate therapeutic intervention. But instead, Jeanette and TLC set him up with a job at the gender surgery clinic. Can you imagine having serious trauma around surgery (specifically gender surgery) and being forced to participate in these surgeries and be confronted with constant triggers and reminders of that trauma? It infuriates me how instead of getting Jazz the needed treatment for his mental health conditions, Jeanette is putting the entire family's life on TV and using her child as social currency.
