Imagine if investing in making a movie was a growth industry. A constant pressure to get more talent to keep making an infinite number of films.
Hollywood has a bunch of overpriced actresses. But by giving up a contract for one of them, you might be able to get 3 or 4 local talent from Idaho for the same price. And maybe you can sell or rent a contract with one of those Idaho starlet wannabes to some other film studio who needs one for a production. And once a few people made money getting actresses under contract and trading said contracts, suddenly everyone and their mother starts buying up said contracts and reselling them for a profit, since every film needs actresses.
This is causing talent prices in red states to explode because of all the people buying up local talent because of the "guaranteed" profits of making a film.

You own a house. The "market" suggests it's worth X amount of dollars. You end up selling it for something around 2X or even 3X, to someone from California who thinks 3X is a normal price for a cottage, because their housing market suggests 20X is a normal price.
Now everyone selling their house will start asking for something closer to 3X, because they can get that from idiot Californians. The local people have to just eat shit and pay twice or three times the amount for a house, because they're competing with the Californians who are in a housing inflation bubble and are cashing out, exporting the inflation everywhere else.
This repeats until it hits an equilibrium, or a crash as Californians have to give up the scheme.
The problem is that some Californian assholes are buying houses just to rent them or re-sell them to people who are "stuck" there. They're hoping to catch the gap between X and 3X in the market. BUT this is a very time limited thing, because it's a far cry from going X to 3X and going from say, 3X to 9X, or 9X to 27X. A 50k house can be flipped, apparently, for $150k. A $150k house -- the same building, in fact -- probably can't be flipped for $450k. But they're trying, and when 450k isn't working they're sliding it back to 300k or even 200k. A cheap mortgage on some red state shack isn't harming the Californians too much, so they can hold out... for a while.
There's also Blackrock, who are swooping in and buying those 3X houses and holding onto them, renting them out to people instead. People have suggested this is an unofficial bailout of the housing market -- basically all those idiot Californians bought houses at 3X and tried to flip for 9X, and since the housing market collapsing in the middle of COVID would be a disaster that even Biden couldn't survive, Blackrock just bought them for 3X or 4X and are holding onto them as investments.

"Captain" Morgan Mosby is a black female "Air Force Academy graduate". Sure am glad to be long retired. She's a disgrace to the uniform I wore proudly for so many years. From looking at the reddit she seemed to have something of a checkered past at the "Academy". Just give her the fucking beret, make her the executive officer/aide to the AFSOC commander or the 24th Special Operations Wing commander. Keeps her the hell out of the field and away from those who can actually accomplish the mission, possibly saving their lives, and hers too.
Making someone an executive officer/aide is sometimes done to get them the hell out of the way of those who actually do things, or when troops tell the commander/ops chief they're going to kill the officer if they aren't removed. This happened to a guy I knew and had to work for. He was a second lieutenant assigned to an operational unit, but was made the commander's executive officer even though the unit was short of officers in this lieutenant's specialty. After working for this guy briefly, could easily see how people would tell the commander/ops officer they'd better get him the fuck out of operations. Often the executive officer is a great person and great guy/gal but not always.
I am saddened to see just how low the Air Force is sinking.

This century-old hypothesis that humans’ dumping CO2 into the atmosphere will destroy the planet hasn’t fared so well lately given its serial failures of prediction, and its dubious computer models that plug the holes in empirical evidence that result from our ignorance of how an intricately complex global climate functions over time.
But there’s an obvious fact about proposals to mitigate ACGW that bespeak the stupidity of true believers, and the machinations of green hustlers: even if every program and policy for slowing warming were implemented, global temperatures would not be reduced sufficiently to avoid the alleged catastrophe, because big emitters like China and India are not going to play along. China alone emits twice as much greenhouse gases as the U.S, and more than all the developed nations combined. And if the threat is so dire and imminent, why wouldn’t the climate-change Chicken Littles support clean, renewable nuclear power-plants, or push for replacing coal-fired plants with ones fueled by cleaner, abundant natural gas?
This brings us to the causes of these obviously incoherent ideas, ideologies, and policies they promote. Stupidity, of course, is always a factor in bad folly. In the past, a lack of higher intelligence was offset by common sense and practical wisdom, the intelligence most critical for living together, surviving, and flourishing. We look instead to “experts” who are skilled in narrow professions and disciplines, and give them the authority to speak more broadly about human nature and society, subjects that are not amenable to scientific protocols for discovering truth.
This mistake is our age’s peculiar “stupidity.” Indeed, for two years, we’ve seen this phenomenon in the contradictory, shifting, downright absurd “mandates” and protocols federal and state governments have imposed on sovereign citizens, at an exorbitant cost to our well-being, children’s education, quality of life, and economic development.

Wasn't always that way. During my time on active duty as an officer, was encouraged and expected to use my brains getting the mission accomplished. But I retired over 20 years ago. God only knows what's going on now. Still have many good officers but suggest many of those officers are getting very tired of all this bullshit.

IIRC, there were something like 4-5 cadets from West Point (?) who recently filed formal complaints about critical race theory and praxis in West Point, favoring women and minorities and teaching Marxist dogma, and all of the complaining cadets were women, most of them black. So that's were we are now. Black women getting fed up with how much our institutions are alternating between kissing their black asses and sucking Commie dick.

Heck, dig enough here, you'll find a picture of black West Point female "cadets" in various poses, a couple of years ago. For some reason believe not many will stay in past their five-year service obligation, and some may not even be able to complete it.
ALL military academies should have been shut down years ago. Simply not needed. FAR cheaper to produce officers through ROTC, and if needed Officer Candidate School/Officer Training School, and you get a better-rounded officer.
